Story
Nova is a happy, snuggly, energetic 45lb 9 month old smooth haired collie who has never met a human she didn't like. Nova has fairly high energy that burns out pretty quickly and then is ready for a good nap. She loves her crate (with lots of blankets!) and is content to hang in there while we're busy around the house. Nova loves stuffed toys but likes to chew pieces off and swallow them. Nova would thrive in a home with a yard that she can explore. She'd do well with children to play with but her exposure has been limited to children that are elementary school age or older. Unsure how she would do with cats. Nova is house trained and crate trained. She's smart and knows basic commands. She is food possessive so we feed her in her crate. She is not a fan of riding in the car, but we got her a little travel bed and buckle her in and she's doing much better. . She'll come with her remaining months of flea/tick/heartworm meds, food, toys, blankets, car seat, snuffle mat.

Story
Mork came in with Mindy where they were part of a large group of dogs that were abandoned in a poor area known for stray dogs. They survived because a few people in that area fed them, and 1 lady in particular tries to help as many as she can. We took them to get them off the street and give them a better life. These are sweet dogs that just need a chance to show you their personalities and their love. Rescued dogs like this make great pets because they are so grateful. Mork is a favorite here at the rescue. We think Mork is a Retriever, and Collie or Shepherd. He did well in the car and everyone at the Vet's office fell in love with him. He can be adopted alone or with Mindy. Mork is well mannered and hopes you will be his forever home.If you would like to adopt this sweet furbaby, please complete our pre-qualification application at this link: https://bit.ly/2CCVFPV#AdoptDontShop #TBCAnimalRescue

Story
Pinto was one of 7 pups that came to us with their Mom, Paisley. They were very fearful and unsocialized. Over time we rehabilitated 3 of his siblings and they were adopted. Pinto is now showing signs of progress and for the right home, is ready. A loving and patient home is what he needs to overcome his remaining fears but he is loving and wants to be your good boy! He's beautiful and the only one that looks like a Collie mix.If you would like to adopt this sweet furbaby, please complete our pre-qualification application at this link: https://bit.ly/2CCVFPV#AdoptDontShop #TBCAnimalRescue

Story
This handsome boy needs a very special person in his life, as he struggles to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately, but it is rare. He did not like his foster mom at all initially, but now he is loving and adoring of her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone; otherwise, he makes it clear that he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with many other dogs and is exceptionally playful with the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested, but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners, which is excellent because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home with minimal people coming and going, and/or a place where he can be away from those who do not live with him, and where there are no young children. His perfect home would be with his human, and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.Prince is fully vetted, current with vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.

Story
Sassy is a 6 month old 23 pound collie/shep mix (best guess!) who was found abandoned in a shopping center, following shoppers around looking for help. She was very underweight and covered in fleas when rescued. We suspect she may have been living in a nearby a homeless encampment.    She has small, delicate feet, so we do not expect her to grow very large. She is really nit Sassy at all but a very sweet, calm, and cuddly puppy who enjoys toys, chew bones, her luttle blue squeaky bird, naps, and playing with the other dogs in her foster home. She is respectful of grumpy dogs and takes social cues well. She also does great with the family cat and is non-reactive around cats.   She sleeps through the night and is making good progress with house training — currently about 95% house trained. She will happily go in the crate for meals and can be left alone with the other dogs in the home without getting into trouble.    Overall, Sassy is a gentle, loving puppy looking for a patient family to help her continue building confidence and learning what it means to be a beloved family dog. She loves playing in the back yard and watching the squirrels and birds!    To meet Sassy in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all adults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. Must have a secure fence if in a house. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2738458##

Story
Meet the social butterfly Nova – she’s never met a human she didn’t love. She is a 9-month-old, 45 lb, collie mix, with a goofy but very affectionate personality. She was adopted 6 months ago from a shelter, and she was so scared she would only belly crawl for days. With time and attention, she’s transformed into a mostly confident, curious, loving girl. Nova is fully up to date on all her vaccines, is spayed, and microchipped. Nova is a playful busy bee who loves to chase balls, carry around her stuffed toys, and snuggle. She has recently learned to bring the ball back for it to be thrown again and she gets very excited about it! She gets along with dogs and currently lives with 2 other dogs but is untried with cats. She gets along great with the 5-year-old German Shepherd but has recently started having issues with our 4-year-old Shepherd mix who is no longer tolerant of Nova’s puppy behavior. Nova loves to cuddle up with her humans and is the most affectionate dog I’ve ever had. She also loves cuddling up to the other dogs or making a nest out of her blankets and snuggling down into it. An ideal home for Nova would be one with a yard. She loves to go out and sniff around, chase the other dogs, and sunbathe. She enjoys school age children but hasn’t had any exposure to kids under 6. She would do best with a human that works from home or has other dogs she can seek comfort from when the humans aren’t home. She is a sensitive girl that is moderately high energy and very happy. Nova is crate and house trained, and knows sit, come, here. We’re still working on stay and down. She is a smart pup that enjoys using her brain with treat puzzles, snuffle mats, and training. She knows how to walk on a leash but has become fearful of being on leash if trying to leave out the front door due to recently being attacked while on a walk. She has fully recovered from the attack physically but has some emotional healing she’ll continue to need love and encouragement to get through. She has no issues being on the leash in the back yard. She has recently discovered that car rides aren’t so scary when she’s in her car bed that allows her to be buckled in and feeling secure. Nova is food possessive, so she is fed separately from the other dogs. Since she is still a puppy, additional training will help with this issue. She does well taking treats from my hand with the other dogs next to her. Nova is being rehomed due to my 4 year old dog no longer being tolerant of her. After the dog attack, Nova struggled with some personality changes – not bad changes, just not tolerable to my older girl who is highly anxious and twice the size of Nova. Nova has had zero issues with my 5 year old girl who is pretty laid back so it’s definitely the 4 year old’s issue and not Nova's. Unfortunately, the stress between the two of them is too high to allow either of them to live their best life. This precious pup is deserving of the perfect furever home where she can shower you with love and silliness. Could it be with you? Apply to adopt Nova today!
