Story
HI - I'M CARTER, a sweet, loving and strong 3- to 4-year-old Doberman/Shepherd mix. I was originally rescued from a California shelter and am now in a foster home! I'm a dream dog! I am house-trained and crate trained (I love my crate), great with other dogs, and am currently learning how to get along with horses. I love running, playing with my squeaky toys, going for walks and cuddling with humans. If you let me, I'll share your bed! I have an easygoing and funny personality, and am looking for someone to offer me a safe and comfortable home. I would do well with a fenced yard as I love to do the zoomies! I'm super smart and I learn quickly: I know the commands of "easy" (when I'm getting a treat), "stay" and I am learning to sit on command. I would thrive in an active, calm, family-oriented environment. I would do well with a single person, a couple or a family. I love kids and other dogs, and would love to wrestle with teenagers! I can also be low energy as I love to lay around and relax, too. I weight 68 lbs. I will soon be needing a new foster, too, so if you can foster or adopt me, please email for an application. I'm a great dog.

Story
Phoenix is a 5-year-old Doberman-cattle dog mix, weighing in at 80 pounds. We are moving internationally soon, and taking her would be way too overwhelming for her. She needs another playful dog to be happy; we cannot give that to her. Her Dachshund brother died a few months ago unexpectedly. She'd appreciate an active owner. She loves long walks and hikes. We go 5 miles for walks a day and 8-12 for hikes on the weekend; she doesn't need a leash for the hikes. She enjoys playing in all bodies of water, even sprinklers. Loves cats as well as other dogs with a proper introduction. She's very smart. I not sure if she would do well with kids under 8. She's well-behaved in the house, doesn't use a crate, and can be left alone in the backyard. She had double TPLO surgery a few years ago and is doing great. She has a cute howl when excited and can copy my yawn. She's a character.

Story
Rico is a happy, playful pup and a great kisser! We think he may be a Doberman / Lab mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! At 6 months old and under 30 lbs, we think Rico will weigh less than 50 lbs when full grown, a perfect, medium-sized family dog. With a spunky joy in his step and a nose for adventure, Rico leads the charge in games and playtime, turning every moment into a fun-filled romp. Whether he’s chasing after his siblings or bounding around with endless energy, his enthusiasm is contagious! Watch Rico's video here: https://youtu.be/fYh86J-1fOI Want to know what his favorite toy is? EVERY toy! That's the kind of boy he is—full of enthusiasm and joy, living very much in the present moment. Good with cats? He sure is! He lives with two young cats who are his pals, plus one older cat who wants nothing to do with him. He has high respect for the grumpy older cat and stays away. Okay, let's be honest: He's scared of grumpy cat. Can you blame him? Cats are sharp! Good with children? Yes! His current human besties are 4, 6, and 12 years old and he thinks they are the bee's knees! Good with dogs? You bet! He is psyched to wrestle, chase, and zoom with pals! But don’t let his fun party side fool you—after all the excitement, Rico loves nothing more than curling up with his favorite humans or snuggling with his siblings for a cozy nap. He has a soft spot for giving sweet puppy kisses and spreading love wherever he goes. With his playful puppy antics and affectionate nature, Rico is the perfect mix of fun and cuddles! Rico is a smart little guy too. He is already potty trained and crate trained, giving him a solid foundation for you to build on. Because he is dog, kid, and cat friendly, he would be an easy addition to any family. He would do best in a home with a yard where he can run, play, and sunbathe to his heart's content. Are you looking for a little extra sunshine in your life? An adorable ball of positivity and verve to make you laugh every single day? Then Rico is your little man! This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW or the NE at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport. Story
Tyk is a handsome, sweet, friendly 9 year old red Doberman male that was saved from euthanasia at the last minute in California. The shelter staff lobbied to get him out as he is such a great dog. He is a typical Doberman in that he's a terrific watch dog and a velcro guy who loves humans. Tyk is presently in a foster home and doing well. He is house trained and crate trained. The perfect forever home for him is someone who wants a nice dog to keep them company hanging out in the yard or watching tv. He will help you cook dinner, do housework and yardwork. He does not require much exercise at all. He is very playful with other dogs but can play a bit rough. He cannot live with cats. Tyk has Wobblers Syndrome, a spinal condition that is common with large breed dogs. His symptoms are currently being treated with medication and restricted exercise and he is doing well. Basically, what Tyk needs is an adopter who will take care of him in his golden years.
