Introducing Kai, a 7 year old female Dutch shepherd. She has lived a wonderful life and has been well cared for and socialized but her owner has come into hard times and has to make the incredibly hard decision to find her a new home. He loves her so much and knows she deserves the world that he can’t provide. Please no rude comments, he is heartbroken. Kai is an incredibly intelligent dog. She absolutely adores people. She is 7 years old but she is still ready for adventures. Kai will need a family that will provide daily exercise and then a couch to sleep on! Kai is good with other dogs, especially male dogs. She has also been around cats and was great with them. Kai has been professionally trained and is housetrained. Kai is located in Huntsville AL. We are needing to find her a forever home by the end of the month! If you are interested in adopting Kai, please fill out an application on our website forrescue.net

Story
*Name: Wanda *Age: 3 years old *Current Weight: 50 lbs *Rescued from: Louisiana *Adoption fee: $475 Meet Wanda — Your Next Adventure Buddy! Wanda is the kind of dog who turns heads—not just because of her striking brindle coat and soulful eyes, but because her energy and heart are absolutely contagious. This beautiful girl is playful, affectionate, and full of life. She’s the kind of pup who reminds you to enjoy the little things—zoomies in the yard, snuggles after a long walk, and the simple joy of being together. Wanda’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was found as a stray in Louisiana and ended up in an overcrowded shelter, where she faced the risk of euthanasia simply because no one came for her. But this girl is a survivor—and our rescue stepped in just in time to give her the second chance she so deeply deserves. Now safe at our adoption center in Brewster, NY, Wanda is patiently waiting for the one thing she still doesn’t have: a loving, committed home of her own.  Wanda would be happy in a home with a fenced-in yard where she can run and play or an adopter who’s excited to help her burn off energy in healthy, fun ways. She is a match for anyone looking for a loyal, loving best friend who’s up for anything—as long as it’s with you. Wanda LOVES other dogs and would be over the moon to have a doggy sibling to romp and cuddle with. Wanda is very interested in her feline friends in a playful excited way, so if you have a cat that interacts and plays with the dogs Wanda would love them.  Wanda's wonderful with people of all ages—friendly, outgoing, and always ready to give kisses. She’s adventurous and athletic, making her the perfect companion for hikes, runs, or active weekend plans. She’s sweet and affectionate when playtime is over—your couch will be her favorite place to crash after a good romp outside. Wanda is ready. Her bags are packed. All she needs is someone to say, "I choose you. " To apply to adopt, fill out an application at https://snarrnortheast.org/adopt/ PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR FAQs  ##2135092##

Story
Meet Sara — Your New Best Friend in a Perfectly Trained, 45-Pound Package of Love At just 20 months old, Miss Sara is already proving to be the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog everyone hopes for—smart, affectionate, eager to please, and now… beautifully trained. Originally adopted as a puppy, Sara was very loved—but when her owner sadly fell ill and could no longer care for her, everything changed. She returned to us with a heart full of love, but without the manners every young pup needs. We knew this girl had potential, so off she went to a professional 3-week training program… and wow, is she showing off. &#226&#156&#133 Training? She’s nailing it. &#226&#156&#133 People? She adores them. &#226&#156&#133 Dogs? Instant besties. &#226&#156&#133 Kids? She belly-crawls just to be close to them—it’s beyond precious. We believe she’s a Dutch Shepherd mix, weighing in at about 45 pounds, with a gorgeous, sleek coat and a heart that beats for human connection. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines—and yes, ready to go! Now, she’s just looking for a home that can match her devotion with love and guidance. Toys are her jam, and she’ll happily entertain herself or join you for a game of fetch. No kitties for this girl, please! Chasing them is just too much fun, and she needs a cat-free home to thrive. Sara is the kind of dog who makes you feel like the most important person in the world. Her loyalty is unmatched, her spirit is bright, and her readiness for her forever home couldn’t be clearer. Interested in giving this beautiful girl her happily-ever-after? Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com today. Let Sara show you what love, intelligence, and a second chance can really look like. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 11, 2025, 9:36 pm

Meet Pete! Dutch Shepherd/Black Labrador Retriever/terrier mix, only 2 years old, 60 lbs, and filled with joyous energy! Pete enjoys playing with toys and exploring the backyard. Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     We are delighted to announce the upcoming arrival of tripod Vicki, a charming and energetic 8M old 40lbs  puppy from Egypt, who will be joining our community of handicapped dogs in October. Vicki's history is marked by a traumatic experience, having been rescued from a dire situation involving a severely injured leg infested with maggots and pus, which required amputation to ensure her survival. Happily, Vicki has grown into a sweet and engaging companion, exhibiting strong attachment to her human family and displaying excellent compatibility with both people and dogs.           All dogs are located in NY/NJ area All our puppies need puppy play dates/doggy facetime so we recommend homes with other pups or daily interactions to keep them tired out, happy and social.     Facebook: Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff  Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped (not Lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it!)  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site  https://zanisfurryfriends.org  fill out an application  Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent--please ask by writing us at dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application early Friday so that we can be sure to be there. Otherwise we decide based on other variables. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too.   Please consider providing a home for more than one dog, especially if you are considering adopting a puppy. Dogs are pack animals and very much enjoy as well as need other dog company to learn to play, socialize and be good companion animals to people. The upside to this is that you won't feel as guilty leaving them alone and you get twice the love. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer, and you can always donate! If you want to know about cats/dogs specifically being shown at our adoption locations, please email us info@zanisfurryfriends.org closer to the date so we know your interest and will make every effort to have that pet at the event or let you know how and where you can meet.  It is extemely helpful and speeds up adoption if the application is filled out prior to visiting us so please do that before coming to our weekend events. Our weekend locations are: Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent  Follow us on FB, Zani's Furry Friends ZFF, for latest updates. Usually we are in our foster homes so all this is a bit more stressful but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes. Please come! And if you can't adopt, maybe you can foster or volunteer. And you can always donate:) Cats and Dogs are spayed/neutered, UTD w/ all age appropriate shots and microchipped. Cats are feline combo tested for FIV/FeLV; dogs are heartworm tested and rabies vax'd, (NOT lyme vaxed but we seriously recommend it); rabbits are spayed/neutered. Please fill out an application and email to: For Cats: cats@zanisfurryfriends.org For Dogs: dogs@zanisfurryfriends.org For Rabbits: nyc.acc.rabbits@gmail.com. Please visit our website zanisfurryfriends.org.
