Story
Luna is an 8–9 year old sweet, laid-back girl with so much love to give. She was born on a farm, but she would much rather be inside cuddling with her people than out working. She is low maintenance, relaxed, and loves spending time with her family. Luna enjoys cuddles, pets, treats, attention, and playing fetch. She is wonderful with kids and loves to play with them. She always greets people at the door with a wagging tail and happy personality. Luna thinks she is a lap dog, even though she’s a little too big for that. She would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention for herself. She is looking for a loving home where she can be part of the family, relax indoors, and get all the affection she deserves.

Story
Ebi is a gentle, bright, and food‑motivated girl who loves doing tricks to get treats and doing joyful zoomies when it’s playtime. She is 30 kg; at the lower end of a large dog. At home she’s calm, quiet, and wonderfully well‑mannered—she’s never been destructive and always lets you know when she needs to go outside. She’s been raised around older kids and is sweet with our younger nieces and nephews who visit. She gets excited when greeting people and may jump up. She’s submissive with confident dogs, and while she’s not aggressive, she will instinctively chase cats or wildlife if she sees them. She’s the perfect work‑from‑home companion—peaceful and happy to relax nearby. We’re looking for a loving family who can give Ebi stability, attention, and a safe environment. It breaks our hearts to rehome her due to an upcoming international move, but we hope someone special will give her the chance to brighten their life the way she has brightened ours.

Terry

Poodle (Toy or Tea Cup) Bichon Frise

Male, Adult
Edmonton, AB
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Terry was my first dog my parents purchased for me and my sister while I was still technically a teenager back in Ontario, he was small, cute, had a positive attitude and loved to cuddle with whoever he felt closest too. He is still the same way, he can get anxiety if he feels his owner is gone for too long. When exposed to new environments, he adapts well and stays neutral, even if there are other animals. Unfortunately, even though now he is 6 years old, it simply is not the right circumstances to keep Terry. I have a newborn and when he starts crawling and walking we do not want to take the chance that he will bite him. On top of that, he can get anxious and loud when I the owner am not at home and I am working all day at my new job. This drives my partner crazy. Terry is not inherently aggressive at all. As long as you don't leave a chicken bone out, you won't have to deal with him growling at you to not take it from him. Other than that i would say he is pretty pleasant and cuddly

Story
Alfie is the most amazing, gentle, loving dog. He loves cuddles. He could sit beside you all day if you let him. Due to our son’s medical diagnosis, we have no choice but to rehome our sweet boy. He may be 12 but you’d never know! Although he plays well with other small dogs, I know he’ll want to be in a home with no other pets where he can be the only pampered pup. He has grown up with our 7 and 3 year old and has been nothing but amazing with them. He is fully house trained. He is not crate trained and does enjoy free rein around the house. He would love to sleep in his own bed in your room if you’d allow it. He just wants to be close to people. He loves to be chased around the yard and loves his back and tummy scratches

Story
We’re looking to find a good home for Winter, our 2ish year old borzoi/maremma/Great Pyrenees mix , spayed and fully up to date on vaccines. Clean bill of health. We adopted her from the humane society back in November 2024. Winter is a lazy, gentle, big goofball who becomes incredibly sweet once she trusts you. She can be nervous and bark at first with new people and animals, so she needs someone who really understands dogs, patience, and working with shy/ nervous pups. Winter’s ideal home would be with someone who understands she needs time to warm up to strangers, cats and small dogs (not good with big dogs). We are willing to drive anywhere in AB, and pay for her pet insurance for 3 months after rehoming and willing to do a trial run

Story
4 year old Lola is a survivor. She was pregnant and living on the side of a river, and surviving from scraps from a stranger. Eventually a kind stranger managed to get her and her puppies into shelter. Lola is a beautiful Mexican special mix – her pups look like small black labs – she may be a shepherd x terrier x lab mix. She’s her own mix of very special girl. Lola is lower energy, but spins in excitement if you might be so kind to toss her a ball, or when her dinner is ready. Check her out here: https://www.instagram.com/pvcaanimalrescue/reel/DR-vk8YksCo/ Lola is careful with strangers at first but also VERY affectionate. Lola isn’t keen to go far – she prefers the safety of the sanctuary – perhaps worried she may be dumped again. She is looking for a quiet loving home. She is healthy, spayed and vaccinated. If you think you might be a fit, we’d love to hear from you at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com. Please check your junk mail for our response.
