Story
Tony is a 1-2 year old ridiculously ridiculously good looking fellow. His scruffy blonde coat, muscular body, and tiny legs will leave you bewildered, awestruck, and smitten. He is about 35lbs and a corgi terrier mix. However, this is only a guess. Tony’s origins are a mystery to us. One thing is certain, he is such a love! Tony gets along with other dogs and adores humans. Tony knows basic commands and prides himself on his exceptional listening skills.    Tony would love to be part of an adult home. He is a nap/cuddle enthusiast, but also enjoys running around with his toys in tow. In his past life, we think he was a food critic. Tony just loves food! He really enjoys it when you toss a delicious treat into his crate and let him enjoy each morsel. Tony also loves car rides and is quiet when left alone at home. He is such a perfect companion.   While he’s been calm around the cats he has seen, he never lived with one while in our care. Thus, we cannot be certain about how he would do. He does live with another dog and they are great friends! Tony is house broken and crate trained. He is very bright, eager to please, and enjoys a good belly rub.    Tony asks that you keep this cool and natural when meeting. He does not always run up to every human he meets and can take time to warm up. However, if youre his kind of human, he just knows and the spark is instant. Are you Tony’s kind of human?   If interested in adopting, please complete an application, which can be found on our website at www.twentypawsrescue.com/forms-applications. Please note that due to an email glitch, sometimes emails get lost. We respond to all emails. So, if you don’t hear back from us, please follow up.      May 18, 2023, 12:03 am

Story
Jasmine (born: 3/20/2012) is 10 years old and 22 pounds. We were told that her parents were a Collie and a Chihuahua, but we think she looks like a Corgi / Sheltie mix. We call Jasmine the Elizabeth Taylor of dogs, because she is like a glamorous, iconic, movie star – very discerning about who she makes friends with. If you are gentle and let her warm up to you, you will pass the test and Jasmine will absolutely adore you! Jasmine loves to be admired, brushed, being with you, she enjoys her walks and is housebroken. We really appreciate that you want to give a shelter animal a home. The Humane Society of New York was founded in 1904. The Vladimir Horowitz/Wanda Toscanini Horowitz Adoption Center is a no-kill shelter. Our on-site clinic and staff of skilled Veterinarians looks after the health and well-being of every animal here. We also have a great adoption matchmaking team who will gladly take your profile and match you or your pet with just the right cat or dog companion. We start the process once you have submitted an application to us. Once a completed application is received, the HSNY Adoption Team will review it and we will contact you if we are going to take next steps. FOR AN APPLICATION, please visit http://humanesocietyny.org/adoptions/ and download then email your application to hsny.adopt@gmail.com. Our one and only location is: 306 East 59th Street (between 1st & 2nd Avenue) in Manhattan. If you'd like to sponsor Jasmine, please email amk.hsny@verizon.net. You can give as much or as little as you like. Your donation is tax deductible. Thank you! For additional information on the Humane Society of New York, please visit: humanesocietyny.org. Thank you!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Kitty gets along well with dogs. She lived with her foster mom and other dogs. One dog was sorting out and she was a bit aggressive, but Kitty wasn't aggressive at all. Kitty likes people. But it takes a while for her to get used to it. She's basically a quiet and cautious dog, as she's not a dog with high energy levels. Treat children like adults Her relationship with cat is similar to her current relationship with the dogs around her. She's basically a dog that understands sit, wait, no. She likes to walk a lot, but she's a bit stubborn, so she tends to just sit and stay if there's a spot she wants. There is a slight imbalance in the muscles on one side of the leg. I was diagnosed at the hospital, but the doctor said it was not enough to treat it yet. Her doctor said she may have had a nutritional imbalance when she was puppy.
