Maple arrived as an unclaimed stray to a shelter in New Mexico with a missing toe and a degloved tail, but she handled all of her vet care like an absolute champ. Through it all, she has shown us exactly who she is: calm, gentle, well-mannered, and ridiculously easy to love. She’s quickly become a staff favorite and has earned herself an official A+ GOOD GIRL rating.
Maple loves people and does wonderfully with dogs of all different temperaments. She’s low energy and laid-back, walks great on leash, behaves beautifully in her kennel, and is already past the puppy “perhaps I shall eat your shoe” stage. She likes treats, but sometimes she’d rather play with them than actually eat them because apparently snacks are toys now. We don’t make the rules.
She even enjoyed our foam-day bubble party, but Maple isn’t looking to be the life of the party every day. She’s more of a “let’s take a nice walk, enjoy life, then go home and chill” kind of girl.
Now Colorado is calling! Maple is ready for mountain air, new adventures, cozy beds, and most importantly, a forever family to call her own.
They were rescued from a shelter in New Mexico.

Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by using the link in their approval email. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog.
If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded.
Adoption fees are non refundable once a pet is taken home.
Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets.
The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up in Colorado, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances delaying pick up.
Breed labels are a "best guess" by a shelter veterinarian and cannot be guaranteed.
