Story
Please contact ADOPTION (adopt@doggieharmony.org) for more information about this pet.Needs a quiet, stable home Vinnie would prefer an older person or couple who are retired and live a quiet lifestyle. He’s very sweet!! He’s been my baby for the past couple years but I run a rescue and have many dogs in and out of our home which make him uncomfortable. I adore him and understand he deserves better. He needs medicine for liver function milk thistle vitamins or Denmarin work fine. In his past he ate grapes or raisins which has caused his liver enzymes to be higher than average. He was turned in to us when owner passed. He had been living in her bedroom his entire life. These are the reasons we are looking for a quiet, consistent home life and someone who will manage his supplements to keep him healthy. Age: 6 years Weight: 12 lbs Temperament: Gets along with older adults.  Really wants to be only dog. Training: Housetrained, crate-trained, has basic training Vetting: neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative Email for questions:    http://loramyers51@yahoo.com To ensure we're meeting both pet and adopters' needs, we ask potential adopters to complete an Adoption Application (www.bit.ly/DH-Adoption) for caretakers to review. Once your application is approved, we will bring the adoptable pet to your home for a preliminary visit. We are 100% donation-funded and our fees are equivalent to (or less than) the cost to fully vet a new dog yourself. Please expect an adoption fee of $300; some of our urgent or long-term dogs have discounted fees.March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm

Story
Meet Cooper: Sweet, Loyal Boy Looking for a Calm Home I found Cooper on the streets of Houston around 2015, (so he is about 11) and he has been such a loving and faithful companion ever since. He bonds deeply with his people and has a gentle, sweet nature. As our family has grown busier with young kids and nonstop schedules, I’ve realized Cooper deserves more time and attention than I can currently give. He spends too much time crated during the day, and that isn’t fair to him. Cooper would thrive in a calmer home. He can get anxious with a lot of loud activity and doesn’t like thunderstorms. A quiet household or older couple with a yard where he can run and relax would be ideal. My goal is to find him a safe, stable, and loving forever home where he can truly flourish. Cooper has an older brother Dash who may need a home as well if interested please let me know. He is not active like Cooper and has bad arthritis but deserves more time and attention than I have right now :(

Story
Meet Shallot! Say hello to this darling 4.3-pound fawn colored Dachshund mix with a big personality packed into a tiny frame. She’s confident and a bit of an alpha, but her sweet, affectionate nature makes her irresistible. Shallot loves being around people, settles down quickly after playtime, and has been wonderfully quiet when tucked in for the night. This little girl also sports a unique feature—her tail ends in the cutest little ball, likely a birth quirk that only adds to her charm. Shallot has bounced back beautifully after an early, mild case of parvo. Thanks to quick treatment and lots of love and great care, she’s now healthy, happy, and full of that signature Dachshund bravery and spirit. The vet doesn’t expect any future problems, though other dogs in her future home should be fully vaccinated. She’s making steady progress with her potty training and is currently used to being in a pen rather than a crate. With her mix of confidence, sweetness, and those soulful Dachshund eyes, Shallot is ready to wiggle her way into her forever family’s heart. Story
Hi My official name is Boone Bones and I am a year old doxie/maltese/poodle. I weigh 12 pounds and have a very soft fluffy coat.   The people in the foster home gave me a new name --Dash!  They say it is a good name as I am dashingly handsome, I dash around everywhere outside and my coat has a dash of every color. I think they think it is cute like me!   I am crate trained and go to sleep instantly at night.  I may bark a little in the crate when left during the day.  I have gotten to be potty trained since I got here a couple of weeks ago. It was raining a lot yesterday and I had what they called a back slide on that but will work it out. I live now with 3 small dogs and I really like them. We play chase, attack and gnaw on each other- we all have long hair. I haven't been around big dogs so might have to get used to that. I used to be around a toddler so I should be ok with kids.   I am super sweet and gentle and adore my people. New folks may take a minute. I am not a big barker, but do bark at new things , people and dogs.  After a minute I am fine.  I need to be taken on adventures so I can experience new things and that will get rid of my fear since I have had a very sheltered life so far.     I am no longer a puppy and need to find my forever home so I can grow and learn with my family.  I would love a fenced yard as the doxie in me likes to hunt.  The maltipoo just wants to lay on my back in your lap for belly rubs.   Hope you will consider me to be your Forever dog!   Love,  Boone Bones PS: you can tell from the pictures I have had a big haircut since I got here!
