If you would like to give BECCA a forever home, please contact abetterchancerescue@gmail.com OR log onto abetterchancerescue.org to fill out online application About Becca: Becca is a passionate and lively girl, enthusiastic with food and toys. She is attached to humans by nature; loves tummy rubs and giving kisses, even around strangers. She could be a little shy when approached by strangers, but would not take long for her to respond passionately. She is friendly to adults and children alike; shares food and toys with other dogs, and never engage in fight with other dogs; very well behaved, not a chewer or barker; also enjoys her daily walks and car-ride. Becca is obedient and enjoys being around people, will surely make a great companion pet. Becca’s rescue story: Becca was rescued out from a ditch by the volunteer on her daily walk. Becca’s seven siblings were also found nearby. Because that area is an industrial park, banked by a storm drain, with heavy trucks in and out all the time, hardly an environment where young puppies can survive! Therefore, the volunteer posted a plea for adoption on line for these vulnerable puppies. The rescuer responded and placed the puppies with foster families while start preparing them for their forever homes. Story
Zumi is a handsome Shepherd / Herder mix boy with a very happy spirit. This fun-loving guy is pure happiness, he loves everyone he meets! Kids, cats, dogs, and all people are instant friends in Zumi’s world. If you’re looking for a social butterfly with a wagging tail, he’s your guy. Zumi walks beautifully on leash and already knows several commands, including sit, give paw, and lay down. He’s incredibly eager to learn and motivated to please — training with him is not only easy, it’s fun! He’s the kind of smart, attentive pup who looks at you like you are his whole world. Zumi LOVES to play! He absolutely adores squeaky toys, loves to run, and if there’s water involved, even better! Splashing around brings out his goofy side. (Leaf blowers, however, are not his favorite thing — we all have our quirks!) Zumi is also a champion cuddler. He gives the best hugs and happily leans in for one right back. After a day of play and fun, he settles in nicely and sleeps through the night like a dream.

Story
Meet Cookie and read what her foster has shared about her. Cookie is nothing short of a wonderful dog. She has a calm and very loving personality, bonds deeply with her people and gives lots of kisses. She loves humans and is always eager to say hello! She's joyfully energetic and channels her energy very well in the house, enjoying rest and nap time after a long walk. She's also very smart and knows "sit", "wait", "leave it" and "paw". Frequent walks and hikes are needed, especially as Cookie loves being outside and exploring. She gets at least 1.5 hours of exercise in a day (walks + running in an enclosed space where she can burn off her energy and get her zoomies out). Every 2-3 days, she goes on a longer walk or hike for 3 to 4 hours. She adores her walks and needs an active and outdoorsy family. Cookie is also fully houstrained. She can totally be trusted when left alone and we allow her to free roam in the house. She sleeps on her dog bed in her crate at night (in the living room), and often hangs out in her crate during the day to be in her own space, when she's not by our side napping or asking for pets and snuggles! Overall, she's a happy pup who really wants to make friends and highly benefits from being socialized with dogs as it seems to boost both her mood and self-confidence. She is especially drawn to her northern breed cousins (huskies and samoyeds, to name a few) and enjoys playtime sessions with them. At times, Cookie can feel a little insecure and may resource guard her person from other dogs, so she will do best with an adopter who understands this behavior and can provide clear boundaries and reassurance. She has strong prey drive so is not good around small animals. While she does well with most dogs outside, she is more selective about dogs in her home when it comes to personality, size, and playfulness. We think Cookie would do well either in a home with a self-confident, energetic dog companion she can play with, or in a single-dog home where her human(s) find opportunities for her to be around other dogs and play. Please submit an application for her if you think she is a match for you.

Story
Meet Porky! 🐾Porky is a 1-year-old Border Collie mix who is deep in his awkward, goofy, gangly teenager phase-and honestly, it's kind of adorable. He's all legs, enthusiasm, and "wait, did you SEE that?!" energy. Porky is very handsome and even more loving, with a big heart that shines once he feels safe and supported. As a young working-breed mix, Porky has lots of energy to spare and a brain that wants a job. He loves training and already knows sit and down... though he'll often pop right back up like he's celebrating his own success. He's bouncy, easily distracted, and still figuring out how to focus, which means he'll thrive with someone who can offer patience, structure, and consistent guidance.Porky is looking for an adopter who understands that teenage dogs are a work in progress-and that with the right support, this goofy kid will grow into an incredible companion. If you're up for training, enrichment, and lots of laughs, Porky is ready to give you all his love (and then bounce away excitedly). 💙 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 62.8 Age: 1yrs 2mths 1wks
