Story
Hey Y’all! I’m Andarna, but my foster Mom calls me Andi for short and says I look like a Doxie Shitzu mix. I’m only 9 pounds and 8 months old. My eye was injured and now I only have one. I’ve adjusted well though. I’m smart and independent for a pup.   I love my toys and play well on my own, but also like playing with my foster dog siblings and cuddling with my foster Mom. I’m healthy, spayed and current on my vaccines. I’ve started learning to go wee outside, but need some time for it to stick. I can use the pee pad too.    Fommy says I need a home without cats because I need to be careful with my eye. So who’s going to be my new Mom or Dad? Hurry, I can’t wait to love you! An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms  Please be sure to like our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org  Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.          December 6, 2023, 8:01 am

Story
Jack and his 4 Doxie friends came to Furkids when their owner had to move and could not take them along. Jack is a little shy and scared in the shelter, but he does get along with other dogs. Jack enjoys short walks so he can smell anything and everything. Jack loves to bury himself under his blankets, in his kennel and pops out his little nose for treats! Jack has early stage chronic valvular disease. He should be monitored with echocardiogram every 6 months and his exercise restricted. He has signs of pulmonary hypertension and is being treated with Sildenafil, which will likely be for life. Unfortunately Jack is also incontinent but that doesn't slow him down when it's dinner time! Jack weighs 20lbs. Jack is approximately 9 years old (est. birthdate is 4/23/2014) and his adoption fee is $175. Jack has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you are interested in adopting Jack, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Right? Can you EVEN with that sweet look on his face? Buddy Ross is a total nugget; we kind of love him - but yeah, we love them alllll, so there's that. Through no fault of his own, Buddy comes to DREAM after his previous owner became unable to care for him. He's been loved his whole life, and he has a lot of love to give. He enjoys playing with toys, and gets on well with other dogs. We aren't sure about cats. Buddy is an Isabella dachshund (silvery blue fur) and like most Isabellas, he has some hair loss aka alopecia. He doesn't take medicine for it, but would need sun protectiuon like anyone else if he were exposed to the elements. He'll also want a little doggo sweater in the colder weather. His previous owner used to put Skin-So-Soft on him which he responded well to. He's accustomed to using wee-pads to do his biznezz, but we're working on getting him used to the idea of fertilizing the grass instead and going outside. He's a smart cookie, so things are going well. If you're looking for a friendly, low-key, playful companion look no further than Buddy Ross. More info and photos coming soon! Complete an application right online. If you are interested in adopting Buddy Ross, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Buddy Ross's adoption fee is $350. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Buddy Ross will go to his new home microchipped, neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccinations, and with all other medical needs addressed. We've also given him a dental for sweet kissy breath. Almost every dog's veterinary expenses exceed our adoption fees; we are a non-profit. DREAM is an all-volunteer rescue group. We focus on the metro Atlanta area and can assist throughout the state of Georgia. Since our rescue is entirely run and staffed by volunteers, our ability to travel long distances for adoptions is somewhat limited. We focus on Georgia, but if you are in a neighboring state, we might be able to work something out - we'll expect you to do your part. DREAM does not recommend purebred dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a doxie's back. Follow us on Instagram , Facebook and Twitter

Story
*Cici is having her vetting done, so we aren't accepting applications on here just yet. Cici is such a gentle little soul, easygoing and laid back, and we just love her around here. She came from the care of an elderly couple who could no longer care for her properly, and surrendered her to DREAM for her own golden years. She appreciates the other dogs in her foster home, but she doesn't necessarily seek them out for company. That being said, she does have a few favourites that she enjoys grooming until they fall asleep together. She also parks herself in her foster dad's home office all day and really enjoys spending time there and being his assistant. She's a big fan of her crate and will go there when she wants a snooze, and when she's kept on a regular schedule of opportunities to potty, she goes outside like the good girl she is. Complete an application for this nugget today. If you are interested in adopting Cici, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Cici's adoption fee is $300. All adoption fees go directly to veterinary care for DREAM dachshunds. Bella Anne is such a little lady... but a lady who loves her food (LIKE MEEEEE!) She eats as if there's no tomorrow (typical dachshund) and is happy to 'help' everyone else finish their food too. She's very sweet with a loving and affectionate temperament and enjoys the company of other dogs and people. She potties outside, too! More to come on Bella Anne as we get to know her. Zhoe's foster mama calls her Princess, because she has a bit of a timidness to her. She's a quiet girl, never any trouble, and would do best in a more quiet household due to her personality. As you can see from the photo, she loves her brother Maxil, and he her, but they are not bonded and can be adopted separately. Brand new to the DREAMlife, we'll post more as we get to know her. If you are interested in adopting Zhoe, you can fill out an application right on our website! Go to our online adoption application. Zhoe's adoption fee is $350.
