Story
Meet Sammy, a 1.5-year-old, 45 lb mixed-breed pup (possibly Border Collie/Terrier) with a heart of gold and so much love to give. She’s incredibly loyal to her family and trusted circle — a sweet, intelligent girl who thrives in the right environment. We love her deeply, which makes this decision so hard. Adopted Sammy from the local spca in September. She settled in quickly and became a loving companion. I had envisioned trail runs and city adventures, but Sammy’s reactivity to vehicles, bikes, toddlers, and other leashed dogs makes our busy urban lifestyle too overwhelming for her. Walks during peak hours are now a challenge, she needs calm, open space. Needs a home where: • She has space to run — ideally an acreage or pvt yard• There are no toddlers or reactive dogs in the home • Owner has experience with reactive dogs can support them -Plays well with calm, well-socialized dogs. She is crate trained, house trained, smart, loyal, sweet. Healthy, spayed, vaccines current.

Story
We adopted Lucy from the humane society when she was 1. We have had her for two years. We love her more than anything and she is gentle and kind. She is a nervous dog as is reactive to some other dogs. She is improving with time and training, but isn’t perfect. She love to be outside and to chase squirrels (and sometimes cats). She is housetrained and has good table manners. We are moving this summer and Lucy needs more space and attention than we can giver her. We hope to find her the best home.

Story
I received this puppy (born Dec 27 2024) as a gift from a friend in May 2025 and had him neutered June 18 2025. This picture was taken in July after being groomed for the summer. He is very smart, learns very quickly, sleeps in a soft kennel with no problems, eats dry food, loves kids and loves to fetch. I have a cat and a bird- I keep him leashed in their company for now. I live in a community with a large wild rabbit and coyote population. When he sees a rabbit or a coyote he wants to chase and I can hardly hold him. This morning a mature coyote crossed our path and when he started to aggressively bark the coyote started to follow us. He was jumping at me so hard to break free to chase and I was frantically trying to get off the isolated path we were on. I just don't have the strength to hold him in this situation and am afraid of coyotes. The phone # is a land line--if calling long distance call-please use my email. Thank you for viewing this post.

Story
3 year old Lola is looking for a home. This young lady was spending her days living near a riverbank carrying a litter of puppies. A kind woman would come to bring her food to help her survive. The woman couldn’t come for a few days due to illness and when she arrived she had had her puppies. Lola and the puppies that stayed with her were taken in by the SPCA PV with great relief. Lola has had a tough life. Lola has been grateful to recover and rest at the shelter but would love a family of her own. Lola likes people, though waits to make sure they are safe. She prefer male dogs, and is not fond of cats. She is spayed and vaccinated, weighing a perfect 40 lbs. If you think you might be Lola’s second chance as an adopter or foster, she’d love to hear from you by emailing us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com or going direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (Please check your junk mail in case our reply is redirected)

Story
Meet Dante! Breed: Doberman Age: < 2 years Location: Edmonton, AB Personality: Dante is a playful boy who knows basic commands and is very food motivated. He needs clear boundaries and a knowledgeable adopter to continue his training. Likes: He enjoys playing fetch, playing tug of war, puzzle toys, and running at the dog park. Dislikes: Although Dante wants to be with his people at all times, he isn't a cuddler. He does not like being left alone and although crate trained, he can be a bit vocal when left unattended. He should not be left uncrated if left alone. Dante can be protective of his home and needs a slow, calm and controlled introduction to visitors, even if they have met him before. He can be a bit unsure of new people upon initial meeting and can take a few minutes to warm up. Ideal Home: The ideal family does not have small children as he is a large dog who plays rough. He needs regular exercise and mental stimulation to make sure he doesn't become destructive. ‍‍‍ Family: Other pets in the home are okay, but best if it is confident female dog. He has previously lived with cats. Health: No known issues. Adoption Fee: $500 Dante has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. All adopters must agree not to use any punitive training methods. Apply to adopt Dante by submitting our adoption application at https://adoptadobe.com/adoption-application/. Please note that we do not ship dogs and all adoptions require a home visit and meet and greet prior to finalization. Donate to Dante’s care at https://adoptadobe.com/donate/. ##2365579##
