Story
3 year old Lola is looking for a home. This young lady was spending her days living near a riverbank carrying a litter of puppies. A kind woman would come to bring her food to help her survive. The woman couldn’t come for a few days due to illness and when she arrived she had had her puppies. Lola and the puppies that stayed with her were taken in by the SPCA PV with great relief. Lola has had a tough life. Lola has been grateful to recover and rest at the shelter but would love a family of her own. Lola likes people, though waits to make sure they are safe. She prefer male dogs, and is not fond of cats. She is spayed and vaccinated, weighing a perfect 40 lbs. If you think you might be Lola’s second chance as an adopter or foster, she’d love to hear from you by emailing us at pvcaadoptions@gmail.com or going direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (Please check your junk mail in case our reply is redirected)

Story
Meet Fox! Breed: Doberman/Kelpie X Age: 1 year Location: Edmonton, AB Personality: Fox is a happy go lucky goofball. Once he trusts you, if you tell him no, he will tip his head sideways and gently put a paw up, like, "you're just kidding... right???" When he is unsure of the appropriate behavior in a situation, he will rely more on other dogs' behavior than on commands. Likes: Playing with other dogs -- racing them, wrestling them, hanging with them. He also loves his house kitten, and the Dachshund that rules inside. His favorite treat is watermelon. Dislikes: Being in the house for extended periods of time, especially by himself. He doesn't like sidewalks or a lot of traffic noise. He was originally "bred" by farmers, and was found on a reserve after being dumped there with some of his siblings. He had been an outside dog for the first 10.5 months of his life, so he is still adjusting to home life. Ideal Home: In the country, preferably a farm or large acreage. He has shown some interest in working with his foster's cows and heifers. He could also excel at agility, as scaling a bale stack 3 large bales high is not an issue. He is incredibly curious and does use his nose a lot, so scent training may also be an option. He needs at least one other dog for company. ‍‍‍ Family: Must be able to provide mind engaging exercise as well as incredible amounts of physical exercise. He isn't much into toys and PEOPLE, but toys and other DOGS he will engage. He is good with all dogs, big and small, loves his foster home's kitty, and has been around livestock, since he is being fostered on a farm. Health: No issues. Adoption Fee: $500 Fox has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. All adopters must agree not to use any punitive training methods including, but not limited to, leash corrections; pinning; alpha rolls; and prong, pinch, choke, shock, or e-collars.  Apply to adopt Fox by submitting our adoption application at https://adoptadobe.com/adoption-application/. All adoptions require a home visit and meet and greet with other pets, prior to finalization. We do not ship dogs sight unseen.  Donate to Fox’s care at https://adoptadobe.com/donate/. ##2572305##

Story
Meet Dante! Breed: Doberman Age: 2 years Location: Edmonton, AB Personality: Dante is a playful boy who knows basic commands and is very food motivated. He needs clear boundaries and a knowledgeable adopter to continue his training. Likes: He enjoys playing fetch, playing tug of war, puzzle toys, and running at the dog park. Dislikes: Although Dante wants to be with his people at all times, he isn't a cuddler. He does not like being left alone and although crate trained, he can be a bit vocal when left unattended. He should not be left uncrated if left alone. Dante can be protective of his home and needs a slow, calm and controlled introduction to visitors, even if they have met him before. He can be a bit unsure of new people upon initial meeting and can take a few minutes to warm up. Ideal Home: The ideal family does not have small children as he is a large dog who plays rough. He needs regular exercise and mental stimulation to make sure he doesn't become destructive. ‍‍‍ Family: Other pets in the home are okay, but best if it is confident female dog. He has previously lived with cats. Health: No known issues. Adoption Fee: $500 Dante has been neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. All adopters must agree not to use any punitive training methods. Apply to adopt Dante by submitting our adoption application at https://adoptadobe.com/adoption-application/. Please note that we do not ship dogs and all adoptions require a home visit and meet and greet prior to finalization. Donate to Dante’s care at https://adoptadobe.com/donate/. ##2365579##
