Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Visiting Room:2 When Banjo first arrived at OAS, this handsome boy was overwhelmed by the shelter environment. He stayed in the back of his cage and, although easy to pet, showed little reaction. Now, after several weeks and lots of gentle socialization, he is slowly coming out of his shell. With pets, he relaxes, closes his eyes, and leans into your hand. He'll lick liquid treats from your finger and comes forward for wet food. Banjo needs an adopter with a quiet home—someone patient, experienced with cats, and ready to help this sweet boy blossom into a warm and affectionate companion.   Note:  This cat is under-socialized and will do best in a calm home with a patient, cat-experienced guardian who can give them the time and space they need to settle in and build trust. A quiet environment is essential, as busy households or homes with young children will feel overwhelming for them. They have lived with other cats before (some of whom are also at OAS) and would thrive being adopted with one of their feline friends or joining a home with a gentle, resident cat. Story
Gorgeous is a little heartbreaking panther. He's a boneless noodle-adjacent muffin making machine who will not be contained. He's chewed through his playpen a couple of times, earning himself a stay in a metal cage for now. He's clever, persistent, and ridiculously cute. He knows how cute he is and uses his advantage. He loves attention, he hates to be left alone. He would do well to be adopted with a sibling or by an attentive person. There are 5 kitties we are working to rescue in our neighborhood. We chose not to send them to a shelter so that we could be sure they got the attention they needed for socializing and weren't euthanized. Our neighbors are helping, providing stuff and support. They're doing well, but are still getting used to people and new things. Because of their outdoor beginnings, we believe they'll revert and disappear if let back outside. See listings for Emily, Scout, and Callie also. thank you!

Story
Emily is the sweetest little bunny-soft baby girl. She loves attention, but too much at once and she might give a little love bite. Not hard, but as we have been working on socializing, she's overdone it on belly rubs just a little. She's a remarkable, sweet, bunny-soft little thing. She might be an underneath girl, has been sleeping below her kitty bed all toasty instead of on top. There are 5 kitties we are working to rescue in our neighborhood. Story
Scout, with his handsome creamsicle face is a smart guy who was more skittish to start, but he's learning that petting is not so bad. He's got a little elevator butt, and even though he's upset at being in custody, he hasn't been mad at people, just his circumstances. ith some stability he will blossom into a complete love bug like his siblings. Story
ACAMPO, CA (near Lodi): Hello! My name is Spot. It’s because I’ve got these cool black spots mixed in with my white coat. Very stylish, don’t you think? Well, I’m a stylish dude. Not only are my tuxedo markings always in fashion but I make all sorts of cute noises when I play—little meows and other squawks  https://youtu.be/Hj3q7TGMioE I really love to play with other kitties, but I would also be fine as a single kitty. I can be shy when I first meet people, but with a little patience and maybe a treat (I am particularly fond of Temptations treats) I will warm up. Once I’m comfortable with you, I will come right over with my tail in the air for some head rubs and scratches. I was born in August 2019. I have been neutered, microchipped, tested negative for FIV/FELV and am up to date on all my shots. I am living in a private foster home so if you would like more information, please text or call Karen at 209-329-2001 and she can tell you all about me. You can fill out an adoption application online at https://forms.gle/obNDXM5Q4SbNNDH67 and once you are approved, we can meet!  December 24, 2025, 10:10 pm

Story
This sweet little girl was found yesterday crying under the hood of a car and has been nothing but loving since being rescued. She’s around 2–3 months old, super playful, cuddly, and loves attention. She’s already using the litter box perfectly and eating just fine, so she’s adjusting great to indoor life. I would absolutely keep her if I could, but I can’t financially support a third cat. There’s a small $30 rehoming fee just to help cover the kitten food, litter and litter box I purchased (and I’ll send those supplies with her), but if that’s a barrier for the right home, it’s not required. She deserves a safe, loving forever home.

Story
Best Match Seeking an adopter with moderate experience Familiarity with the breed is a plus Could join a home with savvy, calm teens Needs to be indoor only&#226&#128&#139 Raja is a Bengal with a big personality and a sensitive side. He is still learning to trust people, but his passion for wand toy play (along with his love of treats) are helping him come out of his shell. When the toys come out, Raja shows off his athletic Bengal energy and playfulness. Raja is bonded to his younger buddy, Cooper. Cooper is everything Raja needs in a friend: outgoing, social, and a true lap cat. He sets a good example for Raja, showing him that people can be safe and loving, while also giving him a playmate to burn off energy.  They are a dynamic duo who balance each other beautifully and are looking for kind, patient guardians who will continue to their socialization- and give them lots of fun things to do! Raja is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FeLV and FIV.
