Story
Nacho is bonded to Neeko. We will not separate the two as they do better together than apart. # 🐾 Meet Nacho Poodle and Yorkie mix. Size wise Nacho is the size of a miniature poodle. **Age:** 1 year Nacho is a sweet, sensitive young pup who is still learning about the world and will thrive in a patient, supportive home. He enjoys cuddling and the companionship of other friendly small breed dogs. **Nacho must be adopted into a home with another calm, friendly small breed dog**, as he gains confidence from having a canine companion. He has formed a wonderful bond with his foster brother, Neeko, and they have shown us just how much Nacho benefits from having another small dog to look to for reassurance. Nacho has a very gentle, soft personality and prefers coming to you on his own rather than being rushed or forced into affection. For the right family, he will make a devoted companion and cherished family member. Nacho is currently learning to feel comfortable wearing a harness and collar in foster care and will require continued guidance using **force-free, positive reinforcement methods only**. As part of his adoption, **force-free obedience classes are mandatory** to help him build confidence, develop good manners, and strengthen the bond with his new family. Nacho sleeps quietly in his crate overnight. If he cries at the crate door, he is letting you know he urgently needs a bathroom break. Adopters must be attentive to his cues and always ensure the yard is secure and free of unexpected animals or hazards before letting him outside. Nacho thrives in a calm, predictable environment. He will do best with a family that understands shy dogs and is willing to let him build trust at his own pace. ## 🏡 Nacho's Ideal Home * Detached single-family home * Secure, fully fenced yard * **Another calm, friendly small breed dog is required** * No children * Force-free home and training methods * Patient family committed to building his confidence ## 📍 Adoption Area Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society accepts applications only within the Edmonton Region: * Beaumont * Devon * Edmonton * Fort Saskatchewan * Leduc * St. Albert * Sherwood Park * Spruce Grove * Stony Plain We do not have the capacity to adopt outside our established adoption area. ## 💙 Adoption Fee **$760 (non-negotiable).** Applicants requesting a reduction in the adoption fee will not be considered or contacted. ## ⚠️ IMPORTANT Before applying, please request our **About Our Rescue** information package. When applying, please include a detailed bio about yourself, all household members, your current pets, your home environment, and your yard and fencing. **Applications submitted without a detailed bio will not be considered and will not receive a response due to the high volume of inquiries.** **Nacho is currently on a medical hold and is not attending Meet & Greet events at this time.** For more information, please email **[HeartPrintsDogAdoptions@gmail.com](mailto:HeartPrintsDogAdoptions@gmail.com)**.
