Story
Meet Boogie! A charming three-year-old Dogo Argentino mix currently living in Glendora, CA, whose big heart is as prominent as his 90-pound frame, and whose white coat with bold black patches makes him a true standout. Boogie’s story hasn’t been easy, but through it all, he’s held onto his gentle spirit and zest for life. Rescued from a tough situation and lifted into safety by a compassionate chain of humans, Boogie is now looking for his next adventure. A new loving home where he can be someone’s loyal hiking buddy, snuggle partner, and full-time best friend! Playful and affectionate, Boogie has a goofy side that shines brightest when he’s splashing in the pool, chasing squeaky pig toys, or trying to wrap his giant paws around you in one of his signature full-body hugs! He’s a natural with older kids who can match his playful energy (and sturdy build), and he absolutely adores spending time with people. Whether it’s lounging on the couch or exploring the outdoors, he’s happiest when he’s by your side. Boogie is dog-selective and has a history of aggression toward other dogs, including a quick bite during a past interaction. Because of this, Boogie needs to be the only pet in the home. Boogie is house-trained, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations. While he hasn’t had formal training, he knows “sit” and learns best through positive reinforcement, especially when snacks are involved! He’s fine being left alone for short periods but truly blossoms when he gets consistent human interaction and time to bond. What makes Boogie unforgettable is his unwavering gratitude. He radiates love, even after all he’s been through. This big baby isn’t just looking for a place to stay, he’s looking for a new family to love, protect, and grow with. Could your heart and home be the next stop in Boogie’s remarkable journey? To learn more or arrange a meet-and-greet, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com. Boogie’s tail is already wagging at the thought!

Story
Stroller king coming through! Opus is ready to turn heads with you as he takes on the world from his chariot. Whether it’s a trip to the beach, a brewery patio hang, or a walk (on wheels) around the neighborhood, Opus just loves to be invited. And he creates a fan club no matter where he goes. When he’s not winning friends and influencing people on his many adventures, Opus is a dog of simple pleasures at home. He loves to snuggle with his foster family, join in on kitchen dance parties, and sunbathe. He lives with other large dogs who he loves to play and rest with, and he has even paid it forward by being a big brother to many little foster puppies throughout his time in our program. About that stroller: Opus had a rough start to his life and sustained some injuries that have reduced his mobility. He’s able to get around the house, but will need your help with a few daily activities. And Opus does have some preferences about architectural design—due to his mobility, he would prefer a home with minimal stairs and a yard for his lounging pleasures. If life alongside one of the most charming and resilient dogs in town sounds like your style, Opus would love to meet you.

Story
Courtesy Post: Please email animalarmyla@gmail.com for more info. Meet Cjay- Goof, derp, lover of life. Cjay’s loving, loyal, funny – he’s a tongue flopping, trotting next to you kind of bestie. He’s a great hybrid dog who loves to enjoy the great outdoors and go on walks, play ball, bike ride and hike. But he also is a chill couch potato who likes to cozy in and watch TV. Everyone who meets Cjay falls in love with him – he’s one of those dogs who doesn’t lack for personality haha and keeps you laughing. Cjay’s not the right dog for everyone and that’s ok. But for a family who are strong leaders with a kind heart, Cjay is the PERFECT pup. In the words of his trainer: “Cjay’s life reminds me of an old childhood movie All Dogs Go to Heaven, a story about redemption, love, and second chances. He wasn’t always the big teddy bear he is today. In fact he was the complete opposite – rough around the edges shaped by fear and survival where fighting was his only instinct, a life he never chose but was forced to live. But somehow, through it all, he learned to love. Now, he’s like a kid who never outgrew his favorite stuffed animal, he’s always seeking connection and giving his whole heart. When I look at him, and see through his droopy eyes, I see a second chance at life, a world where it means to be kind, to trust, and to find joy in the little things. I never really thought much of it, but when I see Cjay run like the wind on his morning bike rides or go barreling into the bushes in the open fields, there’s something very poetic about the way he lives. It’s always the small things that make him happy, the unlikeliest of places like finding a patch of grass and rolling around like it’s the greatest treasure in the world. In those moments, he reminds me that happiness doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s in the simple and honest things that show the true meaning of happiness that show even the deepest scars can heal, and even the roughest beginnings can lead to something beautiful.” But what’s incredible about Cjay like his trainer so eloquently says, is that in spite of everything he’s been through, his joy for life outshines all. And what’s unique about Cjay’s situation is that he has already done the work and is a super well trained dog. No need to invest in expensive board and trains, we’ll teach you what Cjay already knows and provide continued support for consistency, but he’s home ready thanks to his willingness to learn :) He’s more than earned the stability and ease and comfort of home and family Cjay’s willingness to learn and hard work have made him SO ready for a home. The only bright side of being in left in limbo is that Cjay was left at first in a great in depth board and train program for over half of the past two years (and is brushing up on his skills anew now) and is a super trained dog with a strong skillset. When he’s out, people wherever (even at the mall which is an overwhelming place for all of us!) remark on how good he is. He is an excellent listener, he is super duper smart and he has done - the - work! Cjay loves ball, oh boy oh boy oh boy, he lovessss playing ball. He also loves early morning bike rides or long walks. What a guyyyyy! He knows “place” and is trained not to sit on the couch. Unless you want him to sit on the couch in which case he would be thrilled to join the fam ;) Cjay needs a dog savvy home to be his advocate and know his past doesn’t define him and he deserves the happiest life. He will need the continued structure of maintaining his training which isn’t hard, it just takes someone who cares to give him consistency and set everyone up for success 🙂 Everyone who meets Cjay falls in love with him. As such, he has a whole little team invested in his future ready to help his new family. His current trainer will provide training sessions and ongoing support so you know what Cjay knows :) And we will cover Cjay’s vet care for life! All he needs now is a family to love him forever Please email animalarmyla@gmail.com for more info.
