You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Teri (terik@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. About T.A.R.A. | Adopt | Volunteer | Donate Shadow is a sweet cat looking for his forever home after being abandoned by his previous owner. Shadow is a friendly, outgoing 8 year old male. He is shy at first, but once he trusts you he will warm up to you. He enjoys rubbing his chin on his fosters hand for affection.  He will probably do best as an only cat. Shadow is a diabetic kitty. Shadow is currently with a foster family, and they are doing a great job keeping  his diabetes under control by closely monitoring his diet, blood sugar and insulin levels daily. Shadow will need this daily care to keep him healthy and stable so he can enjoy many more years. The foster family can give you all the details needed to care for this sweet guy! Adoption Fee: $75 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV Combo test, and deworming. A two-week trial is included as part of the adoption. Because we do not know the background of many of our cats, we cannot guarantee exact age or breed. Adoption centers may not have a volunteer present to open the cat enclosures, and we have foster homes located throughout the KC metro area. Please fill out an application if you'd like to meet this cat. Interested in this pet? Please fill out a non-binding application. Our goal is to find life-long matches between animals and families, and the application provides us with a lot of information to help us help you find that match!  April 28, 2024, 12:16 am

Story
Look at her beautiful little face! Sophia's family lost their home, so they had to move in with relatives. Unfortunately, the resident senior cat doesn't like Sophia and Sophia now lives alone in the basement. This gorgeous dilute tortie was raised as a bottle baby in a home with kids and she absolutely adores them. The kids she grew up with try to spend time with her in the basement, but it's just not the same. She's sad, lonely, and misses human companionship. Sophia enjoys playing with toys, especially her feather wand, but that toy requires a human to play with her. She would love a home where she could be a lap kitty and watch you work on your computer, maybe even supervise a little. Sophia is a very good supervisor! Sophia has no known health issues and has always been an inside kitty. Please call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more info on this sweet girl. Sophia is in the KC metro, but transportation is available to the right home. #thepetconnection

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Khabibi and Berti are four-year-old female tortoiseshell sisters. These lovable and sweet kitties are bonded and need to be adopted together. Both are spayed, microchipped, in good health, and are up-to-date on shots. Khabibi definitely has a TON of personality and is the dominant one.  Super smart, playful, talkative, adventurous, loves to be petted and talked too.  Bertie is more reserved, but super sweet/cuddly and also loves to play and be talked to.  They also love each other very much, and often sleep/eat/play together.    They recently lost their beloved owner and need a loving forever home. Vizzy is available for adoption at our Petco Cat Habitat at 136th and Stateline! Our partnership with the Petco Foundation allows KCPP adoptables to live inside the store until they find forever homes. KCPP cats inside the habitats receive the same vetting and adoption benefits as cats adopted from our shelter. If you're interested in meeting Vizzy, a Petco associate will assist you inside the store! Questions about Vizzy may be directed to staff via email: danielle.jones@kcpetproject.orgDid you know that two kittens are better than one? It's true! When kittens are raised together - they play together, they sleep together, and they look out for each other. This makes taking care of them easier for you! Please consider taking home two kittens instead of just one. You'll be glad you did!Adopters every day seek our help with behaviors consistent with kittens growing up solo. We aren't trying to "get rid" of more kittens. We just want them to have a healthy development. If you have no other cats at home, adopting two kittens is the best plan! Or prepare yourself for the possibility of your solo kitten developing one or more of these behaviors: destructiveness, excessive meowing, keeping you up at night, general anxiety, litter box issues, attacking/aggression.
