Story
Lee is the kind of cat who always has to be around people, but doesn't want you to know that he needs it. He's a special little chonker who loves food and a good nap. He also is particularly fond of falling asleep on freshly cleaned laundry and sitting on chair arm rests. I am moving in with my girlfriend who has a cat with FIV, and taking Lee with me is not an option, for many other situation reasons, but one of the main reasons being it wouldn't be a healthy option for Lee to be exposed to FIV, and hence I need to rehome him. If you wan't a fluffy chonky companion for your home, consider Lee boy.

Story
Hi! My name is Queso and my mommy is trying to find somewhere I can call home! One thing about me is that I am super friendly! I don't get scared around new people, nor do I hiss or scratch! Instead, I attempt to always jump on your lap to receive hugs. I love to be held and my favorite past time is cuddling up next to my owner and taking naps! In addition to being super loving, I am also playful with people and pets! My mommy says that if you adopt me, she will give you ALL of my favorite toys and even my cat bed. But if you want to buy me new presents, I won't be opposed. :) I will be separating from my mommy AND my little sister, therefore this may be a tough transition for me. So I hope to be with a new family that will welcome me and give me all the love, attention, and treats necessary to make me feel right at home! My mom may be worried, but I adapt quickly to my environment! So if you 'd like a furry companion in your space, don't hesitate to adopt me!

Story
Sophie has been with us since she was a kitten. She is now a spry 14-year-old. Sophie is very independent and entertains herself most of the time (she gets bored with toys but does like to chase the laser from time to time). Sophie greets me at the door every time I come home from work. While it's probably because she knows she'll be fed, it's also because she misses both me and my husband when we're not there. Sophie likes to sleep in the crook of my back when we go to bed, but she'll only stay there until she's bored and wants to do something else. Sophie is not declawed, so her new owners will need to know how to cut a cat's front claws, especially because Sophie can reach out as I or my husband pass by her and a claw can embed in a shirt or skin. It's with affection she's doing that, not aggression, but I want to be sure the adopter knows of that habit once she gets to know you. She has no problems with her cat box and never goes outside of it. Change litter once a week.

Story
Izzy is approximately 17 years old. She was a stray that we took in when my son was about 4 years old. My son is now out on his own and unable to have a pet where he lives. I travel for work during the week and have a busy weekend schedule. She is a mellow cat that only meows when she is out of food or water. She is use to dogs and small children as I have grandkids. I would not say she loves their attention but she has never been mean or aggressive towards my grandkids. Her front feet are declawed. She is strictly an indoor cat but enjoys hanging out on my screened in patio. I have an automatic feeder that will go with her as well as her litter box if interested. I have not kept up with her shots as she is never outdoors.

Story
Taylor and Stevie are a bonded pair of female domestic short hair ~1 year old cats that we adopted last September. Since we adopted them, Taylor has not been using the litter box consistently. A special diet has helped, and while she does use it about 50% of the time, she still leaves “treasures” on the floor to clean up. We have tried several different methods to promote litter box use (multiple boxes, different types of litter, products to entice litter box use, etc.) along with countless vet visits resulting in medications (nothing long term) and ultrasounds. Besides Taylor’s bowel issue, they are perfect cats. They are sisters who were under two pounds when they were found at the shelter and in our home they have grown to be pre-teen kitties with big personalities! They love to cuddle and nap together and play fetch with toy mice. We know there is a loving individual or family who will be able to better support Taylor and give them both an amazing forever home!

Story
Vizzy is available for adoption at our Petco Cat Habitat at 136th and Stateline! Our partnership with the Petco Foundation allows KCPP adoptables to live inside the store until they find forever homes. KCPP cats inside the habitats receive the same vetting and adoption benefits as cats adopted from our shelter. If you're interested in meeting Vizzy, a Petco associate will assist you inside the store! Questions about Vizzy may be directed to staff via email: danielle.jones@kcpetproject.orgDid you know that two kittens are better than one? It's true! When kittens are raised together - they play together, they sleep together, and they look out for each other. This makes taking care of them easier for you! Please consider taking home two kittens instead of just one. You'll be glad you did!Adopters every day seek our help with behaviors consistent with kittens growing up solo. We aren't trying to "get rid" of more kittens. We just want them to have a healthy development. If you have no other cats at home, adopting two kittens is the best plan! Or prepare yourself for the possibility of your solo kitten developing one or more of these behaviors: destructiveness, excessive meowing, keeping you up at night, general anxiety, litter box issues, attacking/aggression.

