Story
This handsome boy needs a very special person in his life, as he struggles to trust many humans. Prince might like someone immediately, but it is rare. He did not like his foster mom at all initially, but now he is loving and adoring of her. He is an outgoing and fun dog once he chooses to trust someone; otherwise, he makes it clear that he prefers to be left alone. Prince lives with many other dogs and is exceptionally playful with the smaller dogs in his home. He has not been cat tested, but ignores the cats in their catio in his foster home. He has learned to accept and walk on a leash and even enjoys going for walks now. He is house-trained and has good house manners, which is excellent because he hates being in a crate. He needs a home with minimal people coming and going, and/or a place where he can be away from those who do not live with him, and where there are no young children. His perfect home would be with his human, and how many other dogs his human would like to have live with them.Prince is fully vetted, current with vaccinations, microchipped, neutered, and on flea and tick, as well as heartworm, prevention.

GRACE NEEDS A FOSTER TO HELP HER RECOVER FROM HEARTWORM TREATMENT-Grace is undergoing heartworm treatment on 5/19-5/20/25 and needs a quiet home to rest as she recovers from treatment. Recovery includes a calm environment, crating, and only leash walking to potting and back for 30 days with gradual increase in activity.  She is young and we do not expect any complications. She is such a sweet girl she deserves a break! If you can foster please email us at foster@dsda.org for more information or complete our foster application at www.dsda.org/foster. We of course would also consider a foster to adopt scenario which is ideal in a situation like this. She is spayed and all her vaccines are up to date. Please help us find a loving home for Grace. Grace is a stunning 1 year old 50 pound collie/lab mix (best guess!).  She is very well trained and would love a home with a fenced yard and an owner who will to take her on walks-though apartment living suits her well, too! Grace is super chill with a laid back temperament. She would be happiest in a home as an only dog so she has your undivided attention. She is a great cuddler and even masquerades as a couch potato at times. She would be ideal for an older couple, less active individual or special needs person who would enjoy a low key dog.   To meet Grace in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. DSDA is very careful to place our dogs in homes that we believe are the best fit for the dog based on our experience with each dog. All of our dogs live in foster homes which allows us the opportunity to learn about their individual needs.  Must be home more than not. Vet checks are required! All resident pets in the applicant's home MUST be spayed or neutered, core vaccines up to date and dogs on heartworm prevention to be considered! No exceptions.  Must be 21 years or older with identification showing present address. Must have the knowledge and consent of all jadults living in the household. Must receive proof of pet deposit and lease allowing pets if renting. Willingness and capacity to spend the time and money necessary to provide training, medical treatment and responsible care for a pet. All poisonous plants must be removed from the yard.  DSDA is located in Dallas and requires a home visit on every adoption so only adopt to Dallas and surrounding areas. ##2179383##

Story
Aaron is a sweet, 7 month-old Collie-Shepherd mix weighing around 25 pounds, Aaron is playful, affectionate, and eager to learn. He’s currently thriving in foster care, where he enjoys being around other dogs, cats and kids. He plays rough with his sister Cleo but has a submissive personality and does well with the family's other dogs. He saves his energy for outdoor playtime and is well behaved and relaxed when inside. He absolute LOVES the water and would be in heaven with a family who enjoys time on the lake or in the pool.

Story
Cleo is a gentle, 4 month-old Collie-Shepherd mix with a calm, curious spirit. She currently weighs about 20 pounds and is expected to grow into a large dog. Cleo is doing great in foster care, where she’s been playful, social, and affectionate with other dogs and children. Story
Meet Bravo, a 35-pound sweetheart with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. While he may be a little timid at first, he warms up quickly and becomes an affectionate, loyal companion. Bravo gets along well with other dogs and shows no signs of food aggression. He’s still working on building his confidence, doorways and new environments can be a little scary but he’s improving every day and walking better on a leash with each outing. Bravo is not a fan of cats, so a feline-free home would be best. With a little patience and a lot of love, he’ll thrive in a calm, caring home where he can continue to blossom.

Story
Meet Scout City: The Handsome Hound Looking for His Forever Home! Introducing Scout City, our nearly five-year-old hound mix who's ready to find a loving forever home. Weighing in at a sturdy 87 pounds, Scout is a handsome and friendly boy who has faced a lot in his life but remains full of love and loyalty. Scout was born in our care in 2019 after his mom was brought to the shelter. Sadly, his mom couldn't leave the shelter due to protocol and contracted distemper, leaving Scout as the sole survivor of his litter. Adopted as a puppy, Scout's journey took a tough turn when he was abandoned by his adopter at the shelter following a breakup. Since then, Scout has been living in boarding, waiting patiently for his chance at a stable, loving home. Scout can be a little timid in new situations, but once he relaxes, his whole face lights up with joy. He loves toys and treats, and his happy-go-lucky nature makes him a delightful family dog. Scout does well with other dogs and enjoys both playing with canine friends and having quiet time by himself. This speckled dude is one of our favorites. He's a large, good-looking guy with a heart full of love to give. Although he has some separation anxiety, Scout's friendly disposition and desire to be a loyal companion make him a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him the time and understanding he needs. Scout is looking for a forever home where he can finally experience the stability and love he deserves. If you're searching for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, Scout is your guy. Adopt Scout City today and give him the forever home he's been dreaming of! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Nelson promises to be your best friend from day one. He is the epitome of the stereotype, a man’s best friend. He is brave, even when faced with scary shots from the vet. He loves to play, and everything he does is to make you happy. He plays well with other dogs but prefers to play with humans. He has begun crate and potty training and has caught on really well so far. While not sure of his lineage we believe he looks to have some dachshund and chihuahua. All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at www.dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Story
Meet Fella: The Distinguished Gentleman with a Goofy Side! Say hello to Fella, our big, beautiful, and well-marked boy who's always ready for a game of fetch! At seven years old and weighing in at a solid 80 pounds, Fella is quite the distinguished gentleman. He's got a heart full of love and a playful spirit that will bring endless joy to your life. Fella is all about that ball life-he loves to play until your arm hurts! He knows all his basic commands and works well on a leash, making him a delight to take on walks and adventures. With a few treats and some minutes, he'll entertain you with rollovers, shakes, and quickly learn new tricks. This sweet-faced boy, with his adorable freckles, is well-behaved and gets along with other dogs and people. While he's not a fan of cats, Fella is all about making human friends, even if he plays it cool at first. Underneath his reserved exterior, you'll find a goofy side and a loyal heart that will warm up to you in no time. Making new dog friends isn't always easy for Fella, as his big, strong presence can be a bit intimidating at first. However, he's lived in a home with other dogs before being surrendered to the shelter, and with proper introductions and decompression, he would do great as part of a pack. Fella loves car rides, enjoys good walks, and is a fantastic hiker and runner. He recently went in for photographs and made himself right at home in the studio, showcasing his love for belly rubs and the comfort of a home. Fella is looking for a foster or adopter who can promise to be a good friend to him, and he promises to be a sweet, loyal companion. If you're looking for a distinguished gentleman with a playful side, Fella is your guy. Adopt or foster Fella today and let this charming boy become a beloved member of your family!
