Story
Got him as a puppy. He has been such an amazing dog. He absolutely loves cuddling and does not leave your side. He loves being loved. He walks great on a leash and loves to carry packages and mail back home. He is great with other dogs, at dog parks he’d rather be sitting next to you instead of playing with the rest of the dogs. We brought home our baby in August and he has been very protective of him but does not allow my husband, family, or friends around the baby. I hate to rehome him as I’ve had since he was a puppy but my husband is tired of being barked at every time he’s around the baby.

Story
We found Lucy at a shelter in 2016 and thought she was the cutest puppy there was. Her big ears and beautiful brown eyes made her an instant adoption. We have had her for about 9 years now and throughout those years she has been the sweetest girl to us and our Cat, Fifi. Even though she isn’t too fond of other dogs, she is the best with people. Right now our family is running into some major financial problems and I just can’t take care of her like I wish I could. She deserves the best, so we are hoping to find a calm home, preferably with no animals, that is willing to be there for her, and love her as much as we do.

Story
Meet Cosmo Zephyr - The Sweetest Little Sidekick in Search of His Forever Home! Cosmo Zephyr, better known simply as Cosmo, is a 6–7-week-old bundle of joy who is ready to charm his way into the heart of a lucky adopter! This adorable Dachshund-mix pup has short legs, long body, and beautiful red Vizsla-like head and coloring that makes everyone he meets stop and smile. With a very soft medium coat and expressive little face, he turns heads everywhere he goes! Cosmo currently weighs just 5 pounds, making him an easy little companion to scoop up and cuddle. Cosmo is a playful, toy-loving, puppy who enjoys romping around with his “nanny,” a gentle 79 pound German Shepherd. He absolutely adores other dogs and greets new canine friends with enthusiasm. (He hasn’t been tested with cats yet.) He’s also wonderfully people-oriented. He loves adults, kids, and anyone willing to offer a cuddle, belly rub, or soft blanket to burrow into. Cosmo is especially fond of being wrapped up and carried around like the world’s cutest burrito! When the excitement settles, Cosmo becomes a cuddly little shadow. He’ll curl up at your feet while you work on the computer, snooze in your lap during TV time, and will happily sleep next to you at night. He does still wake up and need a potty break during the night, normal for a puppy his age, but he’s already learning to go potty outside and is doing well for such a young guy. He has the occasional indoor accident, but they’re tiny and easy to clean up. He even learned how to go up and down stairs at just five weeks old - smart boy! Cosmo is food-motivated and never misses a meal. He’s also very gentle, even though he’s in the puppy-biting stage, and responds well to redirection with toys or chew bones. He rides wonderfully in the car and will curl up on a blanket in the passenger seat and drift off to sleep. He’s quiet by nature and typically only makes noise when he needs something. Cosmo shows no signs of trauma or fear - just pure, happy puppy energy. With his current size and age, he will likely grow to around 30 pounds, making him a perfect medium-sized companion for almost any family. He gets a lot of attention everywhere he goes because of his unique looks, sweetheart personality, and gentle nature. Health & Care Notes: • Current on age-appropriate vaccines (will need additional puppy boosters) • Heartworm negative • Will need to be neutered when old enough • No known health issues • Thrives with toys, stuffed animals, chew bones, and plenty of affection Cosmo is ready to bring joy, laughter, and snuggles to a forever family who will love him as much as he loves them. If you're looking for a playful, gentle, and irresistibly cute puppy who enjoys companionship and adventure, Cosmo might just be your perfect match. If you think Cosmo could be part of your family, we’d love to introduce you! Story
Jaid came to DREAM after her owners never returned for her while staying with neighbor. She’s a sweet little gal looking for a place to land and a lap to cuddle on. We know very little about her past (not even her age-its just a guess) but we have followed some clues that lead us to believe she’s had back surgery in the past. She walks just fine and to the untrained eye she walks with an adorable swish. She has had all her regular vetting (shots, tests, spay) and also some imaging. She was having some issues and scanned showed cystitis and she is being treated for that. Don’t let all that medical talk fool ya, this gal is got spunk and is living out loud with many years left to share her passion for taking in all life has to give. If you are interested in adopting Jaid, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Jaid's adoption fee is $500. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Jaid will go to his / her new home microchipped, spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
I'm Sprout, and I am 110% dachshund. I have it ALL -- everything you've heard about dachshunds? I've got it. Snuggly? Check. Food motivated? Yup. Nosy up in all your business? Oh yeah. Demanding of attention? See nosy. Burrow under blankies? All the time. Barky? BARK BARK Back problems? Yup, but I'm a trooper. Funny? SO FUNNY. Sweet kisses? I got 'em. Prey drive. Oh yeah. Show me the squirrel. Nippy with strangers? Well, they're strangers. Duh. Then I sit in their lap. I'm 9 pounds of love and pure nerve. I love my people and I love my doggie friends. I'm a big fan of the couch cuddle and the wrestling zoomies. Adults and kiddos over 10 only please. I had a disc rupture (darn dachshund genes) but I walk pretty normally now. I can run and play but I cannot do stairs. (I can climb a ramp.) I have pretty good control of my bladder but if you give me a little extra squeeze when we go outside (foster mom will teach you), I don't leak in the house. I am about to start some physical therapy to improve my core strength, which will help with that. PILATES, anyone? I am a delight to be around and a real charmer. If you are interested in adopting Sprout, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Sprout's adoption fee is $400. Story
Midnight ended up at animal control after his owners abandoned him at a clinic. He was held for a while but with so many dogs he ended up on the euthanasia list. Can you imagine? This little guy is a very nice dog with a great temperament. He loves to hang with his people way more than the other dogs at his foster home. He appears to prefer the company of the females in the foster home pack. His foster family believe he is mixed with corgi or other herding breed because he has a habit of jumping and mouthing to get attention. Midnight is not rally a vocal dog. But when he has something to say it is in a a "Big Dog" bark but the good news is he's not a huge barker unless he's excited about something. Midnight sleeps quietly in a crate like a gentleman. Midnight is completely potty trained. He no longer takes any medicine for anything but when he did he took it like a champ. He loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you to throw again. He loves to go for loooooooong leash walks. He needs a home with people that will dedicate time to his daily walks. This guy absolutely loves to explore the back yard and will definitely need a fenced yard. He is working on waiting but still is a BIG Door Darter. He is very excited to GO, GO, GOI! A home with adults and everyone over 16yrs is needed so he doesn’t sneak out past a kiddo. ✅ Sweet guy ✅ loves to walk & play with toys ✅ crate trained 🚫 door dasher so no young kiddos ✅ housetrained ✅ smart and eager to learn If you are interested in adopting Midnight, you can fill out an application right on our website!
