Story
McCovey is a handsome orange tabby with a motorboat purr who was born in September 2018. He has a sweet but vague disposition. McCovey has severe developmental delays; he has difficulty figuring things out and his long term memory is very poor. He will need a kind, understanding family able to accept him for who he is and willing to accommodate his needs. McCovey is a good eater who's favorite flavors are chicken and tuna. He loves treats and will even eat them out of your hand! He enjoys the company of other cats, and we would like him to have buddies in his forever home. He likes to spend most of his time sitting in his cat tree. McCovey loves pets, cuddles and brushing, as long as they're on his terms. McCovey gets lost easily, and is often anxious because everything seems new to him all the time. He can't remember or recognize people or other cats. McCovey has a special room because he doesn't understand doorways - if he goes through one, he forgets what they are and can't find his way back. As long as he's in his own special room, he has good self-care skills, but he can become aggressive when anxious and agitated. McCovey has made some very modest progress, but he has probably reached the ceiling of his abilities and is unlikely to improve any more. McCovey is a very unique cat, the only one to have this disability in our experience, as well as the experience of his vets and neurologist. Given his high level of needs, we're looking for a very patient, understanding and cat-experienced family that is willing and able to meet him where he is. In a perfect world, his forever family will have a passion for helping special needs cats, and already have a room or catio set up that can accommodate him plus some buddies for him to share it with. Due to his special needs, McCovey will be transitioning to his new home in a foster-to-adopt situation. He is FIV/FeLv negative, microchipped, neutered and current on his vaccines. Could you be the guardian angel he's been waiting for?

Story
Candy Corn and Cornelius aren't just matching tabbies, they are a perfectly matched pair and BFFs. Candy has a white streak along her nose and striking patterns in her fur, evoking images of clouds, waves, mountains, and dunes! Cornelius is smaller in size, with sandy colored tabby fur.  Candy Corn is super friendly and social, happy to get lots of chin scratches and make new friends. She is very inquisitive and enjoys high places, getting rides on your back, and a variety interactive toys and games. Cornelius can be a little shy with strangers compared to his bestie, but once he realizes he is with nurturing humans he comes out of his shell and adores attention and will jump just to rub your hand. They both love playing with you and each other. These two both love to be touched and they will snuggle with you at any opportunity. They enjoy munching on cat grass, looking for hidden treats, and clicker training sessions! They will do best in a home with older children and no dogs. Access to comfy places to sit with screened windows and fresh air makes them very happy. These two have been waiting a very long time for their forever home and we are waiting and hoping that they land their forever home soon. These two deserve the best and are ready to give their forever home so much. All of our cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, FeLV/FIV tested, FVRCP vaccinated, treated for fleas, dewormed and microchipped. If interested, please submit an application through our website. https://www.andreasdreamrescue.org/adoptionapplication Send us a message through our contact page with which cat you are interested in and we will be happy to set up a meet & greet! https://www.andreasdreamrescue.org/contact

Story
Meet Mia!  Mia is a long-haired beauty roughly 5 years young and mature beyond her years. Words of Encouragement: Mia is pretty independent but will cuddle when encouraged. She understands when she's being called for affection and loves being scratched behind her ears and under her chin, especially with a brush. She enjoys being groomed and will groom you back.  Napping is Crucial: Mia isn't needy and is quite laid back. She doesn't play much and loves to nap. Her favorite napping spots include a foldable picnic chair, a cardboard box, the welcome mat, and foster mom's laundry basket. She prefers cool floors and doesn't like sleeping on cat beds or warm objects like throw blankets. At night, Mia likes to sleep next to foster mom, usually on the pillow or nuzzled up on her chest. She moves around during the night, preferring short cuddle sessions before finding another spot to sleep. Purring Machine: While she's not very talkative, Mia will lightly meow or grunt when you talk to her, especially before breakfast. Her purrs vary and can sound like birds, a malfunctioning machine, or a motorcycle engine. Meeting New Human Friends: She's pretty social and indifferent when meeting new people. She'll hang around visitors but won't demand attention, often napping nearby. Mia will come up to visitors for a sniff and will usually go back to her napping spot.  Random Facts: Mia isn't a fan of her cat tree or windows. She prefers to stay low to the ground rather than birdwatch.  She gets the zoomies occasionally, usually after her morning bathroom break, and will zoom around if you pretend to chase her. Mia doesn't like being carried much and will jump out of your arms after a little fuss. Recently, she's gotten curious enough to open the coat closet door. Meal Time: Mia is free-fed because she paces herself with food. She gets wet food in the mornings and evenings and eats in increments over half an hour. Manners: Mia enjoys joining foster mom at the dinner table or laying on her lap during meals, she will sit on the chair across foster mom. She doesn't beg or jump on counters, making her a polite roommate. Mia will jump on the couch and bed usually when encouraged to do so.  Why Mia is Special: Mia doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Mia is the sweetest girl with a gentle soul. She will make an exceptional addition to anyone's life, brightening your days and melting away any worries. Mia is irreplaceable and one of a kind.  Are you interested in a mature cat who won't cause you any additional stress in your life? Submit an application today!
