Story
🐾 **Meet Nacho – A Sweet Terrier–Poodle Mix Looking for the Right Home** 🐾 Nacho is a sweet, sensitive 1-year-old Terrier–Poodle mix with a gentle nature and a loving personality. He enjoys cuddling with his people and seeks comfort and companionship from other small breed dogs. He would benefit from having a calm, confident canine companion in his forever home. Nacho is still learning about the world around him and is looking for a patient family committed to helping him continue building confidence. He is currently becoming comfortable with wearing a harness and collar and is learning new skills through positive experiences and gentle guidance. Nacho sleeps in his crate overnight. If he cries at the crate door, it typically means he urgently needs a bathroom break. Adopters must be attentive to these cues and ensure the yard is secure and checked for any hazards before allowing him outside. Because Nacho is a sensitive young dog, consistency, routine, patience, and understanding will be essential to helping him thrive. ### What We're Looking For To help ensure Nacho's success, we are seeking: • A detached single-family home only. • A fully fenced, secure, locked yard. • No apartments, condominiums, townhouses, duplexes, or similar attached housing. • No unfenced or unfinished yards. • No acreages. • A calm, patient home environment. • Someone who is home frequently and not routinely away for 8+ hours per day. • A commitment to force-free training using one of our rescue's approved trainers. • No children under the age of 10. • No large breed dogs currently living in the home or visiting regularly. • No dayhomes, daycare facilities, or daycare-type settings. These requirements are in place for the safety and well-being of Nacho, our rescue, and his future family. ### Training Requirements As part of his adoption, force-free obedience training classes are mandatory. Training is essential to help Nacho build confidence, develop good manners, and create a strong bond with his future family. We do not approve the use of trainers outside of our approved trainer network. We have established working relationships with our trainers and want to ensure our dogs receive consistent, humane, force-free training methods. ### Adoption Area At Heart Prints Dog Rescue Society, the safety and well-being of our dogs always come first. To ensure we can properly support our adopters, we only accept applications within the Edmonton Region, including: • Beaumont. • Devon. • Edmonton. • Fort Saskatchewan. • Leduc. • St. Albert. • Sherwood Park. • Spruce Grove. • Stony Plain. Please do not inquire if you reside outside these areas. Due to financial and volunteer limitations, we are unable to expand beyond our established adoption region. ### Adoption Process Before meeting Nacho, applicants must complete and pass the following: • Adoption application. • Home check. • Veterinary reference check. • Three personal reference checks (references must not be related to you). ### Adoption Fee Nacho's adoption fee is **$760.00**. ### Note About House Training We never describe any rescue dog as completely house trained. Even well-trained dogs can experience accidents during the adjustment period as they learn a new routine, environment, and family schedule. We ask adopters to be patient and understanding during the transition. Please expect that an accident or two may occur during the first few weeks while your new companion settles into their home. ### Learn More About Our Rescue Before applying, all potential adopters must review our "About Our Rescue" information package. Please email us to request a copy and learn more about our adoption process, expectations, and commitment to setting our dogs and adopters up for long-term success. 📩 **Interested in attending a Meet and Greet or learning more?** Email: [Heartprintsdogadoptions@gmail.com](mailto:Heartprintsdogadoptions@gmail.com) ‼️ **DISCLAIMER – PLEASE READ** ‼️ • We only adopt to force-free homes, and adopters must continue force-free training methods after adoption. • We are a volunteer-based rescue and can only contact applicants we wish to move forward with. • Meeting Nacho is by approved application only. • Only applicants our rescue feels are the best match for Nacho will be contacted.

Story
Tequila came to our home when she was just 3 months old through a Facebook post. We decided to adopt her because my daughters wanted a puppy, and we adults also wanted one, so we took advantage of the opportunity. She's a very affectionate, playful, and gentle dog. She loves playing with children and, of course, adults. She has a lot of energy, being a mix between a 6-month-old puppy and a Husky/Labdog. The commands she understands are in Spanish, but she's very intelligent and can adapt quickly to any language. She loves eating apples and any kind of treat; she's a pure kibble puppy and is still losing her baby teeth. She likes having her belly rubbed. However, we realized that this specific breed of dog needs at least 2 hours a day to burn off some of its energy. We work between 8 and 12 hours a day and realized that she spends too much time indoors.

Story
Lakota was born here in Edmonton and was a rescue. He's a 7 year old German Shepherd dog who still has plenty of energy and play in them. Lakota really loves melon, cantaloupe and carrots as his favorites especially cantaloupe. I'm looking to find Lakota a home where he has space to run, has yo be stable household or at least have someone who's very physically active and patient. He's well behaved on walks although he likes to say hello very loudly untill given attention by new people and dogs. Lakota is okay with most dogs given some time. He does get anxious on car rides however after sometime he either passes out is calmed down with snack. He'll give you kisses till you can't handle no more, and does his best to give hugs.

Story
We took this beautiful girl in in what was supposed to be a temporary situation when she needed a place to go 6 months ago. She’s approximately 1 yrs old & we are unsure of her breed mix. She’s a sweet girl who is fully house trained & crate trained although we would have no problem trusting her to roam free if she was the only dog in the house. She loves to be outside. She has good energy but also knows how to chill. She Loves her toys & a frozen kong. She’s very food motivated. She’s also had some professional training and knows how to sit, stay, paw, heal, etc. Unfortunately we are looking to rehome as she is not getting along with our other female dog in the home. We don’t want to have to crate her all day. She most likely would do best as the only dog in the house. We are unsure of how she would be with children as she has never been around them. We love her and don’t want to see her go. She deserves the best home. Will be spayed end of June. The rehome fee will be paid to rescue.
