Story
Hey Id like to say a few things about Mr. Barron. He is a very active and can be very high energy dog. The most ideal candidate is somebody that can match that energy and has some space or an active lifestyle to match. I got him in Winnsboro Texas originally to protect my two smaller dogs as I had acreage and I would work long days and they were in about a 2 acre fenced in section and there was lots of coyotes on the land so I needed something larger to protect my two smaller dogs. When I originally adopted him he was approximately they said about one year-old. That was in late 2021. I enjoy living out in the country, but due to circumstances, I will have to move into the city and as per my new lease agreements he is too large so I need to find him a suitable candidate. Definitely loves attention and good praise. Is a good presence, protective animal. Can get very excitable under circumstances so continue training is always necessary. Being an Australian kelpie is a herding dog

Story
t's me, Mo- the guy with the big blue eyes, spotted nose, and a tongue that sometimes forgets to stay in my mouth. I've been patiently waiting at my finders home, dreaming about the day I finally get my forever home.  Here is what you should know about me: I am very loveable I love people and dogs of all sizes I am fascinated by horses Car rides are the best I was abandoned and starved, so food really excites me Bully sticks are my favorite I love playing fetch I want to be taken on walks but my finder/foster has too many dogs and no time to walk me. I don't need anything fancy, just patience, kindness and a family who has time for me.  Mo is one year old and 59 lbs Kelpie mix who was found stray by a kind citizen. Months went by without an owner coming forward and now Mo is searching for a new family that can give him all the love and attention he deserves. He's house and crate trained and gets along great with other dogs and cats.  Mo is neutered, vaccinated, microchiped and heartworm negative. His adoption fee is $275. Please apply online and we'll be in touch: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story
Bossy is a fun, energetic young pup who is very much still in her puppy phase but she is SO intelligent. She’s playful, active, and full of curiosity, always ready to explore the world around her. Bossy is very intelligent and already knows the command “go to home,” heading right to her crate when asked a great start for continued training. She has lived with both kids and adults and is comfortable being crated. Bossy would benefit from continued potty training and basic puppy manners, but she’s eager to learn and would do well with someone ready to guide a smart, active pup. If you’re looking for a bright, energetic puppy to grow with, Bossy might be the perfect match! Story
This handsome boy is Reno, an Australian Kelpie mix that was brought in as a stray to the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 1/12. He weighs 36 pounds and is about 2 years old. Reno appears to have been nicely cared for. He knows the sit and paw commands (in fact he will give you both left and right paws). He is very sociable, friendly, affectionate, wants to climb into your lap and will give kisses. He is a charming, gentle, sweet, well-behaved boy who would doubtless make someone a wonderful companion. He does walk well on a leash. He played with several toys and balls in our meet and greet room. Reno is also quite the curious boy. In the yard, he had his nose to the ground and covered pretty much the entire area. He loves treats and takes them quite politely. He sincerely hopes that his stay at the shelter will be a short one and that a new person or family with step forward and adopt or foster and stay committed to him. Reno is a delightfully sweet, loveable and charming boy. He deserves to live as an inside dog spending time with his loving family.

Owner surrender due to having too many animals and not enough space. Runs away from home but comes back. She digs and, when excited, jumps and barks uncontrollably. Food aggression with other animals, but not towards people. She is okay on leash. She has boundaries, doesn't like kennel being hit. Protective of family, loves attention. Would be better in a home without other animals. Good with cows.
