Hershey spent her whole life with her family that adored her. A heartbreaking chapter occurred when her family was no longer able to care for Hershey and searched for a no-kill shelter where she would be safe. At 13-years-old, Hershey still acts like a young pup that enjoys zoomies and walks. She loves people including kids, but does need to be the only pet in a home. She is excellent at playing fetch and does this cute little dance when she gets excited. She is a 20lb Chihuahua with a beautiful chocolate coat. She is potty trained, crate trained and loves to snuggle. She will pull on the leash if she sees another dog walking past, but is easily corrected. Hershey has a couple senior "beauty marks" that the veterinarian said are not concerning and is in overall good health plus she is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is just looking to be loved again and bring joy to a new home!! Brooklyn is a one year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix).  30 pounds- and yes, she needs to be on a diet!  Good with other dogs and all the people she meets, including children.  Adopter will be required to have her spayed and brought up to date on her vaccines and testing. Brooklyn is in our direct-from owner program.  Chesed Rescue will background and vet check all applicants and adoption will be directly from the owner.  There will be no adoption fee, though donations to the rescue are appreciated.
