Story
Brittany can be reached at 575-740-6235 (call/text). Brittany is taking care of these three husky dogs. They belonged to her father in law but he moved and left the dogs with Brittany. She needs to find them a home. All information has been provided by Brittany.  They've always been outside dogs so probably not house trained. They are not good with cats. They have only been living with each other and have not been socialized with other dogs. Two of them are one year old and the other is two years old. All three are males. They are not neutered. (Low cost neuters have been offered.) They had a set of shots as puppies but are not up to date on shots now.    To discuss adopting one of these beautiful dogs who deserve better, Brittany can be reached at 575-740-6235 (call/text).      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 10, 2024, 11:59 am

Story
Hello folks! I'm Nutmeg and I'm everything you're looking for in a dog. Need housetrained? I wouldn't dream of making a mess. Need a girl who excels at agility and is active but also loves lounging with you on the sofa with you watching Netflix? Righty-oh! Thats me. Want a pup who pays close attention to everything her owners says? I'm your girl! I know my commands, look and listen, and focus well on my people. But more than that, I've lived in a family with children and was the apple of my family's eye. They could not keep me but can attest to the love in my heart, the goodness of my soul, the gentleness and kindness I bring to my home. I'm an absolute gem and I aim to show you that on our very first meeting. I am five years old, maybe a beagle/terrier mix, and 40 pounds. I am friendly, happy, and sweet. I've lived well with a dog my size and my family said I am good with cats too. I would be happy to have a family where there is usually someone around like a parent or another pet, as I am used to a lot of togetherness. I enjoy being in a loving home so much and I cannot wait until I have that again. Until then, I'll keep making everyone here at Desert Haven smile. I have a big beautiful one of my own too and I like to use it often. I'm a happy girl even though I have a medical condition. I have diabetes. This is a condition which requires me to have a shot of insulin after I eat breakfast and another shot of insulin after supper. I'll need these insulin injections for the rest of my life. My insulin helps me stay healthy and I know that so guess what I do? I sit perfectly well for my shot. My caretaker is able to give my shot lickety split and then we hug and it's like it didn't even happen! I'm such a good girl. I wonder if there is a human diabetic out there that would love me as a companion? But really, the shots are pretty simple so anyone who is awesome could make me part of their family and the folks at Desert Haven will teach you all about my healthcare plan and how to do my injections and meal timings. My health condition is a blip in my day really. The rest of the time we spend hanging out and snuggling together. I have a big soft cushy doggie bed and I love to jump into it then I get cozy. I love going for walks too. I'll also be spending a lot of time snoozing lots of the day away because you know how us dogs like to snoozeatooze. But don't forget play time because that's on of my favorite times of the day. Chase chase chase the toys! Squeak squeak squeak. Most of all though, I crave love. I am love! So if I'm your girl, there will be big love in store for all of us. I am a bestie of all besties. Are you in need of a companion? I am yours. To meet me: Drop in at Desert Haven on Tuesdays 9-4 or call/text 575-740-0643 to schedule an appointment any day of the week because guess what Greta does, she drops everything to do intros! Story
Hello, I'm Crockett! I am six months old (born May 1) and I am living at Desert Haven until I get adopted. Here at Desert Haven I have always had roommates because I meet every dog in a happy and friendly way. I am submissive when needed or I can take the lead in the play. I'm good with cats too. Cats are a little different from me and I think that's curious and neat. And people? Boy howdy! Young, old, and everything in between - I love each and every hooman on the planet! Wanna know why? Because they have hands and hearts. Hands are for petting me because there is no such thing as too much belly rubs. Hands are for clapping for me when I do a good sit because I love to bask in your praise. Hands are for holding my leash because I really enjoy going for walks. And hearts! Oh, hearts! I have an enormous one so I really want a family that can match the love in my heart. My family should want a goodest boy with a heart of gold. I am tender and sweet. Playful and happy. Plus, I can lounge and nap with the best of em. To be honest, I am equally happy with a do-nothing day lounging on the sofa while you read or watch Netflix as I am to get in my harness and go for a hike. I am not one of those go-go-go puppies though I am ready to go to the patio at the Brewery when you are. But above all, snuggling is one of my favorite pastimes so I will put in my order now for a family who wants a puppy who loves being affectionate. Here's how it will probably go when you come to meet me: When I see you and I catch your eye, I will lay down and show you my belly so you can rub it. Once you start rubbing it we'll lock eyes and then good luck to you because the Belly Rub Invitation is my speciality and very few people can resist it. Best to bring a collar and leash along because if you have loving hands, room in your heart, and the want for the best puppy ever -- you'll be making me yours. See you soon. Story
COURTESY POST – All information has been provided by owner, Criss. Please contact Criss at 307-421-9385 for additional information. Roxy is about 1 and 1/2 years old and currently living with her family in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico. She is kennel and house trained. She has never been around kids or cats so we're not really sure how she interacts with them. She is a little protective over food. She loves to snuggle. She is an energetic puppy. We have started leash training her, and she does not pull at this time. She’s very good at looking to the walker for commands. She has just started learning about toys, so this is something new for her. She is not fixed at this time. We are willing to travel within 150-mile radius. She is an indoor-outdoor dog so she is used to being outdoors and we have worked with her on being indoors as well. She is a solid medium size dog, and she is a bit of a digger. Her breed is Blue heeler Rottweiler mix. If it doesn't work out, her family is willing to take her back. Please contact Criss at 307-421-9385 for any inquiries on Roxy.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 4, 2026, 11:35 am
