You can find these applications by going to http://humanemorgan.org/index.php?page=adoption ABOUT ADOPTING FROM THE HSMC: The shelter address is 1170 Fairground Rd. Madison, GA 30650. For more information on any of our pets, please feel free to email us at INFO@HUMANEMORGAN.ORG give us a call at 706-343-9977. All dogs are heartworm negative, current on vaccines/dewormings, and microchipped. All cats are current on vaccines/deworming, and microchipped. We are open 12pm-5pm Sunday-Friday and 10 am-5pm on Saturday, we schedule our last adoption at 4pm everyday to allow our staff enough time to feed and walk dogs. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Please consider the time and commitment it takes to provide the necessary building blocks for these special babies, prior to submitting your application. If you have any questions please email us at info@humanemorgan.org and provide name of the animal you are interested in, in the subject line. Thank you, HSMC Staff ADOPTION FEES Adoption Fees may change without notice. Story
Jax is a soon-to-be 5-month-old dachshund puppy who is full of energy, love, and personality. He is playful, affectionate, curious, and loves being around people. Like most dachshund puppies, he enjoys exploring, playing, and being involved in whatever is going on around him. He is currently being potty trained and is comfortable using puppy pads. Jax would do best in a home that has the time and patience to continue his training and provide him with the attention, playtime, and consistency that puppies need during this stage of life. He is a sweet, loving boy, and my goal is to find a home that is a great match for his personality and energy level so he can continue to thrive. After careful thought, I've realized that Jax would benefit from a home that can better match his needs during this important stage of development. My priority is finding the right family for him, where he can receive the time, attention, and engagement he deserves.

Story
Morty is a senior Dachshund mix with a heart full of love and a strong desire to be wherever his people are. At around 10+ years old and 16 lbs, he’s the definition of a Velcro dog: if you’re home, Morty will be right by your side, in your lap, or snuggled under a blanket near you. Morty is mostly potty trained and does a great job letting you know when he needs to go outside. He walks nicely on a harness and enjoys spending time with other small dogs and cats. While he can coexist with larger dogs, he seems most comfortable around dogs his own size. Like many long-backed breeds, Morty will need ramps or stairs to help protect his back and should not be jumping on and off furniture. He’s also not a good off-leash candidate because once he decides to go exploring, he’s not likely to come back when called! Morty is a sweet, affectionate boy who thrives on attention and companionship. He can be a little anxious when he can’t be near his people and may whine or bark to let you know he’d rather be included. Because of this, he’ll do best with a family that understands his clingy nature and will shower him with the love he craves. For his age, Morty is in great health. He recently had a dental procedure and only has a few teeth remaining, so he does best eating soft food. The good news? He’s very food motivated and always excited for mealtime. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will happily spend his days cuddled up next to you, Morty may be your perfect match! To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org His adoption fee is $350, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.

Story
**You must live in Metro Atlanta to adopt her** Just like her famous namesake, Liza Minnelli knows she’s a star… the only difference is she’d rather perform zoomies than Broadway numbers. Liza is a 5 year old, 13 lb Poodle mix (with what we suspect is a splash of Dachshund) who has perfected the art of living her best life. Her daily schedule is simple: eat breakfast, immediately request a potty break, race around the yard with her foster siblings at top speed, play with every toy she can find, demand belly rubs, and then curl up next to her favorite human like she pays the bills. She’s incredibly loyal and happiest when she’s with her family. Whether you’re watching TV, working from home, or just existing, Liza believes your lap (or at least the spot right beside you) is exactly where she belongs. She’s also a bit of a food critic. Fancy training treats? Meh. Carrots? Hard pass. Fruit? Absolutely not. She’d like to file a formal complaint that affection isn’t sold by the pound because belly rubs are the only reward she truly values. Liza is crate trained while you’re away, enjoys the comfort of a routine, and is ready to bring plenty of laughs, love, and cuddles to her forever family. If you’re looking for a tiny best friend with a big personality, championship-level zoomies, and an endless supply of snuggles, Liza Minnelli is ready for her standing ovation. Unfortunately, Liza's previous home did not keep her on heartworm preventative, so she does have heartworms. Her treatment is included in the adoption fee, but this is why she must stay in Metro Atlanta, so she can get to our vet partners. Apply to adopt her on www.orphanannierescue.org Her adoption fee is $400, which includes her shots up-to-date, microchipping, spay, dental cleaning, and heartworm treatment.
