Story
She’s 1 years old and she is an absolute sweetie pie. She’s very shy and she bark at new people but she’ll learn to get comfortable and love you. She is potty trained on pee mats and loves the outdoors. She does tend to get scared easily but she is super playful. My schedule got super busy and I am unable to give her the attention she needs. What I am looking for in a home for her is just super loving and caring people who can give her all the love and attention she deserves.

Story
We acquired Winston in June 2025 after his momma passed away. We have 2 other dogs, a male and female. We've noticed Winston doesn't get along well with male dogs and prefers women. He is housebroken but occasionally pees in the house. Unsure why, but does well with a dog door. When we first got him we didn't have a dog door and put out a pee pad and he would use it. We assume his momma used these as well. He doesn't chew on shoes but I go to Goodwill periodically to get him blankets, as he likes to chew them, so he doesn't get our blankets. He's a sweet dog and he still likes to play. He plays with our female dog daily. And he likes to chase me around the house. Unsure how old he is. Somewhere between 10-15. Doesn't appear to have any health conditions, other than being overweight, which we've been working on.

If you do not receive confirmation from us, email adoptions@hsnb.org . -----ELLA is a gentle, resilient little dachshund mix who's come a long way in foster care. Once too scared to even come inside, she now seeks affection on her own terms and loves curling up in a warm lap for hours once she feels safe.Personality:Shy at first, but blossoms with patienceSweet, passive with humans-never snarls, loves being held like a babyCurious and playful, especially with other dogs (though she can be cranky if not in the mood)Rarely barks, making her a peaceful companionQuirks & Charms:Adorable one‑up, one‑down ears and a gorgeous coatBurrows under blankets like a true dachshundEats politely with other dogs and isn't picky about treatsHouse‑trained and uses the doggie door confidentlyNeeds:Bella has experienced trauma, so she'll thrive in a very patient, understanding home. She may try to hide or slip away during transitions, so a secure, well‑fitted harness is essential. Walks are still a work in progress-she's more excited about car rides and backyard adventures than sniffing on leash.Best Home:A calm, loving household that can give Bella time to trust and show her affectionate side. Once she bonds, she's incredibly loyal, cuddly, and will happily spend the night snuggled close. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Tan Weight: 17.2 Age: 3yrs 3mths 2wks
