Meet Numi | Apply Here | Videos Numi is a petite 35lb, 6 year old Jindo mix with a long body and little legs. In 2020, our team and partners rescued over 100 dogs from a factory in Paju, South Korea. What originally started as a few dogs on the property, rapidly became a hoarding situation where the gene pool was very limited. Despite the guardian’s efforts, things were quickly out of his control and rescuers needed to step in. Since then, Numi’s two puppies and most of the relatives of the rescue have found wonderful forever homes all over the world. This girl is a little extra special though, so her adoption journey has taken a bit longer. Currently, she’s been diagnosed as fully blind in both eyes due to advanced cataracts and chronic glaucoma. Numi is absolutely in no pain from this though, and proves more every day how resilient she is! At first meet, you might not even realize that she’s blind - she maneuvers very well both inside and out, engages with her fosters happily, and lifts her head to sniff the fresh air often. Numi is very mellow and lowkey - she loves a good nap and adores belly rubs and neck scritches. Though she needs a special family willing to take things slow and tackle the world with her, she’s honestly a perfect little gal. She does wonderfully in her crate, is good with her house training, triumphs obstacles and new paths outside like a pro, and is already becoming more and more playful. She would thrive most outside of the city since she can be a little unsure of loud city noises. For now, we’re only having private meet and greets for lovely Numi to reduce her stress and avoid overstimulating her in the city. But don’t let that stop you from applying!! She was rescued from euthanasia at a city shelter in Korea. • Rescue Story Bori was rescued from a difficult environment and has since been given the chance to live in a safe home setting. When she first arrived, she was shy and cautious around people, especially unfamiliar ones. Over time, while living with her foster family, she has slowly begun to open up and show her gentle and thoughtful personality. With patience and consistency, Bori continues to grow more comfortable with human interaction and daily routines. • Personality: Gentle, mellow, and sweet • Bathing: She's afraid of water but tolerates it well. • Brushing: She doesn't like it, but she tolerates it • Shedding: Moderate • Energy level: 3 on a scale of 1-10 • Eating habits: Not picky, eats everything except for fruit • Allergies: None identified • Walking manners: Loves to sniff. No leash pulling • Dislikes: She's scared of loud noises • Favorite things: kisses, treats, and zoomies • Car rides (motion sickness): Loves car rides • House-trained: indoors on pee-pads • Barking/Howling: Rarely barks. Very quiet. • Separation anxiety: None • Crate-trained: Never crate-trained, but she knows how to go in and stay. • Aggression: none • Commands: Shake hands, sit, kisses • Additional Notes Bori is naturally shy and tends to be cautious around adult men. She enjoys treats very much and absolutely loves car rides—especially drives where she can feel the breeze through an open window. She would do well in most households, but because she prefers outdoor potty breaks, at least one daily walk is essential. Due to her mild separation anxiety, a home where long or frequent absences are common may be challenging for her. Bori is a smart, gentle, and well-mannered dog who adapts well to her environment. She is not picky about food and eats very well. When raised with patience and love, she becomes affectionate and gives that love back wholeheartedly. She is hoping to find a family who can offer her plenty of care, consistency, and affection.
