Story
Juniper is a little under 2 years old , about 9# and currently lives with 2 male dogs and 2 male cats, one of which is a kitten. She is super soft and likes to get short petting sessions, but does not like to be held. She was adopted as an emotional support cat and loved at the dorms at UCM for a year. I have since moved home. Unfortunately she does not get along with one of the cats. We are currently confine either her or the cat that she does not get along with to a room for a few hours while the other is allowed to free roam and socialize. We rotate them in 2-8 hours blocks. I believe she would do best in an only cat household but would be fine living with dogs. Again, she currently lives with 2 dogs and has hosted Multiple foster dogs with no issues. She is up to date on shots and microchipped. If

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Teri (terik@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. About T.A.R.A. | Adopt | Volunteer | Donate Shadow is a sweet cat looking for his forever home after being abandoned by his previous owner. Shadow is a friendly, outgoing 8 year old male. He is shy at first, but once he trusts you he will warm up to you. He enjoys rubbing his chin on his fosters hand for affection.  He will probably do best as an only cat. Shadow is a diabetic kitty. Shadow is currently with a foster family, and they are doing a great job keeping  his diabetes under control by closely monitoring his diet, blood sugar and insulin levels daily. Shadow will need this daily care to keep him healthy and stable so he can enjoy many more years. The foster family can give you all the details needed to care for this sweet guy! Adoption Fee: $75 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV Combo test, and deworming. A two-week trial is included as part of the adoption. Because we do not know the background of many of our cats, we cannot guarantee exact age or breed. Adoption centers may not have a volunteer present to open the cat enclosures, and we have foster homes located throughout the KC metro area. Please fill out an application if you'd like to meet this cat. Interested in this pet? Please fill out a non-binding application. Our goal is to find life-long matches between animals and families, and the application provides us with a lot of information to help us help you find that match!  May 28, 2024, 10:30 am

Story
When Pancake first arrived he hadn't had much human interaction. He went to a foster home where he could learn love and compassion. Through foster we have learned that Pancake prefers his human interactions on his own terms and really enjoys his alone time. Due to this we think Pancake would be best suited for a barn home. Your barn cat will need to acclimate to their barn in a safe enclosed space (a crate, safe area of the barn) with litter, a hidey box, and fresh food and water for 2-4 weeks. This allows them to get used to their environment and feel safe. Consider your kitty's schedule. Since barn cats can roam, you'll want to feed them at the same time every day to help account for their well-being. Think about building or buying your cat a safe space for rest and shelter in hot/cold weather. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, Heartworm tested, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Story
Margaux would thrive in a home with other feline friends. She came into the shelter nervous but quickly made friends with Bert & Ernie. Upon making friends she started to gain confidence and come out of her shell. She loves to explore the cat room with her friends and then curl up for a nap. Story
Hi there! Meet Felix, a stray that found his way to me about 8 months ago. Felix is a very affectionate, playful, curious young adult cat. He has one older cat brother and a younger cat brother, and he gets along with them very well. His favorite things to do are to gaze at creatures out the window, play with his brothers, and snuggle on my chest. He needs a good snuggle every day. Felix is about 11 months old. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines, and has had regular vet care. (I will provide vet records.) He is indoor only right now. My cousin found Felix as a kitten and he followed her home, but they could not keep him because of allergies. I agreed to take care of him until we could find him a new home. I have been caring for him like he is one of my own, but the plan has always been to find him a new home, as I have too many cats in my small place. He has never been around dogs or children, but I think with time and patience he could be fine with either.
