Story
Meet Boogie! A charming three-year-old Dogo Argentino mix currently living in Glendora, CA, whose big heart is as prominent as his 90-pound frame, and whose white coat with bold black patches makes him a true standout. Boogie’s story hasn’t been easy, but through it all, he’s held onto his gentle spirit and zest for life. Rescued from a tough situation and lifted into safety by a compassionate chain of humans, Boogie is now looking for his next adventure. A new loving home where he can be someone’s loyal hiking buddy, snuggle partner, and full-time best friend! Playful and affectionate, Boogie has a goofy side that shines brightest when he’s splashing in the pool, chasing squeaky pig toys, or trying to wrap his giant paws around you in one of his signature full-body hugs! He’s a natural with older kids who can match his playful energy (and sturdy build), and he absolutely adores spending time with people. Whether it’s lounging on the couch or exploring the outdoors, he’s happiest when he’s by your side. Boogie is dog-selective and has a history of aggression toward other dogs, including a quick bite during a past interaction. Because of this, Boogie needs to be the only pet in the home. Boogie is house-trained, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations. While he hasn’t had formal training, he knows “sit” and learns best through positive reinforcement, especially when snacks are involved! He’s fine being left alone for short periods but truly blossoms when he gets consistent human interaction and time to bond. What makes Boogie unforgettable is his unwavering gratitude. He radiates love, even after all he’s been through. This big baby isn’t just looking for a place to stay, he’s looking for a new family to love, protect, and grow with. Could your heart and home be the next stop in Boogie’s remarkable journey? To learn more or arrange a meet-and-greet, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com. Boogie’s tail is already wagging at the thought!

Story
Marco was surrendered by his owner because they were unable to care for him properly. He had to be kept from another dog on the property, and he ended up in several fights, with injuries. The minute he came here, he was a happy, sweet boy, full of energy.Marco is a super loving dog who doesn’t know his size and strength and was never trained properly with boundaries for safety. These breeds get a bad reputation because they often serve as simply a guard dog, when they are so much more. Will he detour strangers from entering your home, yes, absolutely, but he’d prefer to do it from a couch or a comfy dog bed and not chained up or left outdoors consistently. He would also enjoy a large yard where he could run and play and if there is proper shelter, he could be part of our Outdoor Explores Club.Marco will need obedience training after being adopted. Our experienced volunteers are working with him now and he is responding well to positive re-enforcement. He should have continued training until the adopter is confident that their cues and commands are observed and followed by him.He is not crazy about other dogs currently, yet we continue to safely try with our play groups to see if there is certain type of dog that he is partial to. For now, he would need to be the only PET in the home. We are unsure if he has been around children, so a meet and greet is a must. Not a first time dog for anyone, experienced only!2/9/26 making good progress in the play group with other bigs!

Story
Stroller king coming through! Opus is ready to turn heads with you as he takes on the world from his chariot. Whether it’s a trip to the beach, a brewery patio hang, or a walk (on wheels) around the neighborhood, Opus just loves to be invited. And he creates a fan club no matter where he goes. When he’s not winning friends and influencing people on his many adventures, Opus is a dog of simple pleasures at home. He loves to snuggle with his foster family, join in on kitchen dance parties, and sunbathe. He lives with other large dogs who he loves to play and rest with, and he has even paid it forward by being a big brother to many little foster puppies throughout his time in our program. About that stroller: Opus had a rough start to his life and sustained some injuries that have reduced his mobility. He’s able to get around the house, but will need your help with a few daily activities. And Opus does have some preferences about architectural design—due to his mobility, he would prefer a home with minimal stairs and a yard for his lounging pleasures. If life alongside one of the most charming and resilient dogs in town sounds like your style, Opus would love to meet you.

Story
Meet Brooks! This handsome 3-year-old Dogo Argentino came into a Northern California shelter with his brother Dunn (yes, Brooks & Dunn, but no country songs required here ). While Dunn found his path, Brooks waited patiently for over a year until a kind foster opened their home to him. Now, thanks to DC Dogos, Brooks officially has a chance to find his forever family. Brooks is the total package: Trained & Polite – Crate trained, housebroken, walks nicely on leash, and knows his basic obedience. Talented – Can catch treats mid-air like a pro and enjoys puzzles, nose work, and enrichment games. Playful & Goofy – Loves tossing his stuffies in the air, catching them, and zooming around proudly. He’ll even “bite the air” when he’s feeling silly. Loving Companion – Cuddles, kisses, and snuggles are his specialties. He plays well with balanced female dogs and takes good care of his toys. Adventure-Ready – Loads into the car easily and is a wonderful passenger. If you’re looking for a sweet, silly, and loyal best friend who’s ready to sing his own love song with you, Brooks might just be your guy. Apply to adopt: dcdogos.org/adopt Location: Ukiah, CA

Meet Obi! Obi is an almost 2 month old Boxer mix weighing in at about 14 pounds of pure puppy joy. He’s spunky, curious, and always on the move, especially when he’s running and playing with his puppy siblings. Obi and his littermates were born in our care after their mom was rescued from a high-intake shelter while pregnant. Thanks to that second chance, Obi has known safety, love, and plenty of socialization from day one. This little guy is looking for an adopter who’s ready for the fun and responsibility that comes with a new puppy, someone committed to continuing his basic puppy training and helping him grow into a well-mannered adult dog. Obi is up to date on vaccinations and microchipped, and he’s ready to start his next chapter with a forever family. If you’re looking for a playful pup with a big personality, Obi might just be your perfect match.
