Story
Meet Rome! Rome is a 7-week-old Dachshund/Terrier mix weighing about 5 pounds, and he’s already mastered the art of being both cuddly and curious. His mom is a 20-pound Dachshund mix, and while dad is unknown, Rome’s sweet personality is undeniable. A true mama’s boy, Rome doesn’t love being alone and would thrive in a home where he can be close to his people. He is incredibly people-oriented and bonds quickly, making him a wonderful candidate for dog sports or simply a loyal, loving companion. Rome’s curious nose is always working, especially when treats are involved! He is very treat-motivated, which will make continued training fun and rewarding. He is already excelling at house training and is off to a great start with his puppy skills. This sweet boy gets along great with other dogs, cats, and kids, making him a fantastic fit for many types of families. If you’re looking for a snuggly, devoted puppy who also has an adventurous side, Rome may be your perfect match. 🐾💙

Story
Meet Candy! 🍬 Candy is as sweet as her name and just as delightful once you get to know her. This petite 2-year-old wirehaired dachshund mix may be a bit shy when first meeting new people, but with patience and kindness, she blossoms into the most loving, devoted companion. Candy would do best in a calm, understanding home where she can build confidence at her own pace. Once she feels safe, she loves with her whole heart—especially when it comes to snuggling! She’s fully house trained, enjoys leash walks, and is a joy to have around the house. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, making her a great fit for many households. Candy has made wonderful progress in her foster home and now happily greets her people with excitement when they walk through the door. And if you want to win her over quickly, chicken treats are the way to her heart! If you’re looking for a low-maintenance, affectionate companion who will happily curl up beside you, Candy may be the perfect match.

Freddy is a high-energy, happy-go-lucky boy who is great with dogs and kids! He loves to do big zoomies in a circle, then race right back to you for cuddles. After a long day of playing fetch—where he happily chases the ball, even if he doesn’t always bring it back—Freddy is more than ready to snuggle in. If you’re on the couch, expect him to curl right into your back and soak up the love. Freddy is a joyful, affectionate boy who is absolutely ready to find his forever home. If you want it shorter or extra playful, I can tweak the tone too Local adoption fee is $200(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Sugar Sugar is my name and I am one of 9 puppies born to a small, dachshund/chihuahua mix mom. Unfortunately, she was really skinny except for that big belly that was full of puppies and she couldn’t feed all of us when we were born. So I came to my foster mom to get bottle fed along with 2 of my siblings My sister Pearl was such a fussy girl when she was first born that she refused to drink formula when we came to our bottle feeder. She only drank Goat’s milk so we followed her lead and that is all we would drink too! She was right, it is really good. Fast forward to today, we are 8 weeks old and will get my baby making bits removed on January 5, 2026 and then will be able to go to my forever home. I am not as fussy as my sister Pearl, but do love the little kibbles of puppy food that we are currently eating. I will be a small girl like my mom who is about 15 pounds. And I am as sweet as Sugar too! Local Adoption fee in Texas is $350 Out of state adoption fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $600

Story
Meet Bailey!! Age: 5 years Breed: Basset Hound Status: Spayed, Vaccinated, House-Trained, Dog and Kid friendly Bailey is a sweet, social, and delightfully quirky 5-year-old Basset Hound looking for a home where she can continue to be adored. She has been loved dearly her whole life, but due to her devoted owners’ changing medical needs, she needs a family who can give her the exercise she requires. *What Bailey Needs Bailey was raised by a retired couple and isn’t used to being left alone for long stretches. Her ideal home is with someone who is retired or works from home and has plenty of time to spend with her. Who will continue to treat her like a pampered princess. She doesn’t need a crate and has excellent house manners. *A Hound’s Nose Knows! True to her hound heritage, Bailey loves to sniff and explore the world at her own pace. She’ll thrive with a yard for her normal sniffs and needs an owner who will take her on daily scent-filled walks. Be ready…when Bailey catches a scent, she’s determined! She can pull strong on leash, so she’ll need a confident, steady handler. *Personality Plus Bailey has that classic basset personality: a sweet, loving nature paired with a bit of willful charm. She’s social, playful, and adores her squeaky toys. She’s a couch-lounger with a spunky streak, perfect for someone who appreciates a dog with character. *Other Pets & Kids Bailey enjoyed doggie daycare in her younger years, until one little white dog bit her tail, and she has not forgotten it! Little white dogs are officially on her “nope” list but all others are her friends. Bailey is loves children but does not realize her size, so a home with older kids or adults is best. *Bailey Is Ready for Her Next Chapter If you’re looking for a loyal, funny, affectionate companion who will fill your days with wiggles, sniffing adventures, and plenty of lovable basset hound charm, Bailey may be your perfect match. Fill out an application at www.soardogs.org to meet Bailey and let her steal your heart! Adoption donation required. This covers altering, DAP series vaccinations to date of adoption, Bordetella Vaccination, Rabies vaccination if over four months, Microchip, Deworming, heartworm test (if over 8 months), monthly flea/heartworm prevention to date, grooming, full veterinary examination, and temperament evaluation. All SOAR dogs go through a ten-day quarantine period to ensure they are healthy, before being adopted. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis, but screen applicants in order to find the best fit for our adoptable dogs.
