Rider is around 4-5 years old. He is a great watch dog and loves to patrol the yard. He is a little timid at first but once he gets to know you he is your best friend. He loves to sit in your lap. He may be better as an only dog or with another mellow dog. We have other pets who play roughly and he does not like to participate. He is used to a doggy door. He came from a shelter and was very very thin when we adopted him, we do not know his previous history. We have had him for 4 years. He walks very well on a leash, no pulling and loves to go to the dog park. He knows the sit command and will "wait" to eat until you tell him and he loves treats (especially watermelon!) He spins around when he's excited or wants a treat. We feel he would be happier with someone who is home alot in a quieter environment.

Story
This little man has been through IT! We pulled him from a city shelter after we received a plea that he was attacked by another dog in the kennel and was in bad shape. He also lost his ear and it was severely infected. He has made a full recovery physically but he is sometimes head shy with new people so you have to take it slow with him and let him move at his pace. He is probably younger than he appears but had a hard life before being rescued. He is fine with other dogs and cats. He would also be happy as the only pet. Crate trained, working on house training, great on leash, not a barker.

Ducky was found as a stray. Initially he was very shy but now he's come out of his shell and he smiles! Cool with other animals but would also be fine as an only dog. Crate trained. Working on house training. Ducky is 3 years old. Sweet little man.

Dobby is the best little guy, and so ready to add life and love to a home of his own. He sleeps through the night in his crate like a champ, and he is fully house trained. This is so major and impressive for a one year old pup and also shows just how intelligent he is. He loves routine as much as he loves relaxing in the sunshine. He is the star of the dog park, and plays well with other dogs in that environment. He's fast and agile, with bursts of energy that are nothing short of impressive. I found him to be easily trainable, as he is motivated by snacks! When he is tuckered out or winding down before bed, he loves to cuddle and play with a toy next to you. He loves hopping in the car and doing errands with you, the perfect companion. This handsome and super soft Pup is so ready for a forever home that can show him stability and care. He’s barks around new people and kids, but with time and consistency and training, he quickly calms down.

Pretty little Gidget is a 15 lb Chiweenie with a gentle spirit and the sweetest personality. She has a soft, shiny black coat with a touch of white on her chest and around her muzzle, and she’s the perfect combination of cuddly, playful and calm. Gidget was picked up as a stray and brought to the Riverside shelter, where she was absolutely terrified. She was so scared and shy that she wouldn’t approach anyone, and sadly, no one showed interest in her. When she was placed on the euthanasia list, we stepped in to save her. Once Gidget was given the time and space she needed to feel safe, her true personality began to shine. She now comes to her people for affection and loves being petted and held. Even when she was at her most frightened, Gidget never growled, showed her teeth or attempted to bite. Gidget is quiet, well-mannered, intelligent and incredibly loyal. She has a mellow, calming presence and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loving little dog to share their life with. She also has a playful side and especially enjoys wrestling and playing with other small dogs. Because of her shy nature, Gidget will do best in a calm, secure home with someone who will give her a little time to settle in. Once she feels safe, she bonds deeply and has so much affection to give. Gidget is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and fully dog-door trained.
