Story
I’m Blue Eyes, an adorable 6-month-old, neutered 16-pound Dachshund mix. I have longer legs than a Dachshund, though, so am probably mixed with another small breed like a Whippet. I was found with my siblings on the streets of Louisiana, and we are all glad to be at Save A Dog now, so we can find our families! I get my name from my striking blue eyes. Like my siblings, I’m a happy, friendly puppy. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp.

Story
Poor Rockin Rambo, a terrible photo but it's what we got when we were trying to save a dog from a kill shelter at the 11th hour! Rambo's dad was hospitalized but never returned to retrieve him from the shelter which then left him at risk of euthanasia for space. He has non-contagious demodex mange which he's been treated for and his hair is already filling back in. He will be 100% handsome in very short time! This little guy is dog-friendly, a real "wigglebutt", and just about the shortest legs we've ever seen! As an older puppy, he will thrive with training, enrichment, and the socialization that all pups need to be good canine citizens.   See his Facebook post with a new video here.  Rockin Rambo is part of our SHELTER DOG SUCCESS PROGRAM where 50% of his adoption fee is transferred to a trainer who will work with you virtually to set Rambo and your home up for success for his transition from homeless to home!  Preference is given to adopters willing to pre-adopt (commit to) a puppy or dog before arrival to MA. Pups not pre-adopted are available to meet in their MA foster homes after your application is approved. Should this pup receive an adoption commitment prior to your application being processed, we will share with you the other arriving pups that may be a match for you, some of which are not yet posted online. THIS PUP IS STILL AVAILABLE IF YOU ARE SEEING THIS LISTING––we pull listings down after receiving 2 - 3 viable applications to minimize adopter disappointment. Please do not email, simply submit an application link here www.rescueinc.dog/adopt and we do respond to every application within 48 hours.  Read through our adoption FAQs here www.rescueinc.dog/FAQs and our adoption process is here www.rescueinc.dog/the-process All of our pups come with the following:  spayed or neutered age appropriate vaccinations + dewormed + 4DX test (if older than 6 months) health certificates  dosed with flea and tick + heartworm preventatives new martingale collar (sometimes a harness) with 6' lead + temp ID tag 30-days free insurance to be activated within 24 hours of your wellness visit with your veterinarian microchip with free registration  sample of Canidae food that your pup is eating prior to pick up  WE ISOLATE OUR OWN PUPS in our state licensed facility, which means we have eyes on your puppy or dog for the MA mandated 48 hours. During this timeframe, your pups not only see our isolation vet twice but also receive additional rounds of dewormer along with pre + probiotics; transition to Canidae food; additional behavior assessments as they decompress; and so much love and thoughtfulness from our volunteers. Your pups are bathed at intake and again before pick up. All are paired in kennels with littermates or for those that travel alone, we have a rotation of volunteers to visit with them. We provide enrichment throughout the day and meditation music during nap time and through the overnight. We use these 48 hours to ready your pup to transition into a foster or adoptive home and do all that we can to reduce their stress while they are with us.  Ages listed can be approximate and breed mixes are a best guess based on physical characteristics.   Approved Massachusetts Rescue #0048 // Registered 501c3 EIN #84-3954548  ##1882766##

Story
Fritz: DOB 3-10-2023 This gorgeous little guy is ready to go home! Fritz loves to play, gets along with other dogs and he is a social butterfly. Fritz is complete on his medical and up to date on all shots. He has been neutered, is heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart 6 which is a 6 month heart worm protection. Fritz is 10 pounds of Dachshund just looking for the right home. His adoption fee is 850.00 and transport fee is 165.00. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
