Story
This dog is part of our shelter outreach program where we take dogs from overcrowded shelters in hopes of finding them a forever home here! We generally do not have much background info on them and cannot guarantee they are housebroken.  They are all up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.  Meet Gus & Smokey, a bonded pair of sweet senior gentlemen searching for a soft place to land for their golden years.  These two recently lost their beloved owner and, through no fault of their own, found themselves surrendered to an overcrowded shelter. Now they’re with us, hoping someone will see what we already do: two loyal best friends who deserve comfort, love, and stability. Gus, the adorable little doxie, weighs in at about 17 lbs and sticks close to his buddy at all times. His BFF Smokey (about 22 lbs) is a delightful mystery mix,  complete with a nub tail, big expressive ears (maybe some corgi in there?), and major Eeyore-style soulful vibes that will melt your heart. Both boys are estimated to be 10–12 years old, have been neutered, and just had dentals, so they’re all set and ready for their new “leash” on life.  Is there someone out there willing to open their heart and home to these two precious seniors and give them the peaceful, loving retirement they so deserve? If you’ve got room for double the love, Gus & Smokey are waiting. *Per JSAC policy, puppies and kittens under 6 months will not be adopted to families with children under the age of 6 years.January 23, 2026, 5:10 pm

Story
Jack is a sweet little cuddle bug who bonds very deeply with his person. He is approximately one year old and weighs just 17 lbs. Jack forms a strong attachment to one person and clearly prefers women, so he must be in a female-only home where he can feel safe and secure. He would do best as an only person’s companion in a calm, adult household with no children.Once Jack trusts you, he is incredibly loving and devoted, always ready to curl up close. Because he only has one eye, it can take him a little time to warm up to new people, and he can become frightened when kids run up to him, which is why a quiet, child-free home is essential.Jack does wonderfully with his foster’s other dog, but he is not good with cats. He would be perfectly happy in an apartment as long as it’s a peaceful environment without lots of people coming and going—he will bark when strangers enter. Jack loves squeaky and soft toys, is fine being left alone either in or out of a crate, and settles well.He can be a bit of an escape artist, so a secure home (and no little ones who might open doors) is important. For the right woman, Jack will be a loyal, affectionate companion who gives endless love. Bcaaofnj.orgInterested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! Story
We call Garnet a Velcro dog because she's super affectionate. In fact, she loves being around people! She's a 5-year-old, 45-pound mix of Corgi and Terrie. She has a short and stocky build and every bit of it is filled with love! That includes walks, too! Offer her a leash and she'll be right with you as you stroll down the street! &#194&#147This girl is an absolute delight,&#194&#148 says her foster! You'll think so, too! (posted 11/19/25, ME) Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. Transport Fee: $160.00-- We consider the transport to be of great importance and, as such, take particular care of the dogs during the trip. We make every effort to arrive with healthy and minimally stressed dogs. **It is rare that we know with certainty the ages or mixes that make up our dogs, but we do our best to be as accurate as possible based upon our experience. **November 19, 2025, 11:03 am

Story
Adoptable: CORGIE 🩷🐾 This sweet girl is "Corgie"! Corgie is a 7 month old corgi mix (your guess is as good as ours!)... with a lonnggg body, lowrider legs, and the sweetest personality. Corgie is about 20lb, great with people of all ages, dog friendly, and is even cat and chicken friendly! Corgie was found as a 'stray'... unfortunately probably discarded by her owner and left to fend for herself. As a result, she is a little protective of her food around her foster doggy siblings-- but with people, she couldn't care less! She plays with toys and shares well with her dog friends. Corgie is available for adoption and would love to show you just how amazing and sweet she is. She's full of tail wags, wiggly butt energy, and lots of love and doggy kisses. She is working on housetraining and crate training, but is so quick to learn-- she just needs time to settle and consistency. After being abandoned, who could blame her? She's ready to give humans another chance...can YOU give her a chance??? Apply here: https://form.jotform.com/252365507921054
