Story
Are you looking for a cat who would like to be in your presence all of the time? Then Levy is the girl for you. She is a super social girl who likes to be in the thick of things. She loves playing with toys - she will chase a crinkle ball, bat around some crumpled paper, and fly through the air chasing a wand toy. We do not have any past history on her. She came in as a stray. She has been with us for a while and has become a staff favorite while in our care. She is now ready to find her new family and make other peoples lives happy and complete. Check out the video included to learn more from our friend Jackson Galaxy about living peacefully with sassy cats! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. All cat adoption fees include; -spay/neuter -rabies vaccine -current distemper vaccines (may need additional boosters with your veterinarian) -FeLV/FIV blood test -microchip implanted & registered to the adopter -treatment of fleas/ticks/ear mites -veterinary exam and health certificate at Dakin -free vet exam within 30 days after adoption with participating veterinarians Most pets have also received other medical care while with us. Your veterinarian may recommend additional health care for your new pet.

Cutie is 6 years old. Nice cat. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! Email adoptions@ctcatconnection.org with a question or better yet, complete an application for quickest consideration. (Application: https://www.ctcatconnection.org/adoption-application/). Please consider fostering a cat or dog by applying on our website.A cat's behavior in the shelter is usually not what it will be like in your home; if the cat is nervous, anxious, or agitated, please know that a shelter is a very stressful place for a cat.Kitten Policy: It is important to understand that the socialization of kittens with other animals as playmates is important for their development. Therefore, CT Cat Connection has a policy that kittens and teenagers up to 12 months of age are adopted in pairs unless there is another animal in the household as a playmate and companion.Due to demand, we cannot place cats or kittens on hold. Your visit to the shelter is to meet any cat or kitten available for adoption at the time of visit. If you or anyone you know is interested in helping the shelter, we are always looking for foster families of our cats and dogs, as well as in-person volunteers, to assist with animal care. Story
Yeti is a very special girl. She is estimated to be 9 years old and was found matted and dirty, struggling to survive on the streets last winter. Luckily, one of our volunteers was able to catch her and Yeti has spent the last 11 months in a foster home readjusting to indoor life. She was very scared for the first few months but even then, she would purr if you sat down next to her crate. Now, she’s graduated into a loving house cat and is looking for a permanent home to live the rest of her life in comfort! To our delight, she has decided she loves being pet and purrs like a maniac! She does well with other cats but would do best with a cat that matches her energy (very chill). This sweet cat is ready to find a home of her own where she can be showered with all the love she deserves. This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home! Story
Milk Man is a handsome 10 1/2-year-old sweet boy who was abandoned, found in a carrier, and brought to us in 2022! His past few years have been tough for Milk Man as he hasn't been able to find his furever home. We expect Milk Man to thrive in a stable home environment where he will be the solo pet, in his own room where he can decompress and adjust to living outside of the crate on his timeline, and a patient adopter who can spend time hanging out with him - both playing and sitting companionably. He is ready to give and receive some love - are you? This cat is waiting for it's Forever Home!
