Story
This sweet cat is semi-feral has been with ABF for an extended period.  While some progress has been made, there is still wariness of human contact and he will tend to avoid interaction.  This cat has never been exposed to outdoor elements or hunting, so would not be suitable as a barn cat. He is used to living in an air conditioned and heated building with other cats in a very clean room that has lots of windows and is excellent at using the litter box. We would love for him to have a home of his own where he could continue to thrive.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Teri (terik@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. About T.A.R.A. | Adopt | Volunteer | Donate Shadow is a sweet cat looking for his forever home after being abandoned by his previous owner. Shadow is a friendly, outgoing 8 year old male. He is shy at first, but once he trusts you he will warm up to you. He enjoys rubbing his chin on his fosters hand for affection.  He will probably do best as an only cat. Shadow is a diabetic kitty. Shadow is currently with a foster family, and they are doing a great job keeping  his diabetes under control by closely monitoring his diet, blood sugar and insulin levels daily. Shadow will need this daily care to keep him healthy and stable so he can enjoy many more years. The foster family can give you all the details needed to care for this sweet guy! Adoption Fee: $75 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV Combo test, and deworming. A two-week trial is included as part of the adoption. Because we do not know the background of many of our cats, we cannot guarantee exact age or breed. Adoption centers may not have a volunteer present to open the cat enclosures, and we have foster homes located throughout the KC metro area. Please fill out an application if you'd like to meet this cat. Interested in this pet? Please fill out a non-binding application. Our goal is to find life-long matches between animals and families, and the application provides us with a lot of information to help us help you find that match!  July 26, 2024, 2:39 pm

Story
Margaux would thrive in a home with other feline friends. She came into the shelter nervous but quickly made friends with Bert & Ernie. Upon making friends she started to gain confidence and come out of her shell. She loves to explore the cat room with her friends and then curl up for a nap. Midwest Animal ResQ offers a 30-day adjustment period within which you can evaluate the pet's progress and your adoption decision. If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! Adoption fees on our adult cats is $50, and for kittens the fee is $100. All cats must leave in a secure carrier. If you don't have one, we have cardboard carriers for sale for $10. All cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations and preventions prior to adoption. Our shelter is located at 10312 East 63rd Street in Raytown, MO. We are open to meet pets Tuesday through Friday from 10-6, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. We are closed on Mondays.

Story
Bob is so much fun! He's only three years old and weighs about nine pounds. His fur is silky soft and he loves to be petted. He's very loving and very playful. Bob's earned the nickname "Bob the Terminator" because of how avid and energetic his play is; his passion is electronic games that he can carry around and disassemble! Bob is selective about his feline friends. He gets along famously with some cats but can be a bully to others. A slow, appropriate introduction will help ensure Bob and your resident kitties get along. With Bob, you'll never be alone as he is always interested in what you're doing and loves to be involved. Doing a little work at the computer? Bob will help! Cleaning the house? Bob will supervise! When Bob was a kitten he had a severe upper respiratory infection and had to have one of his eyes removed. They were able to save the other eye to keep his eyesight. That eye is sensitive and Bob will need your help taking care of it with warm washcloths and eye drops. Bob is cooperative, though, so providing care to him is not difficult. With his black mask, you can hardly tell he's missing an eye. And by his behavior, you surely would never know! Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information on Bob! He's in the KC metro, but transport might be available to the right home. #thepetconnection #adoptdontshop

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Jolly and Tao, these 2 brothers were put in a box and left at the curb with an elderly woman’s trash for pickup one day. The woman noticed and called a neighbor for help. They were posted on Craigslist for help!  I responded and got them the vet care they needed. They were two very frightened little kitty’s. Jolly was the braver one and learned to trust me first, and eventually Tao too. These two are a bonded pair and are brave as long as they have each other.     They are about 8 to 9 months old now and very happy boys. They have been fully vetted. They eat a variety of canned kitten food, frozen and freeze dried raw and some dry kibble and they love their canned and raw food! They have been a bit spoiled which by all accounts they deserve. Because they are bonded they must be adopted together.   Jolly is the tabby/white cat and Tao is the flame point.    The animal listed on this page was listed as a courtesy to help find the animal a home.
