Story
I'm Mickey, an 8-week-old Dachshund mix puppy. Our mom is Minnie (also available), who was rescued from a hoarding situation in Louisiana, but my siblings and I were born after that, so we have always known love and care. I'm in a foster home right now, and I'm doing great! I already sleep through the night for six hours at a stretch and am picking up housetraining quickly. I settle easily in a pen or crate while my foster humans are busy, and I'm a good eater. I love all toys -- especially balls -- and I play appropriately and happily with the other dogs in the home. I adore being outside and am very curious and confident. I'm affectionate and like to snuggle and give kisses. Like all young puppies, I will benefit from someone being home most of the time. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp. Available after 5/11.

Story
Two-year-old Minnie was pregnant when she was rescued from a hoarder house in Louisiana, but she is now spayed and looking for her forever home. Her foster mother says that while Minnie was shy and cautious for the first couple of days in their home, she is now very playful and affectionate. She loves toys and engages in play with the family's Chihuahua mix but is also happy just to chill on the couch with her people. She is fully house trained, walks well on a leash, and sleeps without a peep in her crate at night. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp.

Story
I’m Holly, a spayed 2-year-old, 10-pound Dachshund from Louisiana. I was seized from the same home as Esther and Mary. I was terrified in the shelter and the local rescuer, LAMA, took me out of there. But despite that rough start, I'm looking for my person who will look beyond that and who will shower me with love and good nutrition. A gentle adopter would be best for me. I'm good with other dogs, lived with children, not exposed to cats but can be tested. Please apply at https://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp, and someone will get right back to you. Available after 5/20/25.

Story
Meet Howie – a 15-pound Dachshund-ish delight who’s 1 year old and 100% certified adorable. He’s got the sweet, playful energy of a puppy, the social skills of a party host, and the compact size of a loaf of bread with legs. 🍞🐾 This little guy loves other dogs and has serious playdate energy. He’s outgoing, cheerful, and the kind of pup who walks into a room like, “Hey guys! Who wants to zoom with me?” He’s also a total crate champ, which means he’s respectful of your furniture and ready for snoozes on demand. Basically, Howie is the best kind of chaos: fun-sized, friendly, and full of wiggles. Adopt Howie – because life is better with a dog who acts like every day is his birthday. 🎉 If you are interested in finding out more about Howie, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Howie is in Millbury, MA. The adoption fee is $500. Like Broken Tail Rescue on Facebook!. Follow Broken Tail Rescue on Instagram! Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

Story
***seeking Foster-to-Adopt*** Meet Wally – 25 pounds of love and loyalty, wrapped in a handsome brindle coat. 🐶💕 At 12 years young, Wally is the ultimate cuddle connoisseur. His favorite hobbies include: ✅ Following his human like a very short, very hairy bodyguard ✅ Requesting (demanding?) belly rubs with zero shame ✅ Wiggling onto the couch like he pays rent there ✅ Being absurdly cute at all times Don’t let his recent foot surgery fool you – this little guy is still trotting around like he’s auditioning for a puppy parkour team. He will need his stitches out in about a week (from today 4/17/25). He also needs a dental, but don’t worry – he's available for a foster-to-adopt situation, so you can fall in love while he finishes his glow-up. 🦷✨ Wally is mostly house trained (he's trying, okay?) and gets along great with other dogs. Just a few oopsies here and there – cut the man some slack, he’s 12 and just had foot surgery! So if you're looking for a snuggle shadow who thinks belly rubs are a constitutional right, Wally’s your guy. Bonus: he’s part Dachshund, part Border Terrier, and 100% your next best friend. If you are interested in finding out more about Wally, please fill out an adoption application by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BRO/Dog Wally is being fostered in Clinton, MA.
