Story
Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, male, currently 75 lbs +, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccinations, heart-worm negative and microchipped Meet Haribo!  (Hari for short) This incredibly handsome boy was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.   He is a happy, goofy boy with a lot of personality.  Haribo and his sister Honor were both born with a congenital issue called Megaesophogus.  Basically his esophagus is too large to move food adequately from his mouth to his stomach so he just eats differently that others.     When it’s feeding time, Hari sits in a special chair called a Bailey chair.  Haribo is a clever boy who knows how to get into his chair for feeding times all on his own.   He does very well eating and sitting in the chair for 20 minutes afterwards.   He eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Like his sister Honor,  his Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  He gets 50 mg a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)   Haribo is great on a leash, loves to play with his sister and likes to play fetch.  He loves getting attention and will nuzzle your hands to get a nice petting.  He likes walks around the lakes in his foster family’s neighborhood and is interested in the ducks and squirrels but doesn’t try to chase.  He is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with. Haribo is in a foster home with other dogs and school aged children that he does well with.  Please consider making this handsome boy a member of your family. Story
Est DOB: 1/8/22, GSD mix, female, currently 75 lbs +, spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Meet Honor! Honor is a gorgeous girl who was born into the rescue on Jan. 8, 2022.  She has always been a happy, playful pup.  A few months after being born Honor was diagnosed with Megaesophogus, a condition that affects the way food moves from her mouth to her stomach.   Honor is just like any other dog except that she requires a special chair to sit in to eat.  She has her own Bailey chair that she is trained to get in and out of it on her own that would go with her to her new family.  She is a very smart girl and she does very well in her chair when she eats and stays for 20 minutes afterwards.    Honor eats twice a day and has been eating Royal Canin.   Honor’s Megaesophogus is easily managed with an inexpensive drug called Sildenafil.  She gets 50 mg. a day. (25 mg in the a.m. and p.m.)     Honor loves to play with her brother Haribo, who was also born with Megaesophogus.   She enjoys walks and taking little dips in her foster family’s pool.  Honor is affectionate, sweet and silly and likes to chase leaves and toss pine cones into the air.  She is smart and very attentive and would be an amazing addition to any family.   Honor is spayed, up-to-date on all her vaccinations, heart-worm negative and she is microchipped.   Please consider making this adorable girl a member of your family. Story
Meet Jackie, a young, sweet dog with a zest for life that is inspiring. Her curious nature keeps her exploring and her friendly demeanor makes her a joy to be around. Jackie is the epitome of playful and energetic, always ready for a game of fetch or a fun training session. Despite her occasional noisy outbursts and love for chewing, her cuddly, affectionate side shines through with every puppy kiss. Jackie, still learning the ropes, is eager for a home where she can thrive and share her boundless love. She`ll need your help with house training and leash walking but if she wanders away while off leash, she`ll come back if you call her. She knows the no and `sleepy time` commands which means to go into her crate. She weighs 37 pounds and likes car rides, fetch, running, tugging, toys, walks, and wrestling. While she can be a bit jumpy around children and rough with other dogs, she`s playful with everyone - even cats. She was given up because her owner had too many growing dogs. Adopt lovable Jackie for a life time of devotion. (tw 12/5/2025)Click `Play` to meet Jackie. This animal has been available at the shelter for more than 30 days and is now considered a VIP. Story
Meet Autumn, a young, affectionate dog with a heart full of love. Despite her shyness, she`s incredibly curious and playful, always ready to explore with gentle enthusiasm. She weighs 44 pounds and is well behaved on a leash with an occasional jump for fun. She is obedient and knows the sit, stay, come, no, down, and shake commands. Autumn is a bit timid and can be jumpy or whiny in new situations, showing her nervous and insecure side. However, once she feels safe, she transforms into the perfect lap dog, offering cuddles and sweet kisses. Her alertness makes her an excellent companion for anyone looking for a loyal friend. She enjoys toys and walks. In a recent foster home she showed how well she gets along with dogs and teenagers. She`s cautious and submissive but friendly and playful. Since she doesn`t enjoy being alone, she`d love a home with lots of companionship. Autumn`s loving nature makes her the ideal pet for a caring home that can provide the security and love she deserves. (tw 12/6/2025)Foster Note: Autumn is a super sweet young pup, fully potty trained, get along great with other large dogs and is loving to all. She`s a fast learner and has a lot to learn and listens well. She is shy at first and does have insecurity with being alone. However, she does not let that stop her from being the best pup that will melt your heart, with her curly tail wiggles and endless quiet companionship. Autumn would like to share a little secret with you: Please do not confine her in crate or leave her alone at the beginning till she is very comfortable with your home. In exchange she will promise no accident nor mess at all, Pinky Swear, because Autumn knows, There Is No Place Like Home! Story
Meet Julie, a young, playful, and friendly dog who loves to cuddle and is full of energy. Her curiosity makes every day an adventure. Despite being neglected, Julie remains lovable and affectionate, though she can be a bit distrustful and needy at times. She is always cautious in new environments and around new humans. She only weighs 31 pounds and is working her way up to a healthy weight. She likes agility, car rides, running, tugging, toys, and wrestling. She knows the sit command will come back if she runs off while off leash. She firmly believes it`s her job to lead the way. Her owner said she is house trained but at the shelter she indicates that she might need more training. Please be patient with her. She thrives on attention and loves being a lap dog, always ready to share her excitement and affection. Julie is a social butterfly, never wanting to be by herself, and thrives in the company of other dogs although she is occasionally fearful. Her rough play style can be a bit much for small children but she absolutely adores all kids. She was given up because her family did not have enough time for her. She was well behaved in the home and never had to be disciplined. Adopting Julie means giving her the tender loving care she deserves and in return, you`ll gain a loyal and joyful companion. (tw 10/23/2025)Foster Notes: Julie is a gentle, soulful girl who missed out on early socialization and is just beginning to learn that the world can be a safe and kind place. She thrives in calm routines and quiet environments and has excellent manners; fully crate- and house-trained, respectful, and never demanding attention (though she may politely hint when it’s time for a belly rub). Julie is attentive to her surroundings and can be sensitive to loud or unexpected noises, preferring short, peaceful walks where she can move at her own pace. Since coming into foster care, she has started to relax and trust, growing more confident each day. Julie is looking for an experienced, patient, and understanding adopter who will give her the time and space she needs to feel safe. Once she knows she’s truly home, her walls begin to come down. Until then, all she needs is love, reassurance, and kindness. In time, Julie will blossom into a devoted, affectionate companion who wants nothing more than to be close to her person. If you would like additional information about her, you can contact her foster Patty at pattyschrab@yahoo.com or 713-464-0455. (PA 1/2/26)
