Story
Her name is Venus. She is a sweetheart but doesn't get along with my elder cat (he's a bully; it's not her fault!). Regrettably, my circumstances have changed, and I can no longer keep both pets. Venus has a friendly and peaceful personality. She is undersized, only 8 pounds, and spayed. She loves the outdoors. But she's currently an indoor cat. Please reach out if you want to take Venus and care for her how she deserves.

Story
BigMan Is now at Cat House on the Kings rescue. 7120 S. Kings River Rd, Parlier, CA 93648-9720 Please contact them at (559) 222-0228 Age: born February 11, 2013 Sex: Male, neutered Breed: Domestic Shorthair - Gray Tabby and White BigMan is a lovely cat with the most gentle personality. Mostly, he wants to get hugs and rubs and sit on laps. I think if I let him sit on my lap all day that's what he would do. He is a total charmer and even well-behaved at the vet. He has been to two vet appointments (the first to get his shots, etc.) and then to OakVet. Without exception, all the vet techs and the doctors who have met him have fallen in love with him. He is such a good, sweet boy, and even before I rescued him from living outside. As you can tell, I really care about him. BigMan has had a full dental, he has tested positive for FIV. He is currently healthy but is positive for the FIV antibody. It is hopeful than a loving home can be found for BigMan as an indoor cat. BigMan is up to date on vaccinations, is positive for FIV, Negative for Feline Leukemia, and is microchipped.

