Story
Hello there! My name’s Penny, and I’m a 9-year old, 55 pound shepherd mix with a big heart, a silly streak, and a love for all things Colorado. I’ve had a wonderful life with my humans, but recently they brought home a tiny human who grew into a very wiggly, spinning, jumpy toddler. And, well… I’m not a fan of surprises that move on two legs. So I’m looking for a quieter home, one without tiny humans, where I can relax, feel safe and be your loyal adventure partner. A little about me: · Healthy, happy, and full of love · Great walker, excellent on trails · I adore hiking, camping, skiing and all the normal mountain fun · I do like kids – as long as they’re predictable, respectful, and old enough to understand my boundaries (probably 9+) · I’ve always lived with dogs, but would like to meet them first. If you’re looking for a loyal companion to explore life with – someone who will wag, cuddle, and trot happily beside you on every trail - I’m your girl!

This boy is so incredibly sweet! He was saved from a kill shelter in California at the last minute. He loves belly rubs, he is very well behaved. Very fast learner.you can't go wrong with this handsome boy. He actually has a bit of a stripped brindle coat. He does so well with other dogs, males and females! Very affectionate!

Adoption Fee: $475 When available, all animals are fixed in accordance with Colorado law, up to date on vaccines (may need boosters), and microchipped! What we know: Transferred from Animal Rescue Friends of Floydada in Clifton, TX. From the foster: 905 or Momma Ellie is 23 inches tall at the shoulder and a fit 77 pounds. She is full grown and potty trained. She can be a little destructive of soft and plush toys and absolutely LOVES fetch. Highly recommend the family gets an automatic ball thrower. No joke, she will play fetch in a living room for hours and is smart enough to drop a ball in the machine. Tennis balls are not durable enough for this girl. Her lack of command knowledge suggests she never had a reliable home to learn the basic commands. COME is the only command she reliably responds to yet. She is eager to learn though, she just hasn't been given the right structure yet. She hasn't tried to steal any food or toys from my dog. She does not like other dogs going after her thrown toy and she lets them know it. Momma Ellie needs a job with an active family willing to teach her the things she didn't learn as a puppy. If you want to skip the hard part of raising a puppy, come give Ellie a look. www.coloradopuppy.org/how-to-adopt
