Story
1/29/24: Dorkie is a Dachshund Yorkie hence the name: Dorkie is 8 lbs and 9 years young. He is a great dog, that is not fond of someone in his face. He likes to be petted, sleeps with his foster and gets along great with the other small dogs as long as they don't challenge him (no big dogs). We don't recommend kids under 13. Kids need to understand his space issues and leave him be if needed. He is mostly house trained and goes to the door to go out. He is crate trained. Walks well on a leash. Be the perfect dog for quiet couple or individual. He has come a long way since his intake in 2022. UPDATE: July 2022 Dorkie was previously adopted and was just returned for being pushy with other dogs and will need a patient experienced parent. If he knows that the behavior will not be tolerated. He is house, and crate trained. Once he realizes his pushiness will not be tolerated, he is good with other dogs that are not dominant. he is an active pup that follows you everywhere. He does get underfoot, so keep that in mind. He loves doing Zoomies and exploring so a fenced yard is needed. 4/1/2022 Dorkie is an owner surrender along with his brother. Purchased at Petland 7 years ago and never vetted. Both were covered in fleas. They had sibling rivalry and would do best apart. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped. The rescue does not adopt out to properties with invisible fences or tie outs. Application: https://form.jotform.com/FredsMission/app

Story
Hi my name is Cookee, and I'm the sweetest treat of a pup that you'll ever meet. People say I remind them of cookies and cream when I give them sweet kisses on the nose or bump up and snuggle with them when they're feeling down. I am a Dachshund-Basset mix and medium sized about 30# full grown. Sitting on people's couches or laps is my favorite pastime as I get to snuggle close to the people I love, which is practically everyone! I LOVE OTHER DOGS TOO!! I definitely want a home with other dogs :) As I am a bit on the older side and lived on the streets until I was saved with my babies in my tummy. I have been living at my foster home and am ready for my forever HOME!! I will need a patient and loving family to give me a good life of exercise- LOL, playtime, treats, love, affection, and belonging. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

So there we were, living in a home... when BAM! One day the family up and MOVES WITHOUT US!!! We had NO IDEA what was happening! No Dear John letter, no food and water left for us, nowhere to go and no one to take care of us..... WELP, the MOVERS took us in!! I mean, that was amazing! So we got to the rescue because hardworking moving men cared enough about us to save us and find us a rescue!! Now we are loving life in our foster home, our foster family is SO COOL! Lots of excitement, fun people to meet and all kinds of shade/playtime! We are dachshund mixed pups, all different colors but lowriders for sure :) Our mom is the sweetest and most FUN mom! She seems to be a puppy herself! Adopt one of us and give us the chance to write our next BEST chapter as a beloved member of your family!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $500 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Isabella is over a year old, but she has a lot of puppy in her!  She came to us expecting a litter, but she miscarried.  She is not momma material, because she's just a massive snuggle baby!  She does sleep in a crate at night, but in the same room as her foster, or in a room with other dogs, otherwise, I think she'd be very vocal that she doesn't want to be alone.  She goes in her crate for a treat, but she prefers to be out and about.  And though we've seen no potty accidents, she has taken out a set of blinds!  Hence the crate when foster mom is out of the house!   Isabella likes other dogs, but she likes humans more.   She does not like to be growled at by other dogs and will puff up.  She has shown signs of being overly interested in cats, and is probably best in a home without cats.  When she was still pregnant, she was frightened by a young child, and she no longer likes children.  She growls at them and does not like them approaching her.  She will go and sit on their lap if they are calm and still and wait for her, but she's a no child household dog.   She will show you what it means to experience unconditional live! She needs someone willing to work on training.  She jumps on people, a lot, and wants to be with you at all times.  There are worse things!April 28, 2024, 4:39 pm

Story
MOOSE is a handsome young Basset Hound/Beagle-type mixed breed dog. He has the dreamy good looks of a beagle and the legs/body of a Basset. He's about 10 months old and currently 42 pounds but a but too chonky, he should be 35-37 pounds.  Moose has a a big personality. He's a busy little guy best suited to a home where he'll get lots of attention and exercise. Moose needs a home with a physically fenced yard to keep him from following his nose into trouble. He's dog friendly and would be fine with a dog sibling his size or larger. Moose still has some puppyish behaviors so we've been working with him on his manners. We will work with Moose's adopter to continue the work we've begun. If you would like to meet Moose, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Jeromeo at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate, if he's still available. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2024, 11:27 am
