Story
Annie is a gorgeous 3-year-old female Dutch Shepherd mix. She is a very happy, sensitive, smart, and energetic dog. Annie is house trained. She knows the commands sir, lay down and stay. She walks fairly well on leash, she may pull a bit if there is a squirrel to investigate. She usually enjoys a good run at the dog park then she sleeps for the rest of the day. Annie is great with the 1, 2, and 5-year-old children she loves with. She is dog-selective but can be great with other dogs who are more submissive. Annie does have a high prey drive, so she shouldn't be with cars or small dogs. Annie is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and loves belly rubs. She does not bark unless she hears something suspicious outside. Annie does need a good fenced in yard or she will try to get out and find neighborhood buddies to play with. Annie would make a really wonderful companion and hiking dog. She weighs 75 pounds and is full grown. She is microchipped. Meet and greets are by appointment only with approved applicants. Adoption fee is waved but the application process is not. We believe you can always teach an ‘old’ dog new tricks so we highly recommend continued obedience training for this smart pup; it stimulates the dog's mind and establishes a good dog/adopter relationship. This pup, like all pups should be on heartworm preventative, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption form, downloadable from our website: https://www.lastchanceanimalrescue.org/adoption-request-form/ and return it per instructions. Ryan (A518527) 100% gentle giant. Ryan doesn’t pull on the leash and is so sweet. He is a medium to low energy companion that enjoys ear scratches. He`s a tank that just wants to cuddle up and enjoy his time.

I came from an overcrowded shelter in Alabama, and I've brought my Southern charm with me. I love everyone I meet, especially my fellow canine friends. I'm always up for a good game of fetch or a romp in the park. At my young age, I am in my prime for training and socialization. I will make a loyal companion, a playmate, and most importantly, a best friend for an active home. I'm ready to bring joy and love to my forever home. Could that be with you? Submit an application today! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mocha is a 4 y o red and black spayed female German Shepherd. She is up to date on vaccines and weights about 100 lbs but needs to lose a few pounds. Mocha is very social and gives kisses upon greeting. She is a sweet girl but is an assertive dog. She will need a confident, but not a dominant handler. Mocha will benefit from continued training to include basic obedience, exposure, and socialization, will allow her to become a stable and confident dog who will be comfortable in any situation. Mocha has a high prey drive—no squirrel will be safe! She was not reactive to other dogs in the test neighborhood. Mocha rides well in the car and enjoys the water and swimming. Her perfect home would be one without cats, older children, and an only dog. We are looking for an experienced adopter who understands breed and temperament. An adopter who will commit to necessary training and truly wants to work to expand their knowledge and experience while working to shape behavior into a stable and confident German Shepherd. If you have experience with the breed, are looking to spend time working and training a beautiful dog who already has some wonderful qualities, we would love to answer any questions you might have about Mocha. Please visit http://bit.ly/Adoption-TRD for information about our adoption process. Inquiries for additional information can be sent toinfo@trainingresscues.org. Please be aware, meet and greets are only scheduled for approved adopters.       Please either check back for updates or email us for more information.  Please visit http://bit.ly/Adoption-TRD for information about our adoption process. ***Training Rescue Dogs is different from other rescues in the following ways: (1) training is required with one of our approved trainers under the adoption contract and (2) the rescue will match the adopter with the most appropriate dog for the respective family situation. The training requirement is with one of the Rescue’s approved trainers. The training contract is between the adopter and the trainer and is not included in the adoption fee and must be signed prior to or at the time of adoption. Each foster dog is evaluated by an experienced, professional behaviorist. The Rescue does this in order to understand the temperament of the dog and also to be able to match the dog with the best possible family. Meet and greets are only scheduled for approved adopters. All of our dogs are living in private foster homes so we attempt to minimize disruptions to our foster families by limiting meetings to those have completed the application process and been approved. Training Rescue Dogs does require follow-on training with an approved trainer for the dog and the new family. Training is important to establish leadership and a bond with the dog. A trainer will be identified by the rescue based on the needs of the individual dog.  The adoption fee for Training Rescue Dogs, Inc is $450.
