Story
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure  Jary finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).   Joyful to be given a second chance at life, sweet 7-year-old Jary is now thriving. The 55-pound beige and brindle beauty, so calm and so friendly, loves nothing more than chilling with her foster parents, cuddling and snuggling with them, resting her head on them, having her belly rubbed and her colorful coat gently brushed. Engaging eagerly and easily with her little doggy foster friends, Jary does, however, tend to steal their toys and hold them under her paw and “claim” their beds as her own! (Needless to say, the toys have been safely tucked away for awhile). Relaxed around her fosters’ three visiting adult sons recently, lying comfortably nearby, she especially enjoys going for walks, honing her leash skills along the way. Since these are still early days, Jary seems to know no commands, but being highly intelligent, eager to please and motivated by love, she should prove easy to teach. Doing best at the moment in an Alcatraz crate and almost fully house-trained, Jary will flourish in a loving home, preferably with another playful dog her size, and patient adopters who will complete her training, including her commands, and keep her mentally and physically satisfied fur-ever.   If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!  A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.  The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following: Spay/neuter Microchip DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.  Rabies vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog. Adopters shall be responsible for all vaccinations after adoption. Please fill out an adoption application by clicking  here . Please give us 48 hours to review your application and respond to you. (Remember to check your spam folder for our emails!) We want our pets to go to a lifelong new home, so thank you for your patience during the adoption process! Please email dogs@arrcolorado.org for more information, as we can't accept calls.PLEASE NOTE:  The breed listed is the information we've received from the shelter.  Shelters usually guess at the breed, so there is no guarantee, as we don't DNA test our foster pets.  Here is some interesting info on breed identification:  https://arrcolorado.org/category/puppy-dog-tips/ Our adoption process is: 1. Fill out our Adoption Application online.  We'll contact you within 48 hours to answer any questions you may have about the pet. 2. If the pet looks like a great match, we'll schedule a meet and greet and ask you to fill out our online Adoption Agreement if you'd like to proceed with adopting.  Once you've completed the Adoption Agreement and pay the pet's Adoption Fee, you can arrange to pick up your new furry family member! Story
Hi there, I`m Jiffy! I`m a real sweetheart, always ready for a cuddle. My favorite time of day is playtime, where I get to show off my tricks. I can sit for a treat. I also love to play fetch! I hop like a bunny, and will drop it for a treat. I will basically do anything for a treat. So reward based training is right up my alley! But I`m not all about fun and games. I love quiet moments too, when I can curl up next to you and enjoy a good nap. So, why not make room in your heart and home for a dog like me? I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and lots of tail wags.

Story
MAX would make the most amazing ESA for a children's hospital or a senior living home! MEET MAX THE PERFECT ONE! He is a 6-year-old Dutch Shepard mix with beautiful bright dreamy eyes who thinks he’s human and loves everyone that he meets. His sister and her puppies were pulled from the shelter, and he was left behind for two years and became the house pet of the shelter, and everyone adored him, but it is time for him to find a new home. He has a gentle and kind soul. Spent time with a 87 year old mother and was very calm and respectful. He doesn’t need another doggy to be happy but acclimates if there was another doggy. He doesn’t need an active family just a family that wants a doggy to love. He thinks he’s 10 lbs. but weighs 60 lbs. He extremely friendly to other dogs and loves children. He walks perfect on a leash and loves to talk long walks and does not pull responds well to directions. His foster family loves him dearly and would love the opportunity to share more stories about MAX! Once adopted she will travel via private transport Rescue Vet (transport cost is $185.00) to a location closest to you. If you would like to make this wonderful girl part of your family, please follow the link below to our application. https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/BCAR/Dog

Story
Happy is one of those types of dogs that continues to view life as the glass half full. This pup joined MHCR a couple months ago at around 6-7 months of age. She found herself on death row in Texas at a high intake/high kill shelter. Once Happy got settled into foster care, it became very apparent she had sustained quite a bit of trauma in her life prior to rescue. Happy sustained a traumatic injury to her back leg as a young pup that had fully healed before she got to us. This injury possibly involved the growth plate, which has resulted in the leg being a little bit shorter than her other leg. Luckily, the orthopedic surgeons she has seen feel she is just about fully grown so this leg shouldn’t pose too large of a problem. After she had settled in for a couple of weeks, we noticed she was painful and limping on her front legs. More work up revealed she had a fractured coronoid process. What the heck is that? It’s a tiny little piece of the elbow. Happy had surgery for this and she’s recovering beautifully! Happy has many shepherd-like characteristics and the brindle in her coat lead us to believe she is a Dutch Shepherd mix. She’s very smart, eager to please, affectionate, and loyal. Happy is petite at 42 lbs! She rides beautifully in the car, eats her meals in her crate, is house trained and enjoys days at the office with her foster mom. Happy is dog friendly after a proper intro. She particularly likes the Belgian Malinois she’s in foster with. She’s best suited with a derpy, playful, confident personality type canine companion. However, she’d be perfectly content as an only dog, as well. Happy LOVES stuffie toys and will blissfully surround herself with her favorites and quietly entertain herself. Due to her orthopedic issues since joining our care, Happy hasn’t spent much time mastering her leash skills. Happy is in foster in Fort Collins, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/happy You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.
