Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hiya! My name is Scooby, and I’m basically a professional happy boy. I’m a Dachshund/Chi mix with a big personality packed into a little body. My previous owner had too many dogs for the city limit, so me and some of my buddies had to find new homes. The good news? I’m ready to make someone VERY lucky!  When I first arrived I was infested with fleas, and also had a injury to my face. Suspected from a dog bite, but I've got amazing people and vet staff taking care of me with antibiotics and xrays to make sure I'm all ready for my new family.  I love people so much that I sometimes bounce up out of excitement when I meet you. I just can’t help it! I’m all about kisses, tail wags, and making new friends. I also LOVE other dogs and have a blast playing with them and sharing my toys. Toys are kind of my thing, honestly. I’m not sure about this “potty training” business yet, but I’m a smart little guy and eager to please. I’m already neutered, 4DX negative, current on vaccines, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto — so I’m all set and ready to go! My adoption fee is $400. If you think we might be a good match, you can apply for me at www.adoggie4you.org I’m currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast. If I need a ride, there’s an additional $225 transport fee. (I’m not able to travel to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state rules.)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 17, 2026, 5:23 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Zeus — a happy, loving little guy who’s ready to steal your heart all over again. This adorable dachshund/terrier mix is searching for a forever family after being recently returned through absolutely no fault of his own. His previous family loved him deeply, but with the kids heading off to college and long work hours leaving little time at home, they made the difficult decision to help Zeus find a family who could give him the attention he deserves. Zeus is friendly, playful, affectionate, and wonderfully social. He absolutely loves playing with other dogs and has even done great around cats - his previous owner said he liked to play with them. He’s already fully vetted and ready to go home today — neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines, 4DX negative, protected with ProHeart 12, and on Bravecto for flea and tick prevention. Zeus has already known what it feels like to be loved, and now he’s hoping for a forever home where he can be part of the family for good. His adoption fee is $300. This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225   . We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Rock came to us from a partnered shelter where he was sadly at risk of euthanasia due to lack of space—but thankfully, he got the chance he deserved. He’s a friendly, easygoing pup who gets along with everyone he meets, making him a great fit for many types of homes. Rock would truly love a family of his own where he can feel safe and loved. He LOEVS his toy time with friends in the play yard. Rock did test positive for anaplasmosis (a tick-borne infection) and is currently undergoing treatment with doxycycline. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey-a! I’m Mario ❤️ I may be a little guy, but I’ve got a big heart, lots of love to give, and I’m very ready for my happily ever after. I came to rescue from a crowded shelter where I was running out of time, but thankfully I got my second chance — and now I’m hoping my forever family is next! I’m a super friendly boy who loves meeting people. New friends? Amazing. Familiar faces? Even better! I’m always happy to see you and usually come with a wagging tail and cheerful little smile. I really just enjoy being part of the fun and close to my people. I also get along with other dogs and currently share my kennel area with two other male dogs. I do especially well with female dogs, though, because I can sometimes get a little bossy with other boys. What can I say? I like to think I’m in charge sometimes. But overall, I’m still a very good boy and do just fine with proper introductions and respectful dog friends. I’m not sure how I do with cats or young kids yet, but I’ve shown everyone here what a sweet, happy companion I can be. I’m neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped, so I’m all set and ready to start my next adventure with a family of my own. All I need now is someone to love me forever. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi!! I’m Petey! I’m an adorable pug/Dachshund mix, and I made my way here after a stay at Bandera Animal Control—but honestly, I’m just focused on the good stuff now… like PLAYTIME. I’ve got a big personality packed into a little body, and I’m full of energy and fun. I LOVE to play. Toys? Yes, please—all of them. I’ll chase them, toss them, and keep myself (and you) entertained. I’ve always got a little bounce in my step, and I’m happiest when I’m running around or right in the middle of whatever you’re doing. I’m super friendly and love everyone I meet, so making new friends is kind of my thing. I do get excited (okay, really excited), and I might bark to let you know just how happy I am—but that’s just me being me! Life is exciting, and I’m here for it. After I’ve burned off some energy, I’m more than happy to hang out and soak up attention. I just love being part of the action. I might need a little help with potty training at first, but I’m a smart guy and with some patience and consistency, I’ll get the hang of it in no time. My adoption fee is $400. If you want to take me home, apply at www.adoggie4you.org. Weenie may be a senior at 13, but she is such an outgoing and young at heart girl! She loves nothing more than to cuddle up on your lap under a blanket. She is a bit of a couch potato, but also loves basking in the sun. She has IVDD, which means she will need help going to the bathroom, but the extra work is so worth it! She walks very well. Weenie would do best in a quiet environment, preferably no kids. Weenie doesn't mind other small dogs. She is the sweetest girl and loves forehead kisses and ear rubs!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Emeril! If comfort food came in puppy form, it would be Emeril. This 3.5-month-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix weighs about 25 pounds and is equal parts cuddle bug and playmate. With his soulful eyes, floppy ears, and easygoing personality, Emeril has already mastered the art of winning hearts. Emeril can be a little more reserved when meeting new people or exploring new situations, but once he knows he's safe, his affectionate side shines through. He loves cuddling up with his humans, enjoys a good toy collection, and is always happy to join in some puppy playtime. His mix of Basset Hound and Beagle means he'll likely grow into a loyal family companion with a curious nose and a gentle disposition. Whether he's investigating the backyard or snuggling for cuddles after a busy day, Emeril is happiest when he's with people. Like any young puppy, Emeril is still learning the ropes. He isn't fully potty trained yet but is making great progress with pee pads and developing good habits every day. Looking for a puppy who's equal parts sweet, snuggly, and playful? Emeril is ready to bring a little extra flavor to your family. Emeril is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Denali (aka Roger, Roger Dodger, Roger Ramjet)! If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and oversized lap dog, Denali may just be your perfect match. At approximately 7 months old, Denali is already showing off his fun-loving personality and charming quirks. We believe he’s a mix of Basset Hound and a larger working breed such as an Anatolian Shepherd, Black Mouth Cur, or similar breed. The result is a handsome low-rider with a big personality, a bigger heart, and an expected adult weight of around 45-50 pounds. Denali loves to play fetch, chase squeaky toys, run around the yard, and be involved in whatever his people are doing. More than anything, he loves his humans and wants to be close to them. If he had his way, he’d spend his days following you from room to room and his evenings curled up beside you on the couch. Denali gets along with dogs and children, but because of his past, he can occasionally be fear-reactive and may stand his ground if challenged by another dog. The good news is that he responds well to correction, is eager to please, and has already made tremendous progress in a very short period of time. We fully expect his confidence to continue growing as he settles into a stable, loving home. While Denali enjoys canine companionship, he would do best with mellow, respectful dog friends. Any resident dogs should be easygoing, and his adopter should be comfortable managing introductions and continuing his positive training. He is not a difficult dog, just a dog who needs a thoughtful leader to help him succeed. Denali's ideal home would be with someone who appreciates a devoted best friend and can provide a calm, structured environment. In return, he’ll offer endless loyalty, affection, and entertainment. He would be especially well-suited for someone familiar with larger working breeds such as Anatolian Shepherds, German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Black Mouth Curs, or similar breeds. Experience isn’t required because Denali is “problematic”, it’s simply because understanding how these intelligent, loyal dogs think will help him reach his full potential. Denali has come incredibly far in a short amount of time and continues to show us what a wonderful companion he can be. With patience, consistency, and love, he’s going to make someone an amazing best friend for years to come. Denali is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. His adoption fee is $275.00.
