Story
Meet Chico Benito]! Warning: Chico Benito may cause instant attachment. Big ears. Big Heart. Ready to belong. The Basics:• Gender: Male, Age: 4-6 months• Weight: 9.1 lbs• Breed: Dachshund Mix• Location: San Antonio• Neutered, yes Personality:Chico Benito is the ultimate cuddle bug who just wants to be close to his person. He’ll happily follow you everywhere—even to the bathroom—because being near you is his favorite place to be. With his adorable little bunny hops and a name that means “little blessed,” he truly lives up to it. Ideal Home:• He is great with dogs. He is being fostered with 2 pitbulls and another small dog and he cuddles right in the middle of all the action! He plays with any dog that wants to play back with him• Good with cats: He hasn’t met any cats, but I think he would get along with them.• Good with kids: I think he would be good with kids, too. • Energy level: Though young and playful, he also likes naps! He will nap on your lap next to you in the bed or while on your lap while you are working on a computer• Best home: He is currently in an apartment and is still working on the learning how to go for a full walk on a leash. He does well while learning how to go potty outside. Training & Skills:• Potty trained: Working on it! • Crate trained: Yes and No. I will leave him in the crate for meals, timeouts and when I have to leave for long periods, but he is not the biggest fan.• Knows: Yes = Good and No = Bad The Extra Good Stuff:Chico Benito is a happy, easygoing pup who’s as adorable as they come. He quickly wins you over and just wants to be part of someone’s life. If you’re looking for a loyal little sidekick, he’s your guy. Good to Know:He loves his person so much he wants to steal their clothes. He learned about chewing electrical cords the hard way. Oops! He has a cherry eye. Nothing too big and vet techs say they can have a surgery to stitch it in his eye if it bothers you/him. Transport available   ##2707005##

Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Gunnar! Gunnar is approximately 2 years old and 22 lbs currently and he is a Mutt with perhaps a splash of dachshund. Gunnar was found as a stray and was Heartworm positive. He has been treated and is now ready for his forever home. In his foster home, he is working hard on his house training, crate training and leash walking. He could join households with kids 5+, cats, and other dogs. His foster says, `Mr. T.M. Gunnar aka Tiny Man Gunnar is an absolutely amazing pup. He is happy no matter what is going on. From sitting on the bed with his cat sister and looking out the window, playing around with his lab foster sister Lady, going for long walks, playing with toys in the yard, to burying himself under the covers with you at night when it is time to go to sleep, Gunner does it all with the utmost enthusiasm. His spunkiness will keep you smiling all day. He loves to run and play in the yard, and will gladly perform the perfect squeekerectomy to any toy that needs it. He will bark to let you know that he needs to go outside to potty, and when it is time to feed him. Tiny Man Gunner has been through alot in his young life, and continues to show us everyday how to live life with love and joy.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on April 24. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Daisy's video.  https://youtube.com/shorts/-70_XNYkJlc?si=fokPHbTouQB4Eui-These adorable little ones are the proud pups of Duchess, a small, low-riding sweetheart (around 25–30 pounds) who looks like a delightful Dachshund/Lab mix. She may have short legs, but she’s overflowing with love—and her puppies clearly took after her in all the best ways.   Raised by their wonderful mama and with lots of love from us, these puppies are confident, fearless, and full of personality. They bounce through life with curiosity and joy, always ready for their next adventure—whether that’s exploring, playing, or getting into a little bit of harmless mischief.   They are smart, affectionate, and absolutely full of life. They love people, adore each other, and approach the world with happy, wagging enthusiasm. These pups will keep you smiling, keep you moving, and most of all… keep your heart very full.   Simply put, they are bundles of love just waiting for families to call their own. Thank you for checking out our wonderful orphans. We try to post videos for each pet so you can really get to know them. If you would like to find out more please email or call Diane at... diane@ulpr.org or 870-577-3744.   Please email us at diane@ulpr.org and request an application. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 19, 2026, 2:20 pm

Story
Linus is a sweet, cuddly dachshund born in 2018 who absolutely loves being close to his people. His favorite things include going for walks, soaking up the sun, snuggling on the couch, and burrowing under cozy blankets. He’s also a loyal little protector who likes to keep an eye on the house and let you know when someone’s nearby. As much as we love him, our growing family (with a toddler and another baby on the way) has made it difficult to give Linus the environment he truly needs. He can feel anxious around a busy toddler, and we don’t feel it’s fair for him to spend so much time separated from the family. We are looking for a loving home where Linus can feel safe, relaxed, and get all the cuddles and attention he deserves — ideally a calmer environment without young children and other dogs. This is not an easy decision for us, and we want to make sure Linus finds the perfect match. If you or someone you know could give him a wonderful home, please reach out ❤️

Story
DOB 12-7-2024 Wolfie is a gorgeous Red and White Long Hair! This beautiful boy loves everyone, likes to play with toys and his friends. He is neutered, heartworm negative and has received a Proheart6 preventative injection, up to date on shots and is now looking for a loving home. His adoption fee is 900.00 and his transport fee is 135.00. HEARTS is our transport, they run every 2 weeks. It's the best transport and the only one we will use. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.
