Story
Riley is a sweet girl! She is a 10 year old, 20 pound chihuahua mix. She came to Charming Pet Rescue after her human passed away. She arrived at the rescue with her two sisters, one brother and two cats. After losing her human, Riley is still getting used to her new environment. Riley is just now allowing for you to pet her. Riley will need time for you to gain her trust but she is making progress every day. Riley enjoys naps on the couch and rolling around outside in the grass. She is working on losing a few pounds. While her foster sisters and brother run around, she enjoys walking a few laps in the backyard following her foster mom.Riley is house trained and sleeps in her crate. She gets along well with the three dogs in the foster home. She recently received dental work and is fully vetted.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.March 25, 2025, 2:55 pm

Story
My name is Jason aka Noah, as in the father of all mankind:) I have been through alot in my life, I started out in a horrible hoarding situation with my sisters, brothers, uncles and mother. I knew in my heart of hearts that there is a much better world out there. And there is!! I was saved with about 88 dogs and pups, the ladies who drive out to save all of us are absolute saints.... So, back to my origin story, I had an unbelievable hernia out my back end that made my life hell...so the ladies git me to the rescue and 3 SURGERIES later, I am living a normal life 😀 I am a sweet boy, but having come from the situation i did, i am not a cuddle bug. I will hang out with you, just next to your chair. My life has come full circle and I am finally ready to find thst forever home who will love me until the end of time. I am waiting!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $450 (includes transport to your area)

Story
This is Gunther and he will need a new home soon. Gunther is my Mom's best buddy, but she is going through a cancer battle that looks like it won't end well. Because he needs to be an only dog in a household without young children, none of us can permanently adopt him because we all have dogs and most have little ones. He is a super sweet, well behaved dog. He goes out to do business and immediately comes right back in. He is used to being alone while my sister was at work and never had accidents. Gunther is a wired haired full size Dachshund mix who is fixed, up to date on shots, and is 6 years old. Right now he mostly has to stay in a bedroom at my house as there are already 2 to 4 dogs there at her house....and that is just not sustainable long term. If interested in Gunther please contact lmccartney@hinklaw.com

Story
Meet Oscar - Your New Snuggle Sidekick Looking for a pint-sized best frind with a heart of gold? Meet Oscar, a 6-year-old dachshund with a big personality and an even bigger capacity for love. Oscar is the total package - funny, busy, happy, eager to please and a professional snuggler. He's adjusted beautifully to life outside of his past as a breeder dog and is clearly enjoying his new chapter as a free and joyful little man. He gets along great with his foster siblings and is friendly with both men and women. Earlier in his breeder days, Oscar suffered from untreated dental disease that resulted in a fractured jaw. Repair was attempted, however his jaw is still a bit "off". In his recent vetting with us he had another dental. His remaining teeth were so diseased they had to be removed, however he IS left with two teeth. This has not affected his ability to eat as you can see. It is also important that his adopter put him on a weight reduction program. He has lost a couple pounds with his foster mom and once he is at his fighting weight again, he will be more likely to live a long and happy life! Oscar is housebroken and will go potty outside or use potty pads indoors like a champ. He may occasionally "mark" but a gentle reminder is usually all it takes. He walks well on a leash, lives for treat time, and abolutely adores lounging outside in the sunshine. But his favorite thing? Curling up in a cozy chair right next to (or practically on top of) his person. If he could climb inside your skin to be closer, he probably would! Oscar is up to date on his vaccines and ready to find his forever home. Adoption fee: $325.00

Story
Please visit leiashope.org for our adoption process. Located in Troy, MO Requirements: Secure physical fenced yard LEVI is a puppy mill dog survivor that has lived in a kennel environment for his short life. In spite of it all, Levi is a social little guy that does not enjoy being alone. Levi is described as a silky wire doxy. His fur is not course but soft. Levi was born with a congenital birth defect in one of his eyes where his eye is always dilated. He should wear doggy sunglasses when outside and in bright lights to combat discomfort and possible early cataracts. Currently, his tear production is low and may need eye drops for the remainder of his life. However, the dry eyes could be from the unclean condition he was previously living in and should be monitored with a vet to determine if the drops need to be long term. Levi loves to play and he has discovered toys and likes to play with all of them! He does well in the car and is just happy to be free and around others. He is good with other dogs, but we do not believe he needs one in his new home. He will need a secure physical fenced yard. Levi has stitches from his neuter on 2/6 and will need those removed before he can go home in about 2 weeks. Levi's adoption is $400. He is neutered, received a dental, current on vaccines, microchipped and on monthly flea and heartworm prevention. Visit leiashope.org for next steps. PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing. All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application. We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet. Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy energy!
