Story
Meet Boogie! A charming three-year-old Dogo Argentino mix currently living in Glendora, CA, whose big heart is as prominent as his 90-pound frame, and whose white coat with bold black patches makes him a true standout. Boogie’s story hasn’t been easy, but through it all, he’s held onto his gentle spirit and zest for life. Rescued from a tough situation and lifted into safety by a compassionate chain of humans, Boogie is now looking for his next adventure. A new loving home where he can be someone’s loyal hiking buddy, snuggle partner, and full-time best friend! Playful and affectionate, Boogie has a goofy side that shines brightest when he’s splashing in the pool, chasing squeaky pig toys, or trying to wrap his giant paws around you in one of his signature full-body hugs! He’s a natural with older kids who can match his playful energy (and sturdy build), and he absolutely adores spending time with people. Whether it’s lounging on the couch or exploring the outdoors, he’s happiest when he’s by your side. Boogie is dog-selective and has a history of aggression toward other dogs, including a quick bite during a past interaction. Because of this, Boogie needs to be the only pet in the home. Boogie is house-trained, neutered, and up-to-date on vaccinations. While he hasn’t had formal training, he knows “sit” and learns best through positive reinforcement, especially when snacks are involved! He’s fine being left alone for short periods but truly blossoms when he gets consistent human interaction and time to bond. What makes Boogie unforgettable is his unwavering gratitude. He radiates love, even after all he’s been through. This big baby isn’t just looking for a place to stay, he’s looking for a new family to love, protect, and grow with. Could your heart and home be the next stop in Boogie’s remarkable journey? To learn more or arrange a meet-and-greet, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com. Boogie’s tail is already wagging at the thought!

Story
Stroller king coming through! Opus is ready to turn heads with you as he takes on the world from his chariot. Whether it’s a trip to the beach, a brewery patio hang, or a walk (on wheels) around the neighborhood, Opus just loves to be invited. And he creates a fan club no matter where he goes. When he’s not winning friends and influencing people on his many adventures, Opus is a dog of simple pleasures at home. He loves to snuggle with his foster family, join in on kitchen dance parties, and sunbathe. He lives with other large dogs who he loves to play and rest with, and he has even paid it forward by being a big brother to many little foster puppies throughout his time in our program. About that stroller: Opus had a rough start to his life and sustained some injuries that have reduced his mobility. He’s able to get around the house, but will need your help with a few daily activities. And Opus does have some preferences about architectural design—due to his mobility, he would prefer a home with minimal stairs and a yard for his lounging pleasures. If life alongside one of the most charming and resilient dogs in town sounds like your style, Opus would love to meet you.

Story
Meet Johnny Cash! A spirited three-and-a-half-year-old Boxer/Husky mix currently in Los Angeles, CA, whose essence is a thrilling blend of wild adventure and devoted affection, all wrapped in a striking brindle coat with charming white accents. Cash is a powerhouse of energy and joy, perfect for someone who craves the open trail, a daily runner’s high, or the quiet satisfaction of a long mountain hike. With his strong, athletic build and endless stamina, he's happiest logging 8 to 9 miles beside his human. He’s not just a running buddy, he’s the kind who’ll carry his favorite chew bone to greet you at the door and then snuggle up close when the day is done. At home, Cash is a big-hearted cuddlebug! He adores cozy time with his human family, especially the younger crew, he’s gentle and affectionate with his guardian’s nephews, ages 10 and 13. His play style is impressively adaptable: he loves a good rough-and-tumble with a young Ridgeback, but can switch gears to match the gentler vibe of his senior Staffordshire Terrier pal. That said, Cash has shown a preference for his canine companions and can be selective, he gets along well with some dogs but has made it clear he's not a fan of Frenchies. Cash is house-trained, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and obedience-trained. He knows sit, down, heel, go to place, and more! He thrives on structure and routine and is content being alone for up to six hours. Due to a sensitive stomach, he’s on a hydrolyzed protein and dehydrated diet, which has worked wonders for his digestion. Now, Cash isn’t the right match for every household, his high prey drive is strong and non-negotiable. Shortly after being adopted at five months old, Cash severely injured the family cat. While the cat made a full recovery, the incident required veterinary care, and during the chaos, family members were bitten while attempting to separate the animals. He continues to show intense prey drive toward small animals, and he cannot live with cats or be trusted off leash under any circumstances. He pulls toward squirrels and small dogs on walks and must remain securely leashed at all times outdoors. He needs a guardian who understands and can confidently manage this behavior. Despite these challenges, Cash has a loving heart and a joyful spirit. Could you be the experienced, active pet parent Cash needs to thrive? Email adopt@joyfulpets.com and take the first step toward adventure and a whole lot of love!

