Story
Elys Crawford has the kind of curiosity that makes ordinary moments feel like little adventures. Open the back door, and she's already wondering what today's discoveries will be. Is there a new scent in the yard? Is the pool doing anything interesting? Has someone picked up the leash? She approaches life with bright eyes and an eager heart, always ready to learn something new, but never in a frantic way. She's thoughtful, observant, and surprisingly composed for a puppy who's still growing into those long legs. Go watch Elys Crawford, An Inquisitive and Joyful Companion on YouTube, then come right back to read more! You'll see her sweet, affectionate personality, her gentle interest in the water as she carefully investigates the pool alongside her sister, and the way she naturally checks in with her people. Watch for those adorable floppy ears that give her a softer expression than her sister's perked-up look. They somehow make every curious head tilt even more endearing. It's easy to see how quickly she's learning and how much she enjoys simply being part of whatever is going on. Estimated to be around 4½ months old, with an estimated birthday of February 22, 2026, Elys weighs approximately 30 pounds and appears to be a Doberman mixed with Shepherd, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best educated guess. Elys is being raised in a foster home that's given her a wonderful start. She's living alongside two adult Dobermans, and the routine they've established has helped her become a confident, well-mannered puppy. Elys is being raised in a foster home that's given her a wonderful start. She's living alongside two adult Dobermans, and the routine they've established has helped her become a confident, well-mannered puppy. She's kennel trained, has made impressive progress with potty training, and already understands that meal times happen in her own kennel alongside her sister, each enjoying their meals in separate crates. Having structure from such a young age has set her up beautifully for whatever comes next. One thing that stood out is just how eager she is to learn. Elys is incredibly food motivated, making training both fun and rewarding. She's already picking up new commands quickly, responds well to gentle redirection, and shows impressive impulse control for a puppy her age. She has all the ingredients of a dog who genuinely enjoys working with her people. Outside is where Elys really lights up. She loves spending time in the yard, enjoys walks on leash, and is fascinated by the pool. She isn't diving in just yet, but she'll happily wander over to investigate, stretching her neck to peek into the water as though she's trying to decide whether today's the day she'll get a little closer. Her curiosity seems to extend to everything around her, making even a simple walk feel like an opportunity for discovery. Life with other dogs has also taught her some valuable lessons. After being nipped on the face by one of the adult Dobermans, Elys chose to give that dog a little extra space moving forward. Rather than becoming fearful or reactive, she simply adjusted her approach, showing a lovely ability to read social situations and respect boundaries. It's a small detail, but it speaks volumes about her thoughtful temperament. She's affectionate without being overbearing and loves spending time with the adults in her foster home. While she hasn't yet had the opportunity to meet children or cats, her friendly, inquisitive nature gives her a wonderful foundation for continued socialization with thoughtful introductions. Like many large-breed puppies, Elys is growing at an incredible pace. She's all legs right now, with a lean build that changes almost as quickly as she does. She enjoys multiple meals throughout the day to keep up with all that growing, and because she's active, she burns through every calorie she can find. Her foster's consistent routine—including individual kennel meal times—has helped her develop wonderful manners and healthy habits that she'll carry into her future home. Elys would love a family that's excited about continuing the great work her foster has already started. Someone who enjoys training, appreciates an intelligent dog, and is ready to guide a puppy through all the fun stages of growing up will find an eager partner in Elys. Whether it's neighborhood walks, backyard adventures, or simply spending time together learning something new, she's happiest when she's included! Story
Elara Crawford has never met an open door she didn't want to walk through. If there's a backyard to explore, a leash coming off the hook, or a new trail to sniff, she's already standing nearby with those perfectly perked ears pointed forward, waiting to see what adventure is next. She has an enthusiasm that's contagious, balanced with an impressive ability to listen and learn. For a puppy her age, she carries herself with a confidence that makes life with her feel both exciting and surprisingly easy. Go watch Elara on YouTube, then come right back to read more! You'll see exactly why it's hard not to fall for this girl. Watch her confidently explore the outdoors, happily investigate the backyard pool without a hint of worry, and show off those expressive ears that seem to have a personality all their own! Estimated to be around 4½ months old, with an estimated birthday of February 22, 2026, Elara weighs approximately 31 pounds and appears to be a Doberman mixed with Shepherd, though as with all rescue dogs, her breed and age are simply our best educated guess. Elara has been lucky to spend her puppyhood in a foster home that's given her an incredible foundation. Routine is already part of her everyday life, and it shows. She's comfortable in her kennel, eats her meals there alongside her sister in separate crates, and has settled beautifully into a predictable schedule. It's clear she's had patient guidance, and she's soaked it all up. If there's one thing Elara enjoys almost as much as being with her people, it's mealtime. She's a fantastic eater and highly food motivated, which makes training both fun and productive. New commands seem to click quickly for her, and she responds beautifully to gentle redirection. Even more impressive is the amount of self-control she already shows. Puppies are naturally impulsive, but Elara is already learning that slowing down and paying attention has its rewards. Outside is where she really shines. She loves being outdoors, enjoys her walks on leash, and has already decided that water is something worth investigating. Her foster has a pool, and while Elara hasn't taken the plunge just yet, she confidently wanders right up to the edge to see what all the fuss is about. Nothing about it seems intimidating. She's simply curious, taking everything in with her bright, thoughtful expression. She also shares her foster home with two adult Dobermans and has fit right into the pack. She's social, friendly, and genuinely enjoys being around both people and other dogs. In fact, she's just a little more affectionate than her sister, happily soaking up attention whenever it's offered. Whether she's leaning in for pets or quietly hanging out nearby, she seems happiest when she's part of the action. Like her sister, Elara is growing at an incredible pace. Her foster has done a wonderful job helping her gain healthy weight, but between her active lifestyle and all that growing, she's constantly changing. Right now she's wonderfully lanky, full of puppy energy, and making the most of every day. Elara hasn't yet had the opportunity to meet cats or children, so any introductions should be done thoughtfully. What we do know is that she's eager to learn, enjoys working with her people, and has already demonstrated that she's adaptable, intelligent, and incredibly affectionate! Elara would love a family that's excited to continue building on everything she's already learned. She'll thrive with people who enjoy training, spending time outdoors, and including their dog in everyday adventures. Whether you're heading out for a walk, teaching a new trick, or simply relaxing in the backyard together, Elara is the kind of puppy who's happiest when she's sharing life with her favorite people! Story
MEET BLITZ, an 85-lb stunning Doberman male who is waiting for his forever home. Blitz is a large Dobie, almost 2 years old. He is a dark red, almost chocolate color and is magnificent in appearance. Blitz is currently in training in the Los Angeles area to overcome some fears and quirks he has had in the past. He is affectionate with people he knows but in the past was tense and suspicious with strangers, especially if he is in a confined space. He can also be a bit stubborn, though his training is helping tremendously. Blitz gets along great with other dogs-- he has previously lived happily with a female Doberman in his foster home. Because of his size and strength, a home without small children is mandatory. Blitz has high energy and would benefit from having a yard, where he can run and play. Blitz is also hypo-thyroid so is on inexpensive thyroid medication, which will likely be forever. We believe Blitz is of European ancestry and like all Euro-Dobies, he has heavier bones and a larger head than the more petite American Dobies. Blitz is without question a lot of dog! But he is a lot of really good dog. Doberman or large-dog experience is a must for his adoption. Please email for an application. He is currently in California but available to Oregonians to meet.
