Colonel Sanders “Sandy“ is a 3 year old sweet neutered male Doxie Mix who was found living at a KFC for over a month before a fellow rescuer rescued him and brought him to Lovejoy. He is a happy, healthy boy who has a gentle temperament and is good with other dogs We hold an event every weekend at our facility on SATURDAY and SUNDAY 11-5pm and open to the public. It is first come first serve we do not evaluate applications prior to an event. If there are multiple interested parties in the same dog or puppy at the same time we would pick the best out of the 10 applications. Please visit our social media platforms for the specifics for each weekend as it changes from week to week. The Lovejoy Foundation, Inc. does not adopt beyond a 30 mile radius from our headquarters in Inglewood. Meet Trio! Trio is a sweet boy, 4 years old, weighing about 11 lbs. Trio is a dachshund and chihuahua mix. At one time in Trio's life, he was attacked by a big dog and had to have his right rear leg amputated but that hasn't slowed him down one bit. He runs circles at high speed in the yard playing with the other foster dogs at his foster home. He does get along with other dogs. He loves walks and going for rides in the car. Jack is approximately 5 years of age and weighs in at 11 lbs. He is a Chiweenie, Dachshund Chihuahua mix (according to his DNA test). Jack has a story to tell! He was hit by a car on Halloween night, 2024 and was left in a box on the side of the road. A good Samaritan found him and our rescue took him in. He had severe injuries and required surgery where pins and wires on his right elbow were required. His left shoulder sustained extensive nerve damage, and on December 26, 2024, his left leg had to be amputated. Having three legs has not stopped Jack from being a spunky little guy - dogs are so resilient!!! Jack currently resides in a foster home with 4 dogs and several cats. He is a quiet, loving, lap dog. He loves being close to his humans, if you sit down, he is right there jumping into your lap. He enjoys going for walks and riding in the dog stroller observing his surroundings. He enjoys playing fetch with his squeaky toys! Jack gets along well with his foster canine siblings. He would thrive better as an only dog or, with proper introduction, he would do well with another small dog closer to his size. Jacks foster is retired so he is rarely home alone. A home with a secure yard would be perfect for him. An adult only home or a household with older children is the best fit for him. He does have difficulty with stairs. He is doing well with housetraining. He is low shedding. Jack is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped. A meet and greet can be arranged with an approved adoption application.
