Story
(From my foster home)Are you looking for a unique and quirky little girl to be part of your family? Then Vicky (or "Victory") might be your kitten!Sweet little Vicky loves her mealtimes and playtimes! She tends to be slightly independent girl who can keep herself quite occupied at times with her cats toys or looking out the window. During her more snuggly moments, Vicky enjoys coming to lay near or against her person for a good nap. She also sometimes likes to be held for prolonged periods. Vicky sometimes gives kitty kisses by licking your hand or your face.Vicky really loves a good game of hunting wand toys that she can "catch". She has especially enjoyed wands with feathers on the end and a wand toy with a combo crinkle ball/feather. It's her favorite way to workout! Often after a good session, she then drags her catch to hide if for safe keeping under a bed or a couch, cutely growling to let everyone know it is HER catch and she is not sharing! But when she's ready for you to move the wand again she will let you know by mewing for your attention. When she gets excited - usually as you bring her a meal! - she likes to squeak and mew.Vicky is also a "unicorn" kitty in many physical ways. Her orange fur is a color more typically associated with male cats. She also has very unique little paws! She is a polydactyl kitty, meaning she has extra toes to love on her feet. She even has a little extra bone nubbin on the bottom of one back foot. One of her front paw nails is chronically extended as well and does not retract. So good to keep at least this one nail trimmed to avoid it getting snagged on things. She may also have some version of dwarf-ism on her front two legs making them both shorter than normal kitty limbs.Vicky has slightly wonky gait due to a suspected congenital issue. This manifests itself in two ways. First, when she walks she sometimes will have a little extra rolling sashay motion in her hip area à la Marilyn Monroe. Secondly, when she jumps up or down, it's often not a smooth process and she's prone to struggling a bit to get up or "splatting" on the way down. She also cannot seem to climb very high so tends to prefer the middle level of taller cat trees. Several vets have examined her including a neurologist. This condition is not believed to be progressive and should not degrade over time - what you see currently is what you get. However, the funny gait does limit her ability to jump up and down properly on a consistent basis. For this reason, it would not be safe for Vicky to be allowed outside since she could not always easily jump up and away if needed from danger. Anyone considering adopting her should be committed to please keeping her indoors-only for her safety. Primary Color: Orange Tabby Secondary Color: White Age: 1yrs 0mths 0wks

Story
***Wade is available for adoption in foster and is not currently at the Marin Humane location.*** Wade is an interesting guy! He is dashingly handsome, quite playful, and super social. He will play until he is panting tired (sometimes jumping off walls chasing his wand toy), and he makes quick work of his food and treat puzzles (handsome AND smart!). Wade loves to be around his people and greets us with leg rubs while enjoying a few pets. He's talkative and pretty darn cute, too, with his pink nose and toes (they turn extra pink when he's playing hard!). Wade is hard to resist when he's rolling around and being adorable, but he has limits on how much petting he wants. Because he can overstimulate, Wade is looking for a cat-experienced adult household that can read his signals. He may take some time to adjust in his new home, but give him time and lots of things to do and soon he'll be loving his new home and family! If you would like to learn more about Wade, please call Adoptions at (415) 506-6225. Primary Color: White Weight: 11.4 Age: 3yrs 7mths 0wks

Story
Bonnie's previous guardian wrote a letter about her: Bonnie is a sweet soul searching for her forever Home. Amidst the chorus of meows and purrs, lies a gentle spirit named Bonnie. This lovely lady, with her quiet demeanor and heartwarming presence, is on the lookout for a place to call home- a sanctuary where patience and love reign supreme. Bonnie is shy but loving. Initially timid, Bonnie warms up with time, preferring to be near you without necessarily being a lap cat or being picked up. She enjoys cuddles and purrs while being petted. Bonnie's zest for life sparkles in her fondness for treats- a surefire way to her heart. Her playful spirit is infectious, especially when she's engaging in wand toy play with you. It's this joyous play that beckons her out of her shell. She loves catnip and is comfortable being both indoors and outdoors. Bonnie is looking for a calm home and may do well with gentle older children. She would like to be the only four-legged friend in her new home. Bonnie is not just a cat, but a companion who will bring joy and affection into your life! Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Black Weight: 10.3 Age: 1yrs 9mths 2wks

Story
Jay Tee is a beautiful, mellow girl. She would love a peaceful home with all the comforts of life. As a shy kitty, Jay Tee may need a little time to warm up to new environments, but give her time and she will show you how sweet she truly is. She loves her ear rubs and is an avid biscuit maker. She came in as a stray off the streets and is still adjusting to the shelter, but every day she gains a bit more confidence. If you are looking for a gentle companion, Jay Tee may be your girl! Story
Jiji (also known as Ricky) is a slow starter, but once he feels secure and comfortable, he is very affectionate. Now that he has adjusted to the shelter, he greets us with purrs and head bunts. Jiji loves ear rubs, petting, and is an ardent biscuit maker. However, once you bring out the wand toy--it's all about the chase! He is very agile and has been described as a first class hunter of his mousey wand! Jiji was indoor/outdoor to an enclosed yard in his previous home and he is a one man show--he doesn't like other cats or dogs and needs to be the only pet in the house. This guy needs a home that is the epitome of zen, routine, and tranquility. Jiji is ready to find his perfect match, are you?! Primary Color: Black Weight: 11.7 Age: 2yrs 5mths 1wks

Story
Miss Peabody has got the beauty and the brains! She's learned how to use her voice and so far, prefers to keep a little bit of space and talk to you from a comfortable distance instead. She does have a penchant for a sparkly wand toy and perhaps some Churu treats, so it will be a matter of time before she closes that gap and ends up in your lap -- but only on her terms! We wouldn't recommend her with young kids. She will be a fun, active cat to love once she's comfortable and feels safe. She might be squirmy about handling at first when she's out and about, so we would recommend starting her out in one room to bond with her first and be indoor only.