Story
Meet Baby! A soulful six-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/Boxer mix currently living in Menlo Park, CA, whose heart is as big as her brindle-and-white frame and whose journey is nothing short of miraculous. Rescued from euthanasia on New Year’s Eve 2024, Baby stepped into the new year with a tail wag and a spirit full of hope! She’s a sweet, affectionate girl who thrives on belly rubs, squeaky toys, and romping around the house or the yard with her favorite humans. Whether she’s tossing a squeaky tennis ball in the air or curling up for a midday nap, Baby brings warmth and joy to every moment! She’s especially wonderful for someone who works from home. She’ll quietly entertain herself with puzzle toys or nap peacefully nearby, but she’s always up for a game of indoor fetch, a stroll around the block, or a breezy car ride. With soulful eyes and a go-with-the-flow vibe, Baby is equal parts loyal sidekick and playful spirit. Baby is incredibly intelligent and already knows sit, down, and wait. Plus, she’s always eager to please! She does require some special care due to underlying allergies, chronic ear infections, and an upcoming surgery for a small mast cell tumor. Her caregivers are actively fundraising to support her continued medical needs, and she remains bright, loving, and full of life through it all. She also has an old ACL injury that doesn’t slow her down too much but may make her a little stiff after a big play session. Baby is dog-reactive and prefers not to share her space with other animals, except for her very best friend, Boogie. If you're considering a dynamic duo, Baby and Boogie would love nothing more than to find a home together, where they can continue their beautiful bond. A calm, pet-free home without small children would be the perfect environment for Baby to thrive. Are you ready to open your heart and home to a gentle, playful girl who’s ready to be your favorite coworker, cuddle buddy, and walking partner? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and let Baby bring her beautiful light into your life! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets. Story
Meet Blu! A vibrant approximately almost two-year-old Boxer/American Pitbull Terrier mix currently living in Los Angeles, CA, whose boundless energy is perfectly matched by her big heart and beautiful brown brindle coat with white accents. Blu’s story began in the most unexpected way, she followed a kind soul home from a grocery store and never looked back. Since then, she’s been spayed, vaccinated, and doted on with loving care. Living alongside two senior pups and a couple of confident cats, Blu has shown gentle patience and a genuine eagerness to belong. But it’s clear she’s ready for more, a space to stretch her legs, a routine to call her own, and a family ready to match her curiosity with companionship. At 65 pounds, Blu is a large pup with a personality even bigger! She’s affectionate, incredibly smart, and motivated to please. Her favorite pastimes? Fetch with her beloved soft frisbee, epic tug-o-war matches, chewing on yak cheese, and zooming around the yard like a joyful whirlwind! She also enjoys a bit of enrichment through supervised shredding. She loves tearing up soft toys (like her Tearable monster toy!) and has discovered the fun of tugging on cardboard strips offered to her during training. It’s been a creative way to channel her natural need to rip and chew, and she hasn’t chewed on anything off-limits in months. Blu knows an impressive list of commands including sit, wait, down, up, leave it, come, and more! She responds well to structure and loves training, especially when it comes with treats and praise. Though she’s still working through her sensitivity to passing cars and men in baseball caps, she’s made steady progress with positive reinforcement. Blu is still a young dog, she's energetic and can get excitable. This usually results in jumping up on people and cobbing, though her caregivers have done a lot of work to help her manage these behaviors. She can also be destructive when under-stimulated, which makes regular mental and physical enrichment essential. She does best with three walks a day, plenty of playtime, and enrichment activities to keep her mind engaged. A fenced yard is a big plus, as is a family who enjoys an active lifestyle and has time to include her in their daily routine. She’s crate-trained, house-trained, and has been comfortable being left alone for short periods. Blu is searching for a new loving home where she can thrive. Somewhere with room to romp, people to love, and someone who finds her endearing mix of sweetness and spunk just as delightful as we do! Are you ready to make Blu your loyal sidekick and adventure buddy? To learn more about adopting Blu, contact adopt@joyfulpets.com! Content Notice: This pet is represented by Joyful Pets.