Story
Are you (or your cat) in search of a sweet, laid-back lounging partner? Vera is your girl!    Her idea of an excellent day involves hanging out in her cat bed, meals, and treats, of course! She also loves pets, and while she’ll entertain you with the occasional bout of zoomies, this mellow gal gets most of her exercise by walking to her food bowl. Give her a little pat while she’s eating her breakfast and she’ll be happy for the rest of the day!    Vera is a striking tuxedo cat with a black face and white lightning bolt, along with extravagant white whiskers. While Vera’s looks may be dramatic, she’s actually super easy going, and can even be shy in new situations. Vera may hide while she’s building her confidence, but she can be inspired to venture out with the promise of friendship from another cat. Her foster guardian says she’s great with other cats and might make a wonderful companion to another senior cat. Cuddle puddle, anyone?    Vera is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. If you are interested in setting up a meeting or have more questions, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form !   Best Match: Seeking an adopter with some cat experience Prefers a calm adult-only home, but may be okay with older kids and teens.  May prefer a home with other cat/s May 2, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Meet Blackberry, a sweet, shy cat who will warm your heart like a freshly baked muffin!   Despite her shyness, Blackberry is a very loving cat. As she’s gotten more confident in her foster home, Blackberry has learned to love head and ear scratches and will flop over on the floor to fully enjoy them, exposing her cute little belly. She’s cautious with new people at first, but her natural curiosity almost always wins over—especially if treats are involved! It may take her some time to adjust to a new home, so she needs a patient adopter who is willing to allow her time to get comfortable in a new space. Blackberry has excellent litter box habits and is a very good eater, though she can be demanding for food at times.   Blackberry is also very energetic and loves to bat around a fuzzy mouse toy on her own. She hasn’t gotten used to handheld wand toys and strings yet, and loud noises can cause her to startle. After playtime, she’ll curl up for a quality napping session nearby. She likes to sleep near where people are and will also often seek out a cozy spot to curl up near her foster, like at the edge of the bed or in the corner of the sofa. Close enough to keep an eye on things!   With some patience and love, Blackberry is sure to become your new best friend. If you’re looking for a cat who will fill your heart and your home with love like a slice of blackberry pie, Blackberry is the perfect choice. She’s simply irresistible!    Blackberry is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and tested negative for FIV and FeLV. If you’re interested in setting up a meeting with Blackberry, or have more questions, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form!   Best Match:  Seeking an adopter with some cat experience Could join a calm home with cat savvy older kids and teens Prefers a quiet home May 2, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Cutie Kichona is always ready to play. Get out the wand toys and she will entertain you by stalking, scrambling, and jumping after them. A toy mouse tossed down the hall will send her running and a bit of tissue paper provides loads of fun. If she pauses for a drink, you’ll be amused by the cute way she scoops the water from her bowl with a paw. Mid-game, she might roll on her back and give you a glimpse of her belly. Play is clearly the way to this shy cat’s heart.   When playtime is over, Kichona prefers to keep a bit of distance. She enjoys chin scratches, but is less enthusiastic about pets on her back. She may not be a lap cat yet, but she does like to be near her person. She has synced to her foster’s daily schedule and sleeps at the end of her bed. If you’re working from home, Kichona might hang out on your desk and ask for occasional pets. She’ll even meet you at the door when you come home.   Kichona approaches new people and situations with caution and may need some time to feel comfortable in a new home. Patience and plenty of playtime will be a winning combination as you get to know each other. Once you earn Kichona’s trust, you’ll have a sweet companion who brings plenty of fun into your life.   Kichona is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. Story
Sometimes what you really need is a classic cat. Esmerelda is old school - a gray tabby who loves playing with string, but disdains newfangled toys and entertainments. Hearkening back to the classic cats you may have grown up with, she'd prefer you look at but not touch her belly - an action she discourages without biting or scratching.    Generally very mellow, Esmerelda tends to get the zoomies after using her litter box. It is after these zoomies that she is most excited to play with her beloved string. Though she does have fun playing, Esmerelda has arthritis that requires medication, which she happily eats up when it's mixed in with her wet food or a tube of churu.   Esmerelda is an affectionate, loving kitty who enjoys telling you about her day and relaxing with afternoon lap naps. If no laps are available, she is very fond of being tucked under a blanket to dream the afternoon away.    Esmerelda is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. If you are interested in setting up a meeting or have more questions, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form at https://form.jotform.com/cattownoak/adoption-inquiries !   Best Match: Seeking an adopter with some cat experience Could join a calm home with older kids and teens Prefers to be the only cat Requires medication to stay happy and healthy May 2, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Ollivander and Pippin an adorable pair of bonded boys. These distinguished gentlemen are waiting patiently for their new home – is it with you? While they’re initially on the reserved side with new people, once you’ve befriended them, their sweet nature just shines through.   Despite being older cats, both Ollivander and Pippin are a playful duo. Ollivander, aka Ollie, prefers playing with toy mice and balls he can chase and is happy to entertain himself. Pippin also likes chasing after mice, but he also really enjoys leaping high in the air to bat at ribbon toys. He’ll keep you entertained with his acrobatics! Both boys seem to be night owls and like to go on late-night escapades where they eat and play after hours. Ollie has a nightly routine where he patrols the house and checks out every room to keep an eye on what’s going on.   As a bonded pair, Ollie and Pippin have a deep connection with each other and are close. They like to sleep near each other under the covers of a blanket or bed, and often they’ll groom each other. Occasionally they’ll have a little spat that quickly resolves once they give one another space if needed.   Ollie is the more outgoing of the pair and loves seeking out attention from his humans. He can still easily startle, so being in a calm home with a patient adopter will be ideal for him. He loves being pet and getting chin scritches! Pippin is also very sweet and friendly; it just takes a little more time and patience for him to get comfortable with people. He also tends to be very protective of Ollie and may get defensive if you pet Ollie while Pippin is right next to him. A great way to win Pippin’s trust is by offering treats. Both cats are very food motivated, which is convenient as Ollie takes a heart medication pill. It’s very easy to administer—he practically prefers his pill pocket treat more than his actual food!   Ollivander and Pippin are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV. If you are interested in setting up a meeting or have more questions, please complete our Adoption Inquiry form!   Best Match:   Seeking an adopter with cat experience Would do best in a quiet home, maybe cat savvy kids and teens Bonded Pair Ollivander needs medicine daily to stay happy and healthy Prefers a home without dogs May 2, 2024, 4:30 pm

Story
Meet Thunder:  a big tabby boy with an even bigger personality. Friendly, affectionate, and confident, this lovebug craves attention and wants to be up close and personal with his people. He is a major lap cat, and sleeps on his foster at night. His foster reports that he “sometimes sleeps in my arms with his paws wrapped around my neck and kisses my face.” (You may be getting the sense that Thunder isn’t much for personal space or boundaries.)   Thunder is a curious, intelligent cat who loves to explore and investigate. He eagerly approaches new people and makes a beeline for any item that catches his eye. He is intensely interested in the outside world and may try to sneak out every once in a while. He is also fascinated by laughing and crying, and will come in close to investigate and lick your face.    Thunder is looking for an easygoing, cat-savvy adopter in an adults-only home with no children, as he does like to let you know when he is done being pet or needs to play- so knowing to watch body language is key. He would do best in a home with other cats. He loves to surprise, pounce, and wrestle his cat buddies, so you’ll want to make sure the resident cat(s) would enjoy that kind of play. Thunder happily eats the special diet that keeps his stomach happy, chats away with people and cats alike, and loves a good snooze in a sunny window.   From his funny, loud meow that sounds like a cartoon character to his snoring and silly sleeping positions, Thunder’s big personality means that there will always be plenty of antics to keep you entertained.    Could you be the perfect match for this fun and funny guy? Thunder is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and positive for FIV.
