There are five adorable puppies in our Primrose litter of 10 week old orphans that have just joined our Connecticut Rescue: Claudia, Eliza, Marius, Primrose and Rayne. All the pups in this litter have gentle temperaments and playful, friendly personalities. Despite the chaotic shelter process, these pups have weathered the storm and show no obvious signs of trauma or neglect. It appears that the pups’ owner unwittingly facilitated an accidental breeding of unaltered adult housemates and then was overwhelmed by puppy love. She offloaded the puppies to a high kill rural North Carolina Shelter, and we were able to transport them to our place in Canterbury, Connecticut. We have had the puppies DNA tested, and they are a diverse mix of breeds,but 56% of that mix is Collie. The weight range is projected at 40 to 60 pounds, and their working roots suggest that adopters should be prepared to provide a lot of exercise and mental stimulation. Any of these pups would be an excellent choice for a savvy Working Breed adopter, willing to commit to ongoing training and socialization. They have taken well to basic puppy Positive Reinforcement training techniques and seem to enjoy the learning process. We seek adopters willing to raise them as Canine Good Citizens. All of these pups could easily join multi-dog homes with older, playful dogs, tolerant of puppy energy. They would thrive with an active single, couple or family with older kids who have been taught to be gentle with young dogs. All puppies are in excellent health, fully vaccinated and dewormed. Story

Cazmic has been the perfect family companion for over 11 years. He was raised with infants and small children, so he knows not to bark in the house and does not jump on people. He is very calm annd loving. No scratching, biting, growling ever. Unfortunately, he has recently had some health issues that have made it difficult for us to continue to care for him. He recently had a cancerous rectal mass removed. Since then, he has had intermittent diarrhea and requires more frequent opportunities to relieve himself. He has been house trained since he was a puppy. He still makes an attempt to notify the family he needs to be let out, but it we are unavailable (not at home), he has been having bowel movement accidents in the house. He has also battled itchy skin for the last two years. Though we love our long time companion, our busy schedules keep us from being able to meet his new care needs. He is free to a loving home that will help him age gracefully.
