Story
This baby has a magnetic personality and a lifetime of love to give. He is gentle and affectionate, and smart as a whip! He'll be solving algebra problems soon if you let him! He's: * Super sweet and kind * affectionate and cuddly * very friendly * willing to play at the drop of a hat Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee. MICHIGAN RESIDENTS—>PLEASE CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO FILL OUT THE ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://new.shelterluv.com/form/other/TAP/2450-michigan-adoption Before we can change your new furbaby’s status from "adoptable" to "adoption pending," the $50 transport fee must be paid to secure the adoption. At that time, we will stop accepting applications. The entire adoption fee must be paid prior to the transport in order to ensure your new baby has a spot on the transport. Thank you SO MUCH for giving a homeless Arkansas pup a chance at a real life with a family of their very own!

Story
Cherry is such a joyful little pup! She is estimated to be about 5 months old and weighs 28 pounds right now. Meet Cherry, a burst of sunshine in puppy form! She is so fun to be around, with an outgoing and active personality, always wiggly and so full of life. She is honestly such a happy soul who loves to play and explore, and she does the cutest play bows, and lots of them! Cherry is a typical playful pup and likes toys, but she already has a soft mouth release with them, what a good girl. She is also a bit of a cuddle bug, always leaning in for some love and attention. She can be a bit submissive though and really wants to please you. Cherry would benefit from structure and guidance as she grows, especially for jumping up for attention, but with her intelligence, she should learn in no time at all. She will need a home where any children are at least 8 years old as she is still a little puppy mouthy and has some observed herding traits. Cherry would simply love it if you came to meet her, she can't wait to grow up with a family to love. If you are interested in Cherry and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats. Not all dogs are available to go home on the same day you first meet.*

Story
Fenced yard required Fostered near Britton, MI https://www.collierescue.org/dogs/2054 Murray is a smart, energetic, and affectionate young Collie with a big personality and love for his people. He enjoys treats, toys, and a good game of fetch, and he’s always eager to learn, making him a rewarding match for an active home that can offer structure, playtime, and continued guidance as he grows into the wonderful companion he is meant to be. This handsome boy is fully housebroken, comfortable in a crate, and settles well when left alone. He has learned not to destroy his toys, is improving with waiting at doors, and comes when called. Murray is highly intelligent and loves to learn—he even figured out how to let himself back inside by using a lever-style doorknob! Murray thrives on attention and affection. He loves to be part of whatever his family is doing. One of his favorite things is greeting his foster mom with morning snuggles. He responds well to treats, chews, toys, and calm, consistent routines. He navigates stairs with ease and has done well with grooming after overcoming his initial fear of the high-velocity dryer. Murray gets along well with other dogs and cats. He enjoys canine companionship but is still learning appropriate play manners and can be a bit exuberant at times. A family willing to provide supervision, structure, and continued guidance will help him continue making great progress. Because Murray can be sensitive to certain sights and sounds outside of the fence, he would do best in a quieter environment with minimal outside distractions. A dog savvy, active home with a securely fenced yard, clear expectations, and plenty of physical and mental enrichment will be ideal for this bright young Collie. Murray is a happy, affectionate Collie who is ready to share his heart with a family of his own. With continued guidance, patience, and love, he will grow into a wonderful companion and a loyal best friend for years to come.
