With his enthusiastic personality and endless love for playtime, Calloway is the perfect companion for an active household. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. AdoptaGSD.org   Please consider that some of these dogs have been abandoned or ignored by their previous owners, having little interaction with someone who cares about them. When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life. Hi, my name is Winnie, and I'm a beautiful three year old female Dutch Shepherd who was recently returned to FRGSR after I was left unsupervised for long periods of time, and I managed to get into mischief with the neighbors' dogs and chickens. Since returning to my former foster home, I've fallen back into my old routine of playing with the resident male Malinois, going for long walks and cuddling with my humans. While on walks, my foster mom and dad have not observed me to be inappropriate around other dogs or people. My breed is a working breed, and I need a strong leader who will provide me with clear boundaries and both daily mental and physical stimulation. I need to know what my job is and I would prefer to have an adopter who isn't gone all day. I'm crate trained and I walk beautifully on leash, but I also wouldn't mind being someone's running partner. In my foster home, I'm relaxed and friendly because I know they are my leaders and I focus on being a dog. I love to play in the snow with my foster brother! I can get a little possessive of my toys and my foster parents are working on this. If you feel you can meet my needs, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org. My adoption fee is $400.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, the animals you see may already be in an adoption process.   February 19, 2024, 2:10 pm

Story
"Zeus" is very sweet and loveable, very playful and energetic. He is about 67 lbs. and 19 months old. He is housebroken and really good with other dogs. He is not aggressive. Easy to walk on a leash. Other than that he just needs a little training. We recently adopted him but found our home is not suitable for him. We quickly found out that he needs a fenced yard to run and play in during the day which we do not have, or frequent walks. We do not have a lot of time to spend with him indoors or walk him frequently due to our busy schedules. We tried taking him to work with us, but he was too restless being confined. He's done extremely well at day care with other dogs. We do not know if he is good with children or cats since we have none -- the facility we adopted him from stated he is.

Story
Hello, my name is Duchess! I am a very sweet lady who is looking for a home to call my own. I can be kind of picky with other dogs so I would prefer to meet new furry family members before going home. I really enjoy my walks and think that hiking this summer sounds lovely. If you would like to come and get to know me better please give the shelter a call at 719-686-7707. I can't wait to meet you!

A1908471 JUDITH (HW NEG)  SPAYED - Dutch Shepherd Mix - 2 yr - 46 lbs  Volunteer notes - This lady was so calm in her kennel and very easy to leash and walk. She is genuinely one of the calmest and chillest dogs I’ve ever met at barc. She is super sweet and friendly. She met other dogs through the fence and was happy and wiggly. She seems like she’s one of those girls who can get along with anyone. She took treats gently and even sat pretty for me with her pointy ears. She did her business outside and walked with a nice loose leash back to her kennel. Zero reaction to the barking dogs down the kennel run Meet Judith - https://youtu.be/gFujIb6hRwE  Judith in her kennel - https://youtu.be/t2DGreWiNOQ  Judith knows sit - https://youtu.be/vy8cUxEMQts  Judith meeting another pup - https://youtu.be/YYoBtvxiAk4  Apply online at www.lolasrecue.com ##1889830##

Story
Meet Dixie! Dixie is a 4 year old dutch shepherd looking for her new home.  She may be small but she is the most loyal dog you will ever meet. She will jump in front of any danger her person faces and try to scare it away. She has a lot of energy but knows when it is time to be calm.   She knows when you are having bad days and will do her best to make them better. She has some weird commands and quirks but thats what makes her a great dog. She can be very serious at times but can be the goofiest dog the next.   She loves to cuddle and she will try to keep you in bed all day rather than go to work. She is super intelligent and picks up training very well! February 20, 2024, 4:10 pm
