Hi, Im Juke, and if youve got a job for me, I would love to hear about it. Im an extremely handler-focused boy who absolutely thrives on learning, working, and having something productive to do. Training? Amazing. Learning new skills? Even better. Spending time with my person while using my brain? Pretty much my dream. Im the kind of dog who wants partnershipnot just a home, but a teammate. Because of that, Id do best with someone experienced with shepherds or other working breeds who understands what dogs like me need to thrive. I love playing fetch with my people, and Ill need both mental and physical outlets to keep me happy and fulfilled. Cats and young kids arent a fit for me, and I do best with select dog friends. But for the right personthe kind who loves structure, training, and building a real bond with their dogIm going to be an absolutely incredible partner. We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! I hate to re-home my Dutch shepherd, but she became food aggressive with my other shepherd after being fed next each other for 6 years. She has been around my son for 6 years, since he was 6 and is always good with him. She is also very good with me. Could use more exercise, so if you're a runner she would make a great running partner. Fantastic guard dog. If you don't know Dutchies, they are more healthy than the Germans, and live 12-16 years. She does really well learning new commands and I don't think I am giving her enough training these days. Has some good drive but also loves to sit on the couch. I've never had her around cats, but she has been great with other dogs until this point. She is the alpha at my 3 dog house. Travels well in my truck, albeit it a little noisy. I've taken her to the dog park for years and she will walk away from fights so I'm not really sure why she got food aggressive this summer. Love her and need her to go to a good home.

Hi, I'm JoJo! I'm a 2 year old Dutch Shepherd mix. I'm as loveable as can be and am such a good boy! I get along great with other dogs, walk okay on a leash, and am even potty-trained. I need a home without cats though as I like to chase them. I'm in a foster home and patiently waiting for my chance at a forever home.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2684105##
