Story
We're thrilled to welcome the newest little lady, Bella! When we saw a plea to rescue Bella from an overcrowded inner city shelter we knew we had to make it happen, as she wasn't doing well. Bella is a middle aged, pittie mix and what she's mixed with is anyone's guess! Corgi? Bassett hound? Dachshund? Definitely something with short legs! She's the ultimate low rider, with her creamy brown coat, big ears and adorable bunny hop-run. She has a calm, sweet temperament jumping up lightly to give hugs. Bella is as snug as a bug in a rug? Her favorite place is cuddled underneath her favorite blanket! So what if it’s June??? This girl knows how to get comfy. When it comes to being cute and adorable Bella understands the assignment. She enjoys short walks, quick zoomies in the yard, peanut butter treats and of course her blankie! She’s a low maintenance gal and doesn’t mind being your couch buddy. A ride in the car or a trip to a local brewery are good with her too as long as she’s with her people. Bella is ok around other dogs but prefers not to share a home with them, she wants her family allllll to herself. We think she’ll give more than enough love for one dog.? If you love the low riders and think Bella could fit into your lifestyle please fill out an application at pittiesandpals.com

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ada! Ada is a sensitive soul with a sad story. Ada had a home, but no love. She was originally adopted as a puppy and once she had a litter, her family dumped her a a kill shelter as she was no longer 'useful' to them. Ada can be shy with new people, but once she warms up to you, she is yours forever and becomes the most loving wiggle butt! Ada will need someone who is willing to visit her a number of times and follow our instructions until she becomes familiar with you. She is so affectionate and she just LOVES to play! We are unsure what her mix is, but she appears to have Corgi in her.  She weighs in at about 20 lbs. and walks well on a leash. Our volunteers have had her on outings, and she has been very well behaved. Ada plays well with other dogs once she has been properly introduced, but she would like to be the love of your life, and the only four-legged family member at home. She is ready to meet her forever family! If you are interested in meeting Ada and/or our other adoptable pets, please complete an application at save.rescuegroups.org/forms/Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 1, 2024, 3:29 pm

Story
Ollie came to Brooklyn two years ago via a rescue organization, prior to which he spent two years in a Texas shelter. We estimate he is around eight years old, so he has plenty of energy for long walks but also enjoys just laying around the home. He is cuddly and affectionate, and recently has shown his playful side by playing fetch. He is not fearful and rarely barks, and he gets along well with dogs of all types. He respects the home, never destroying anything aside from the occasional book/magazine, and he has never had an accident in the house. He can be left home alone for the entire workday and seems to handle it well. Given his rural upbringing he is wary of strangers, ignoring them while outside but getting territorial when they enter the home; unfortunately he will try to bite new people that try to handle him. He also has a chronic cough that the vet cannot solve, likely due to prolonged heartworm during his earlier years, though he is otherwise very healthy.
