There are so many good things to say about Eugene that it is hard to sum it up in one paragraph! He came to Dakin and was a timid boy. Once comfortably settled in his room here, he would greet staff at the door when he heard them come in every morning and afternoon. Eugene is in foster now, quite a change from being homeless. He found himself in a home where he has an entire bedroom and bathroom to himself! It must have been a bit overwhelming initially. He's starting to come out of his shell, and he's learning the top of the bed is better than hiding underneath the bed. Eugene loves having a window to look out of and that's pretty much as close to the outdoors he ever wants to get again. Foster mom says he's now into pets, pets and more pets, especially on the chin, back and neck, but the belly is off limits. He also likes to have his luxurious, long fur brushed. Eugene gets along well with fellow felines. He is FIV+ but that doesn't does affect his ability to melt your heart and be your ideal companion. FIV is a cat-only virus and does not affect people or dogs. FIV+ cats most often live long, healthy, and relatively normal lives with no symptoms at all. FIV is not easily passed between cats. If you are looking to add an FIV+ cat to your family and you currently have cats that are not FIV+ please speak with your vet. Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. This sweet boy is a total love! He will head butt you while you try to feed him, and he loves being petted. Bishop recently had his injured eye removed and is on the mend. Bruno is 1 year old, litter box trained, and loves to play. Bruno is fun to watch when he gets the zoomies and will play with most toys. Bruno has no problems with children of all ages. He was given up, along with his sister May May and his brother Maui. They live with other male and female cats and get along with no issues. Ghost is a very affectionate cat. He is perfectly content to spend the entire day in your lap or curled up on the couch. Ghost like to be where is people are, and is very social throughout the day. His favorite toys are mobiles or anything that spins and he can take a good swat at. He plays very well with other cats and doesn't mind dogs. Ghost enjoys sunbathing in the window sill and making sure your chair is warm when you sit down. He is great with children and will even let toddlers pick him up. Ghost is very vocal when it is dinner time and when he wants attention.
