Story
Meet Bailey. She is approximately 7years old. She is crate trained, house trained, spayed and current on vaccinations. Bailey is a loving dog with very good house manners. She is active and needs an active family or owner with a fenced back yard. She likes kids, but she has not been around very small children, so she might not know to be careful. For that reason only, we recommend that she not go to a family with children under 10 years old. Bailey is friendly with people and she gets along with other medium and large dogs with a proper introduction. She has not been around very small yappy dogs or cats so we don't recommend that. If you are interested in adding Bailey to your family, please contact Painted Paws Rescue Ranch. Her adoption fee is a $250 tax deductible contribution to our Spay/Neuter fund.

Story
Meet Max. He was born in May 2025. His pregnant mother was rescued from a hording situation. Max is up-to-date on his shots and is already neutered. He is very friendly, playful and looking for his forever home here in southern New Mexico. He is confident, enjoys toys and wants to be a part of any adventure. He has started house training, but as with any puppy his age, his adopter would need to be patient and consistent for the next several months. If you would like to add Max to your family, please contact us for an Application of Interest. We adopt our animals to the general public. You do not need to be a Veteran to adopt from our program. Applications are followed by a home check to make sure the home is safe for a puppy and to make sure you are real and he will not end up as a bait dog. Max's safety is our first priority.

Story
Hello! This is Kota and I adopted him when he was one month old and he is about 10 months old now. He was estimated to be no more than 40 pounds and now he is at 65 pounds. He is a big boy and loves to play, especially with other dogs. I have never trained or owned a big puppy before and he has a lot of energy. He jumps on people and bites to play. I have tried training but I have failed. He knows basic commands and is very much food motivated. He has not destroyed furniture but will chew on anything else. I attempted to rehome him last week but I found out he does not do well with small children. He loves kids but would jump and tackle and bite the kids to try to play with them. The person I rehomed him to called me to take him back. I can’t keep him or train him. I also have a very busy schedule and he needs a lot of play time and walks. Preferably a home with another dog for him to play with as well. He is a good boy and loves cuddles and is sweet until he wants to play.
