Story
We looked outside our kitchen window one afternoon a couple of months ago to find this gorgeous little floof sunning herself on the hood of our car. We put out food for ferals (and get them fixed!) but we had never seen her before. Upon investigation, she was clearly feral but young enough that we could trap her and bring her inside. Madonna is what is known as a Spirit Cat: she was born outside and had no human contact in her critical first two months, leaving her wary of humans. She is not aggressive and is tolerant of human company, frequently climbing on the bed with me or approaching me curiously. However, she is skittish around people, does not like to be approached, and will probably never be a lap cat. She absolutely loves other cats and would be a great companion for a young playful cat or kitten who is in need of a friend. She would love to find a home with her friend Noel, also a Spirit Cat, and we would offer a discounted adoption fee to an adopter willing to take them together. However, Madonna would do well in any calm, patient home with a playful cat and without young children. She would be perfect for someone who already has an affectionate lap cat who is lonely and looking for another cat to play with. Madonna is so beautiful that simply admiring her from a distance makes us all feel honored! She is a long-haired beauty who has some Ragdoll features.     May 18, 2025, 8:58 pm

Story
Hoarder cats are House Spirits - very shy with people. They live in your home, but are rarely seen - visitors will never see them. They are cats who live with you, and who may sometimes grant you the opportunity to touch them. Or, they may not. Here's what to expect with these special cats: These cats WILL: They're great with other cats! They are used to living with many cats, and are excellent companions for other cats. Over time, they will most likely get used to one or two people who will be allowed to touch them. They may choose to hang out near you, or sleep on the bed with you at night. They are a great choice for patient, kind people with a quiet household, who want to make a difference for an individual cat - one that few people have the patience to help. They are a fine choice for situations where you don't have a lot of time to devote to a pet - most of these kitties do not need or want much attention from people. These cats will not: They will not magically turn into normal acting cats; what you see is what they will be like for a long time, maybe always. Some will change more than others, but be prepared for what you see now. They will not be a good choice for busy homes. Ready to Adopt? Story
Meet Maria the Boy! They thought he was a girl the first few months of his life, but he learned his name quickly because he won't respond to anything else. Maria is a friendly and social boy who loves to be around the action. He loves head scratches and playing with the other cats in the home. He has experience with children, other cats, and small dogs! Change is hard for this cat. This cat will be very nervous when you first bring them home. You will need to set up a room with a litter box, food, and water. It will take days for this cat to become comfortable and confident in the new home. This cat will be going home with a behavior plan that will need to be followed in order for everyone to transition successfully. Ready to Adopt? Story
Mochi is a sweet, lounge-loving boy who is looking for a calm and patient home where he can truly settle in. He came to the shelter with his friend Rusty (also available for adoption). According to his previous owners, Mochi loves to relax and hang out, enjoying the quieter moments of the day. Don’t let his laid-back nature fool you, though—he gets the zoomies often and can suddenly burst into playful energy, racing around and having fun on his own terms. Mochi is very nervous with new people and will need time and understanding to build trust. He has lived with a dog in the past but was quite nervous and preferred to keep his distance, so a calm home—possibly without dogs or with very slow introductions—would be ideal. The cat you are adopting is very shy. Patience and a gentle approach will be necessary to form a bond and help this cat feel that they are safe in their new environment. This means that the cat is likely to not want to interact with you at first and will need time to settle in and relax. It is likely to take weeks to months for this cat to become comfortable in your home. Even once settled, they may always be a shy cat who runs from visitors. In order to have the best chance at creating a lasting bond with your new cat, you must go at their pace. When you get home, this cat should be set up in one room of your home, with a door that will stay shut while the cat adjusts. They should be offered a variety of foods and plenty of appropriate hiding places to help them feel safe during this transition. The cat should not be let out of their room until they seem like they are making progress and seem to want to explore more of the house. Story
Smurfette 2 1/2 years old beautiful sweet girl. She is the Biggest Lap cat there ever was. She will sit in your lap until you physically put her down. She is so loving and wants lots of Attention from her human. She just wants to be with someone all the time. Would make a wonderful Emotional support animal for someone. She is very quiet and lazy. Very tidy with her food and liter. She’s ok with other cats after slow acclimation but would do great as an only child.  Smurfette is Indoor only and looking for her furever home. ##2552508##

Story
Rosie is a sweet little girl with a big heart.  She’s very petite. She has short munchkin legs. She has beautiful long hair and bushy tail with Gorgeous green eyes. She’s very Timid and Shy and very quiet. She takes a little bit to warm up to her human but once she does she’s very loving. She doesn’t like loud noises. She stays to herself. She’s very independent and loves other cats. She wouldn’t do well as an only cat.  She needs someone to be patient with her and show her how to trust and love. She would do great in a quiet home. She’s not a lap cat but you can pick her up and hold her.  Not sure how she is with dogs because she’s never been around any but couldn’t be a loud barking one because she’s scared of loud noise. Probably do best with older well mannered children. Indoor only. Rosie is looking for her furever home ##2568210##
