Story
Pleakley is a gentle soul with a shy but lovable personality. He may take a little time to warm up, but once he does, he’s all in! He’s kennel trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and is well on his way to being fully potty trained. Pleakley truly shines during playtime and will light up when it’s time for fun. With a little patience and a lot of love, Pleakley will make a loyal and loving companion. Currently 10-12 weeks old & weighs 9.5 lbsApply to adopt at CharmingPetRescue.org/adoptIMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.June 4, 2025, 4:35 am

Story
Meet Levi – a joyful little guy with a big heart and a second chance at life! Levi may have started life in a puppy mill, but you’d never know it from his bright spirit and happy wiggles. This silky-soft wire dachshund is soaking up all the love, freedom, and fun that come with being out of a kennel and into a caring foster home. Levi is a social butterfly who loves being around people. He’s not one for alone time—he prefers to be in the action, playing with toys (yes, all the toys!), riding in the car, or just tagging along wherever you go. He’s also great with other dogs, though he’d be perfectly happy as your one-and-only too. Levi was born with a congenital eye condition that causes one of his pupils to stay dilated. It doesn’t slow him down a bit, but he’ll benefit from doggy sunglasses when outdoors and may need occasional eye drops. Right now, his tear production is low—possibly from his rough start—but it’s being monitored by a vet and may not be permanent. He will need a secure physical fenced yard to explore safely, as he’s still learning leash walking and new outdoor experiences. 💙 Adoption Fee: $400 Levi is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, received a dental, and is on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. 📍 Located in Troy, MO 📝 Apply at leiashope.org 🚨 PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer-run rescue. Applications take 7–10 days to process. Dogs are fostered in private homes. Meet-and-greets happen only after an approved application. We do not ship or transport dogs. Adopters must come to the dog's location. All household members (human and canine) must attend the meet. Dogs are a lifetime commitment. Please apply only if you're ready to give Levi the forever he deserves.

Story
Meet Oscar - Your New Snuggle Sidekick Looking for a pint-sized best frind with a heart of gold? Meet Oscar, a 6-year-old dachshund with a big personality and an even bigger capacity for love. Oscar is the total package - funny, busy, happy, eager to please and a professional snuggler. He's adjusted beautifully to life outside of his past as a breeder dog and is clearly enjoying his new chapter as a free and joyful little man. He gets along great with his foster siblings and is friendly with both men and women. Earlier in his breeder days, Oscar suffered from untreated dental disease that resulted in a fractured jaw. Repair was attempted, however his jaw is still a bit "off". In his recent vetting with us he had another dental. His remaining teeth were so diseased they had to be removed, however he IS left with two teeth. This has not affected his ability to eat as you can see. It is also important that his adopter put him on a weight reduction program. He has lost a couple pounds with his foster mom and once he is at his fighting weight again, he will be more likely to live a long and happy life! Oscar is housebroken and will go potty outside or use potty pads indoors like a champ. He may occasionally "mark" but a gentle reminder is usually all it takes. He walks well on a leash, lives for treat time, and abolutely adores lounging outside in the sunshine. But his favorite thing? Curling up in a cozy chair right next to (or practically on top of) his person. If he could climb inside your skin to be closer, he probably would! Oscar is up to date on his vaccines and ready to find his forever home. Adoption fee: $325.00
