Story
Lump is a one-year-old black and tan smooth haired dachshund mix. He was rescued from the Houston streets after being abandoned when he was just two months old. We know that must have been a scary time for him because he still is tentative with strangers, both dogs and humans. Learning to trust will be an ongoing process for him. In contrast to how shy he is with strangers, he adores his foster family and their dogs and tries to get the old dogs in his foster home to play. If that doesn't work, he zooms around the house or outside where he has a little route he runs. One of his favorite pastimes is chasing squirrels, lizards and birds in the backyard. This athletic pup would do well in an active household ideally with a yard and playful companion. Another favorite activity of Lump's is playing with squeaky toys and chewing on his long-lasting collagen sticks, frozen bone marrow, or peanut butter-filled frozen Kongs. He sleeps in the bed with his foster parents, snuggles on the sofa, and takes long walks in the neighborhood and his favorite place, the Houston Arboretum. Lump is housetrained and crated when his foster family leaves the house to keep him from getting into "puppy trouble." Lump is a special dog and is looking for a home that will make him feel safe and loved.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.vetting completeMeet Jenny - Jenny is a sweet, snuggly dachshund with a gentle soul and a heart full of love, she just needs a little time to show it. This shy girl can be timid at first, especially around women, but once she warms up, she becomes incredibly affectionate and devoted. When she trusts you, she’ll happily curl up in your lap, soak up all the pets, and drift off to sleep while you watch TV together. Jenny truly loves being around her people. She’s a little shadow who feels most comfortable when she’s close by, and she’ll reward you with endless cuddles and quiet companionship. She’s also on a weight loss journey and will need a committed adopter to help her get back to her ideal 14 lbs (currently 20 lbs). Keeping her healthy is especially important for her long dachshund back. Jenny enjoys her walks and even loves a good game of fetch, especially if a squeaky toy is involved! Because she’s a bit of a foodie, she’ll need someone who can stick to a structured feeding routine and limit extra treats. Jenny is: Leash trained and enjoys walks Crate trained (sleeps well overnight and when you’re away) Good in the car Gentle, affectionate, and good with other dogs A certified lap dog and cuddle expert She is  partially house trained and does very well when kept on a consistent schedule.  She’ll need potty breaks every 3–4 hours and right after waking up. With routine, she’s successful going outside on the grass. Jenny can be a little nervous when crated while people are home and may need time to settle when left alone, but she is able to self-soothe. She also has a bit of a curious streak and may try to sneak out, so a secure home and attentive adopter are important. Jenny would thrive in a patient, loving home that will give her the time she needs to blossom. In return, you’ll get the sweetest little cuddle buddy who just wants to love and be loved.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2026, 10:32 am
