He weighs 45#. He is a good dog... no aggression but also no training. He has been getting some leash training of which he's doing very well. This guy needs to have a companion to take him everywhere, go on hikes, and maybe even swimming. He loves people and is great with other dogs. He does need daily exercise but I’m sure he will calm down after he knows he’s in a forever home and gets his love and exercise every day. I was saved by a trapper on the streets, they weren't even there to save ME that day, but they did!!! I am obviously a beautiful girl, big and solid as well as black and brindly. Annie is a gorgeous 3-year-old female Dutch Shepherd mix. She is a very happy, sensitive, smart, and energetic dog. Annie is house trained. She knows the commands sir, lay down and stay. She walks fairly well on leash, she may pull a bit if there is a squirrel to investigate. She usually enjoys a good run at the dog park then she sleeps for the rest of the day. She is dog-selective but can be great with other dogs who are more submissive. Annie does have a high prey drive, so she shouldn't be with cars or small dogs. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and loves belly rubs. She does not bark unless she hears something suspicious outside. Annie does need a good fenced in yard or she will try to get out and find neighborhood buddies to play with. Annie would make a really wonderful companion and hiking dog. She weighs 75 pounds and is full grown. She is microchipped. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. Adoption fee is waved but the application process is not. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. Jake is a happy, eager-to-please boy with a sweet personality. He can be a bit on the nervous side at times, so he will need an adopter who has experience with Shepherd-type breeds and understands their needs. Jake is very smart and highly food motivated, and his foster mom is already working with him on commands. Because of his intelligence and drive, Jake could really excel as a sporting dog or in activities like agility, obedience, or other canine sports. Jake absolutely loves other dogs and would do best in a home with another young, playful dog who is his size or larger. He can be a bit pushy during play, so a confident playmate who enjoys rough-and-tumble fun would be ideal. Jake has met young children, but they seem to make him nervous. Because of this, we feel he would do best in a home with children 11 years and older, if any. As a working-breed dog, Jake will need an adopter committed to continuing his training and providing both mental and physical exercise. A home with a securely fenced yard is required so Jake can safely run, play, and burn off his energy. Little Man is believed to be a Black Mouth Cur/German Shepherd mix born about January, 2025. He is very attached to his foster family. He prefers to sleep on their bed or on a dog bed right beside them. Black Mouth Curs are believed to be the inspiration behind “Old Yeller”. Little Man gets along with all other dogs, cats and is safe with children. He is leash trained and house trained, a very good dog. Interestingly, he was a stray in a neighborhood, but unlike some strays, was liked and cared for by people. They left out food and water for him, and he never did anything wrong—no digging, chewing, barking, or other disruptive behavior. Our rescue took him in to find him a home because we were concerned about him getting hit by a car on the busy road. Also, because this sweet boy needs a warm place to sleep in the winter, and people of his own to fully bond with. Little Man is neutered and has been brought up to date on all vaccines and health care. Adopt your own piece of the Old South and see how intelligent, people-oriented and loving this mix can be. $50.
