Story
Put Short Bio here: MEET TACO Taco (Taco Soup) is the cutest little corgi mix and has the sweetest personality to match his little face. He’s a low rider boy who loves to trot along on walks and take in all the sniffs the city has to offer. Taco has already proven to be a perfect city dog and has adjusted to the loud sounds and busy environment of the city! He is not easily spooked and has lots of confidence. Taco loves saying hi to dogs of all sizes and gets along with all of them. He also loves making friends with humans and has become a big hit among my friends and neighbors. Taco has yet to meet a stranger on the street who doesn't give multiple compliments on his sweet demeanor, good behavior, friendly nature, and cuteness! Taco is such a sweet soul and loves to cuddle up and roll over for belly rubs and baby talk. He is great in the house and listens well to sit & leave it commands. He is able to snooze or entertain himself with toys and puzzles and chews while I work and then comes by to say hi every now and then. He’s truly such a good boy and will thrive in most homes! Taco is now fully house trained and knows to go outside only, he hasn't had an accident in a week plus, & being in a routine helps him a lot. Taco sleeps through the night and waits until you’re up to get going for the day! Taco is making progress with staying home alone and with the help of calming chews he is fine to be left alone for 2-4 hours at a time. He loves accompanying his humans with any outings, chores or activities you have. Taco is such a special boy and has stolen my heart - he will make someone or family very happy!! ♥♥♥ Fill out all below:Personality & Characteristics: sweet, playful, confident, friendly My foster dog is good with: Dogs, Adults & KidsMy foster dog is: Crate trained, House trained, Low sheddingEnergy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6Barker? Story
ICHABOD - 4 years, 16lbs, Corgi Mix, Neutered  This dog is joining Social Tees on 10/05 and is eligible to join our foster-to-adopt program starting that day. Please email fostertoadopt@socialteesnyc.org with the animal’s name in the subject line if you are interested! Want to straight up adopt? Submit an adoption application at socialteesnyc.org. Level of dog ownership experience needed:BEGINNER: This means we predict this dog will be low on the challenge scale due to its breed/age combo. Potentially a good fit for someone who has relevant dog care experience (fostering, dog sitting) and is looking to adopt their first pup Energy level MEDIUM: Needs a daily 60-90 minute walk or window of quick paced exercise (minimum) in addition to potty break strolls (10-30 min each). Also needs significant socializing opportunities outside the home and mental stimulation at home like tricks training practice, chew items, and puzzle toys. (This is regardless of dog size – many small breeds were designed for lots of activity and will exhibit unwanted behavior when they’re understimulated.)  Potty trained? Probably! Adults usually are, but all will have transitional accidents for the first week or so. A consistent walking route and schedule plus finding spots with grass or dirt can help. Social with other dogs? Yes, but we don’t know to what degree yet. Some like to wrestle with every passing pup, others can coexist well but prefer to keep to themselves. We’ll learn more soon. Social with cats? Not sure yet! Some breed mixes that are generally NOT great matches for homes with cats include large hounds, huskies, and shepherds.  Comfortable with children?  (ALWAYS requires adult supervision) We’re not sure yet, but we try to err on the side of caution. Respectful kids ages 8 and up are probably a safe bet. Children must always be monitored and taught to interact with dogs of any age respectfully.  Okay in the city? We don’t know yet. Most adult dogs do well in the city after they’ve had time to adjust to a new environment, but some never adapt and need homes in the burbs.  Medical statusHealthy as far as we know. Up to date on their DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines; heartworm negative; spayed/neutered; microchipped; treated with dewormer upon intake  How this dog ended up with Social Tees:Most of our dogs come via partner groups who help us save them from shelters where they are at risk of euthanasia in Tennessee or St. Thomas. There are very few spay/neuter resources there and many more animals in those areas than there are people to adopt them. Rescue groups like ours bring them to the northeast where the desire for pets like these allows us to save their lives.  PLEASE NOTE: We cannot guarantee any breed mix, exact age, or full grown size (if the dog is under a year old). We do our best with very educated guesses though!  This animal is not at the Social Tees office, all are in foster homes.LEARN MORE ABOUT US: socialteesnyc.org and Instagram @socialteesnyc ##2191428##

Story
We're thrilled to welcome the newest little lady, Bella! When we saw a plea to rescue Bella from an overcrowded inner city shelter we knew we had to make it happen, as she wasn't doing well. Bella is a middle aged, pittie mix and what she's mixed with is anyone's guess! Corgi? Bassett hound? Dachshund? Definitely something with short legs! She's the ultimate low rider, with her creamy brown coat, big ears and adorable bunny hop-run. She has a calm, sweet temperament jumping up lightly to give hugs. Bella is as snug as a bug in a rug? Her favorite place is cuddled underneath her favorite blanket! So what if it’s June??? This girl knows how to get comfy. When it comes to being cute and adorable Bella understands the assignment. She enjoys short walks, quick zoomies in the yard, peanut butter treats and of course her blankie! She’s a low maintenance gal and doesn’t mind being your couch buddy. A ride in the car or a trip to a local brewery are good with her too as long as she’s with her people. Bella is ok around other dogs but prefers not to share a home with them, she wants her family allllll to herself. We think she’ll give more than enough love for one dog.? If you love the low riders and think Bella could fit into your lifestyle please fill out an application at pittiesandpals.com
