You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Teri (terik@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. About T.A.R.A. | Adopt | Volunteer | Donate Shadow is a sweet cat looking for his forever home after being abandoned by his previous owner. Shadow is a friendly, outgoing 8 year old male. He is shy at first, but once he trusts you he will warm up to you. He enjoys rubbing his chin on his fosters hand for affection.  He will probably do best as an only cat. Shadow is a diabetic kitty. Shadow is currently with a foster family, and they are doing a great job keeping  his diabetes under control by closely monitoring his diet, blood sugar and insulin levels daily. Shadow will need this daily care to keep him healthy and stable so he can enjoy many more years. The foster family can give you all the details needed to care for this sweet guy! Adoption Fee: $75 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, microchip, FIV/FeLV Combo test, and deworming. A two-week trial is included as part of the adoption. Because we do not know the background of many of our cats, we cannot guarantee exact age or breed. Adoption centers may not have a volunteer present to open the cat enclosures, and we have foster homes located throughout the KC metro area. Please fill out an application if you'd like to meet this cat. Interested in this pet? Please fill out a non-binding application. Our goal is to find life-long matches between animals and families, and the application provides us with a lot of information to help us help you find that match!  June 16, 2024, 2:34 pm

If, within those 30 days, you determine your recently adopted pet isn't a good fit, you may return the animal and receive a MARQ credit that can be used toward the adoption of another animal. Our biggest priority is finding the very best match for you, and Completing Families one Tail at a Time! Adoption fees on our adult cats is $50, and for kittens the fee is $100. All cats must leave in a secure carrier. If you don't have one, we have cardboard carriers for sale for $10. Story
Mint Julep is a darling little cat. She was a bit overwhelmed by the loud shelter, so she has been relaxing in a foster home with us. Mint loves other cats but would do best in a dog-free home. She is litter box trained and a quiet, easy going cat overall. It will take time before she really shows herself in her new home but when she does it is so worth it. She is so sweet and just wants to be near her person. Apply to meet her today! Story
Bob is a sweet boy and a fun, fun cat. He's a young lad of three and weighs about nine pounds. His fur is silky soft and he loves to be petted. He's very loving and very playful. Bob's earned the nickname "Bob the Terminator" because of how avid and energetic his play is; his passion is electronic games that he can carry around and disassemble! Bob is selective about his feline friends. He gets along famously with some cats but can be a bully to others. A slow, appropriate introduction will help ensure Bob and your resident kitties get along. With Bob, you'll never be alone as he is always interested in what you're doing and loves to be involved. Doing a little work at the computer? Bob will help! Cleaning the house? Bob will supervise! When Bob was a kitten he had a severe upper respiratory infection and had to have one of his eyes removed. They were able to save the other eye to keep his eyesight. That eye is sensitive and Bob will need your help taking care of it with warm washcloths and eye drops. Bob is cooperative, though, so providing care to him is not difficult. With his black mask, you can hardly tell he's missing an eye. And by his behavior, you surely would never know! Call or text The Pet Connection at 913-671-7387 for more information on Bob! He's in the KC metro, but transport might be available to the right home. #thepetconnection #adoptdontshop

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Jolly and Tao, these 2 brothers were put in a box and left at the curb with an elderly woman’s trash for pickup one day. The woman noticed and called a neighbor for help. They were posted on Craigslist for help!  I responded and got them the vet care they needed. They were two very frightened little kitty’s. Jolly was the braver one and learned to trust me first, and eventually Tao too. These two are a bonded pair and are brave as long as they have each other.     They are about 8 to 9 months old now and very happy boys. They have been fully vetted. They eat a variety of canned kitten food, frozen and freeze dried raw and some dry kibble and they love their canned and raw food! They have been a bit spoiled which by all accounts they deserve. Because they are bonded they must be adopted together.   Jolly is the tabby/white cat and Tao is the flame point.    The animal listed on this page was listed as a courtesy to help find the animal a home. Story
My name is Tink, and I will also accept Your Majesty! My love must be earned but I am worth the wait. I lived with one person from the time I was a kitten for eight years until this past August. It's been frightening to lose my home, so I need a lot of patience. I will be very happy in a quiet home, ideally one where everyone else has only two legs. Once I get comfortable with you, I will spend a lot of time in your company. I particularly enjoy lying in a friendly lap, or napping in sunbeam, but every now and then I get an energy burst and have fun chasing a ball or a catnip mouse around the house. After you've gained my trust, I will show you my secret heart. Won't you come meet me soon?Purrs,TinkTink is living in a foster home. Story
BBs is still gettting used to his new (temporary) digs in the KC Pet Project Cat Habitats. So he is a bit shy at the moment. Yet he comes out to the main condo area to look around and to get petted. He doesn't love it when there is a lot of noisy activity. Once BBs is settled in his forever home, he will most likely feel more confident and relaxed. Come in to meet this sweet boy today. He's ready to go home with you!BBs is available for adoption at our Petco Cat Habitat in Liberty! Our partnership with the Petco Foundation allows KCPP adoptables to live inside the store until they find a forever home. KCPP cats inside the habitats receive the same vetting and adoption benefits as cats adopted from our shelter. If you're interested in meeting BBs, a Petco associate will assist you inside the store! Did you know that two kittens are better than one? It's true! When kittens are raised together - they play together, they sleep together, and they look out for each other. This makes taking care of them easier for you! Please consider taking home two kittens instead of just one. You'll be glad you did!Adopters every day seek our help with behaviors consistent with kittens growing up solo. We aren't trying to "get rid" of more kittens. We just want them to have a healthy development. If you have no other cats at home, adopting two kittens is the best plan! Or prepare yourself for the possibility of your solo kitten developing one or more of these behaviors: destructiveness, excessive meowing, keeping you up at night, general anxiety, litter box issues, attacking/aggression.

Hi, my name is Rose! I am a very sweet lady who loves to cuddle up on laps and get all the attention. I do get stressed out in some situations, so I would probably do best in a home with no other animals and no young kids! If you are interested in meeting me, come visit me at the KCPP Adoption Center at the Petco in Overland Park at 95th & Quivira! I look forward to meeting you!