Jem and her sister, Scout, had a rough start in life and because of this they are both very hesitant on trusting new people, but don't worry they are not above taking bribes! Give Jem a couple churu treats and she will be your new best friend! Jem is a playful, spunky kitten, once she warms up to you! She loves to play with all types of toys, but little crinkle balls are her absolute favorite! She loves to use her cat scratchers and cuddle up on a nice warm kitty bed after a hard day of play! Because Jem is hesitant with new people, she would do best in a home with another friendly cat to show her that humans are alright! Whenever Jem sees her foster cat siblings. she starts purring and crying for their attention. She would love to find a home with another cat to love on! Jem is a little hesitant and scared of dogs, but does just fine if they stay out of her way and don't take her treats!

Story
Arwen is an independent gal who would love to have a kitty brother, or sister. While Arwen is not a lap cat, she shows her love and gratitude in other ways. Once you've earned her trust, which could take several months, she'll ask for pets and belly rubs. She loves to sit in the window and watch the birds and squirrels, and really enjoys the sun and gentle breezes. She also discovered the joy of sleeping in bed with her foster mom and all her cats. Arwen would do best in an adult-only home with a seasoned cat owner, or home with older children. She would thrive with another cat who would welcome all her cuddles (she loves other cats!). Arwen needs a very patient mom and/or dad who understands she'll need a lot of time to adjust. Take a chance on Arwen! She has a lot of love to give.

Hello, friends! Cookies and Cream here, still looking for my puurrfect family! I am a sweet little cutie, but I am still a bit shy. Don't let my quiet attitude keep you from meeting me, though. Once you bring out the laser toy, I turn into a feline superhero! I'm talking lightning-fast reflexes and acrobatic feats that would make any Olympian jealous Just ask my foster paw-rents! Cookies and Cream has been around other cats and would love a home where she would have a pal to play around with.

Story
Millie showed up the first day we moved into our new house in the country and refused to leave. That was 4.5 years ago. Because she was a country kitty first, we are not sure exactly how old she is, but assuming 5-6 years old. We live in the city now, but she is still used to being an indoor/outdoor cat. She is a sweetheart who loves cuddles but is not pushy about it. She is also very social around company. She lives with 2 of her kittens and does a great job taking care of them. She is good at coming when you call and is overall well-behaved. Millie is looking for someone who wants a friendly companion who will take great care of her and give her lots of scratches and brushes.

Story
Mountain was born 4 years ago in our closet and still lives with his mom and 1 of his sisters. He was named Mountain because he was the first one to conquer climbing over the box wall to leave the closet. But he has definitely lived up to the name with his size. He has lived half his life in the country and half in the city and is still used to being an indoor/outdoor cat. He loves a full body scratch and brushing and will be your best friend if you can provide that. He's a little skittish and skeptical, so it will warm your heart when you earn his trust and he'll use his big ol' head to demand you give him some love .

Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Phoebe is two and half years old. We originally got her from a shelter where she had recently given birth to kittens, and she was spayed shortly after. She has a skin condition called hyperesthesia which means she has very sensitive skin and she cannot/should not be touched below she shoulders, aside from her belly when she wants you to. She loves head scrubbies and will accept attention and love on the acceptable parts of her body. She is not very forthcoming with love, but when she attaches to you she will sit near you, nap on you, and make biscuits around you. She does not do well with other dogs, at least not ours, or cats, so she should be the only animal in the home. She is very active and loves her feather toy and string toys. She is on a specific metabolic food because of an issue with her weight, but it hasn’t been an issue for about a year. She is a really great cat but she is mean to our dog, and unfortunately we cannot get rid of the dog as she is individually owned.
